This paper presents a 3 dimensional visual simulation approach for automated cruise control system with collision avoidance in multi-vehicle traffics environment. The longitudinal and lateral directions of the autonomous vehicle are determined from higher level fuzzy neural network control scheme imitating human behavior. The motion of the controlled vehicle is simulated together with the vehicles cruising predetermined path under 3D modeled simulation environment.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>This study reports the temperature-dependent strength improvement and retardation in Ca(OH)<SUB>2</SUB>-Na<SUB>2</SUB>CO<SUB>3</SUB>-activated fly ash binders with sugar. Without sugar, the system exhibited rapid stiffening due to the calcite formation. The addition of sugar clearly removed the false set; however, at room temperature, it retarded strength development because the calcium complexation of sugar inhibits the dissolved calcium ions from participating in calcite and C-S-H formation. However, at 90 °C, the use of sugar significantly improved the compressive strength by increasing the (1) degree of dissolution of fly ash and Ca(OH)<SUB>2</SUB>, (2) C-S-H formation, and (3) reduction of overall pore size and volume.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Fly ash was activated with Ca(OH)<SUB>2</SUB>, Na<SUB>2</SUB>CO<SUB>3</SUB>, and sugar at different temperatures. </LI> <LI> The use of sugar delayed the rapid set of the cementless binder at room temperature. </LI> <LI> At the high curing temperature, the use of sugar improved the strength of the binder. </LI> <LI> The high temperature removed calcium complexation of sugar, increasing strength. </LI> </UL> </P>
Clinicopathological Features and Prognosis of Lobular Carcinoma In Situ

Purpose: According to the American Joint Committee on Cancer’s 8th Edition Manual, lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS) is no longer considered a malignant disease, although it may be a precursor to the development of breast cancer. The present study aimed to evaluate the clinicopathological features and prognosis of LCIS. Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed clinicopathological features and prognosis data of LCIS among patients who underwent breast surgery at Severance Hospital, Seoul, South Korea from 1991 to 2016. Results: Of the 47 patients, 49 cases of LCIS were confirmed by postoperative pathology. The mean patient age was 48.15±8.34 years. Most patients (81.6%) did not have palpable tumors at diagnosis, and 51.0% showed no microcalcification on mammography. Breast-conserving surgery was performed more frequently than total mastectomy (77.6% vs. 22.4%). The mean tumor size was 1.63±2.11 cm. There were only 3 cases of pleomorphic LCIS. Hormone receptor-positive tumors were noted in 47 cases, however, the hormone receptor status was unknown in the other 2 cases. There were no LCIS recurrences or deaths during the follow-up period (mean 56 months). Conclusion: LCIS is often incidentally diagnosed without clinical symptoms, especially in women aged <50 years. The prognosis of LCIS is excellent in cases that are surgically treated.

Objective : To compare the anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) and posterior cervical fusion (PCF) with wide facetectomy in the treatment of parallel-shaped bony foraminal stenosis (FS). Methods : Thirty-six patients underwent surgery due to one-or-two levels of parallel-shaped cervical FS. ACDF was performed in 16 patients, and PCF using CPS was performed in 20 patients. All patients were followed up at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months postoperatively. Standardized outcome measures such as Numeric rating scale (NRS) score for arm/neck pain and Neck disability index (NDI) were evaluated. Cervical radiographs were used to compare the C2-7 Cobb's angle, segmental angle, and fusion rates. Results : There was an improvement in NRS scores after both approaches for radicular arm pain (mean change -6.78 vs. -8.14, p=0.012), neck pain (mean change -1.67 vs. -4.36, p=0.038), and NDI score (-19.69 vs. -18.15, p=0.794). The segmental angle improvement was greater in the ACDF group than in the posterior group (9.4°±2.7° vs. 3.3°±5.1°, p=0.004). However, there was no significant difference in C2-7 Cobb angle between groups (16.2°±7.9° vs. 14.8°±8.5°, p=0.142). As a complication, dysphagia was observed in one case of the ACDF group. Conclusion : In the treatment of parallel-shaped bony FS up to two surgical levels, segmental angle improvement was more favorable in patients who underwent ACDF. However, PCF with wide facetectomy using CPS should be considered as an alternative treatment option in cases where the anterior approach is burdensome.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Recently, various functional construction materials based on carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are being researched; however, there are very few examples of practical use due to cost and workability obstacles. In order to overcome these limitations, we studied the electrical characteristics of multi-phase cement composites containing multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and economical pitch-based carbon fiber (CF). Test specimens with various formulations of the CF length, content, and water/cement (w/c) ratio are manufactured and their properties are evaluated. The pitch-based CFs used in the experiments were analyzed by Raman spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The resistance of the conductive cement composites was measured by a two-probe method, and the viscosity was evaluated using a rheometer immediately after the mixing process. In addition, the internal structure of the specimens was analyzed using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and by micro-computed tomography (Micro-CT) analyses. It was observed that the incorporation of CFs into the CNT-embedded cement composite causes the CFs to serve as a bridge between CNT particles, thus maintaining the homogeneity of the conductive network in the composites. In addition, although an increase of the w/c ratio improved the viscosity of the composites by 90%, the electrical resistivity was retained due to the bridging effect of the CF.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Electrically conductive cement composites containing MWCNT and CF were prepared. </LI> <LI> Test specimens with various CF length, filler content, and w/c ratio were fabricated. </LI> <LI> The incorporation of CF into the MWCNT-embedded composite causes the bridge effect. </LI> <LI> The improved electrical and viscous properties of proposed composites was observed. </LI> </UL> </P>

Purpose: Although adjuvant chemotherapy (CTx) is still recommended for high-risk patients with hormone receptorpositive and human epidermal receptor (HER)-2-negative breast cancer, recent studies found that selected patients with low disease burden may be spared from CTx and receive hormonal treatment (HT) alone. This study aims to evaluate the trends of treatment (CTx + HT vs. HT alone) in Korea and to assess the impact on overall survival (OS) according to treatment pattern. Methods: The Korean Breast Cancer Society Registry was queried (2000 to 2018) for women with pT1-2N0-1 hormone receptor-positive and HER2-negative disease who underwent surgery and adjuvant systemic treatment (CTx and HT). Clinicopathologic factors, change in pattern of treatment over time, and OS for each treatment option were analyzed. Results: A total of 40,938 women were included in the study; 20,880 (51.0%) received CTx + HT, while 20,058 (49.0%) received HT only. In recent years, there has been a steady increase in the use of HT alone, from 21.0% (2000) to 64.6% (2018). In Cox regression analysis, age, type of breast and axillary operations, T and N stages, body mass index, histologic grade, and presence of lymphovascular invasion were prognostic indicators for OS. There was no significant difference between CTx + HT and HT alone in terms of OS (P = 0.126). Conclusion: Over the years, there has been a shift from CTx + HT to HT alone without a significant difference in OS. Therefore, HT alone could be a safe treatment option in selected patients, even those with T2N1 disease.

마인드풀니스 명상의 효과가 과학적으로 입증됨에 따라 다양한 종류의 연구와