The purpose of this study was to compare the differences of moral reasoning among general students, sports related majors students, and student athletes in Korea and Japan University. We collected total 612 out of 700 (315 from Korea, 297 from Japan) and 88 questionnaires were excluded questionnaire due to incompleteness and unreliable data. For this study, Hahm-Bellar Values Choice Inventory-16(HBVCI-16), which is a Moral Reasoning Questionnaire on Sports Activities, was used. The collected data was analyzed by t-test, one way ANOVA and two way ANOVA with using SPSS Var. 17.0 statistical package program and result were as follow. First, the Japan student`s overall score of moral reasoning were lower compare to Korean university students. Second, there were 1 % higher score of moral reasoning in woman against man and in younger subjects. Sports majored university students presented 1% higher score against other related students and higher grade students presented 5% higher score against lower grade students. Third, among student athletes of Korea and Japan, although there were no significant differences, it was 0.1% higher among those who engaged in individual sports and 5% higher score in those who have less sports career.
A Model for Computer-Aided Process Planning System in Flexible Manufacturing Systems
Kang, Young-Sig,Hahm, Hyo-Joon,Rim, Suk-Chul,Kim, Seung-Baum The Korean Society for Quality Management 1994 품질경영학회지 Vol.22 No.1
Most of computer-aided process planning(CAPP) systems have been developed to automate the process planning function. In this paper, we describe an analytical model for a CAPP system in order to improve the performance of production system in flexible manufacturing systems(FMSs) for computer intergrated manufacturing(CIM) architecture. This paper proposes an optimal process planning that minimizes the load time by minimizing the cycle time and the number of workstations using Kang and Hahm's heuristic approach so as to improve the performance of production system under the batch production of discrete products. We also perform simulation using SIMAN language to campare the line utilization of each for various product types. The proposed algorithm can be implemented in existing FMSs for on-line control of product quantity using programmable logic controllers(PLC) and communication devices.

<P>Glycosylation is one of the most important posttranslational modifications for proteins, including therapeutic antibodies, and greatly influences protein physiochemical properties. In this study, glycopeptide mapping of a reference and biosimilar recombinant antibodies (rAbs) was performed using liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS/MS) and an automated Glycoproteome Analyzer (GPA) algorithm. The tandem mass analyses for the reference and biosimilar samples indicate that this approach proves to be highly efficient in reproducing consistent analytical results and discovering the implications of different rAb production methods on glycosylation patterns. Furthermore, the comparative analysis of a mutagenized rAb glycoprotein proved that a single amino acid mutation in the Fc portion of the antibody molecule caused increased variations in glycosylation patterns. These variations were also detected by the mass spectrometry method efficiently. This mapping method, focusing on precise glycopeptide identification and comparison for the identified glycoforms, can be useful in differentiating aberrant glycosylation in biosimilar rAb products.</P>

We have prepared poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) nanocomposites filled with two different types of fumed silicas, hydrophilic (FS) and hydrophobic (MFS) silicas of 7-nm diameter, by in situ polymerization. We then investigated the morphological changes, rheological properties, crystallization behavior, and mechanical properties of the PET nanocomposites. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images indicate that the dispersibility of the fumed silica was improved effectively by in situ polymerization; in particular, MFS had better dispersibility than FS on the non-polar PET polymer. The crystallization behavior of the nanocomposites revealed a peculiar tendency: all the fillers acted as retarding agents for the crystallization of the PET nanocomposites. The incorporation of fumed silicas increased the intrinsic viscosities (IV) of the PET matrix, and the strong particleparticle interactions of the filler led to an increased melt viscosity. Additionally, the mechanical properties, toughness, and modules of the nano-composites all increased, even at low filler content.
Capacity Planning in a Closed Queueing Network
Hahm, Juho 한국경영과학회 1991 韓國經營科學會誌 Vol.16 No.2
In this paper, criteria and algorithms for the optimal service rate in a closed queueing network have been established. The objective is to minimize total cost. It is shown that system throughput is increasing concave over the service rate of a node and cycle time is increasing convex over the se of service times with a single class of customers. This enables developing an algorithm using a steepest descent method when the cost function for service rate is convex. The efficiency of the algorithm rests on the fact that the steepest descent direction is readily obtained at each iteration from the MVA algorithm, Sereral numerical examples are presented. The major application of this research is optimization of facility capacity in a manufacturing system.
The molecular mechanisms of vitamin C on cell cycle regulation in B16F10 murine melanoma
Hahm, Eunsil,Jin, Dong-Hoon,Kang, Jae Seung,Kim, Young-In,Hong, Seung-Woo,Lee, Seung Koo,Kim, Ha Na,Jung, Da Jung,Kim, Jee Eun,Shin, Dong Hoon,Hwang, Young Il,Kim, Yeong Seok,Hur, Dae Young,Yang, Yool Wiley Subscription Services, Inc., A Wiley Company 2007 Journal of cellular biochemistry Vol.102 No.4
<P>Vitamin C has inconsistent effects on malignant tumor cells, which vary from growth stimulation to apoptosis induction. It is well known that melanoma cells are more susceptible to vitamin C than any other tumor cells, but the precise mechanism remains to be elucidated. In the present study, the proliferation of B16F10 melanoma cells was suppressed by vitamin C, which induced growth arrest in a dose-dependent manner without cytotoxic effects. Therefore, we investigated the changes in cell cycle distribution of B16F10 melanoma cells by staining DNAs with propidium iodide (PI). The growth inhibition of B16F10 melanoma by vitamin C was associated with an arrest of cell cycle distribution at G1 stage. In addition, the levels of p53-p21Waf1/Cip1 increased during G1 arrest, which were essential for vitamin C-induced cell cycle arrest. The increased p21Waf1/Cip1 inhibited CDK2. Moreover, the activity of p53-p21Waf1/Cip1 pathway was closely related with the activation of checkpoint kinase 2 (Chk2). Inhibitor of the PI3K-family, LY294002 and the ATM/ATR inhibitor, caffeine, blocked vitamin C-induced growth arrest in B16F10 melanoma cells. These results suggest that vitamin C might be a potent agent to inhibit proliferative activity of melanoma cells via the regulation of Chk2-p53-p21Waf1/Cip1 pathway. J. Cell. With the study goal of firstly elucidating the anisotropic interactions between oriented polymer chain segments and liquid crystal (LC) molecules, and secondly of determining the contributions of the chemical components of the polymer segments to the film surface topography, LC alignment, pretilt, and anchoring energy, we synthesized three dianhydrides, 1,4-bis(4'-t-butylphenyl)pyromellitic dianhydride (BBPD), 1,4-bis(4'-trimethylsilylphenyl)pyromellitic dianhydride(BTPD), and 2,2'-bis(4"-tert-butylphenyl)-4,4',5,5'-biphenyltetracarboxylic dianhydride (BBBPAn), and a series of their organosoluble polyirnides, BBPD-ODA, BBPD-MDA, BBPD-FDA, BTPD-FDA, and BBBPAn-FDA, which contain the diamines 4,4'-oxydianiline (ODA), 4,4'-methylenediamine (MDA), and 4,4'-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)dianiline (FDA). All the polyimides were determined to be positive birefringent polymers, regardless of the chemical components. Although all the rubbed polyimide films exhibited microgrooves which were created by rubbing process, the film surface topography varied depending on the polyimides. In all the rubbed films, the polymer chains were unidirectionally oriented along the rubbing direction. However, the degree of in-plane birefringence in the rubbed film varied depending on the polyimides. The rubbing-aligned polymer chains in the polyimide films effectively induced the alignment of nematic LCs along their orientation directors by anisotropic interactions between the preferentially oriented polymer chain segments and the LCs. The azimuthal and polar anchoring energies of the LCs ranged from $0.45{\times}10^{-4}\;-\;1.37{\times}10^{-4}\;J/m^2$ and from $0.86{\times}10^{-5}\;-\;4.26{\times}10^{-5}\;J/m^2$, respectively, depending on the polyimides. The pretilt angles of the LCs were in the range $0.10-0.62^{\circ}$. In summary, the soluble aromatic polyimides reported here are promising LC alignment layer candidates for the production of advanced LC display devices.
DEGREE OF APPROXIMATION TO A SMOOTH FUNCTION BY GENERALIZED TRANSLATION NETWORKS
HAHM, NAHMWOO,YANG, MEEHYEA,HONG, BUM IL The Honam Mathematical Society 2005 호남수학학술지 Vol.27 No.2
We obtain the approximation order to a smooth function on a compact subset of $\mathbb{R}$ by generalized translation networks. In our study, the activation function is infinitely many times continuously differentiable function but it does not have special properties around ${\infty}$ and $-{\infty}$ like a sigmoidal activation function. Using the Jackson's Theorem, we get the approximation order. Especially, we obtain the approximation order by a neural network with a fixed threshold.
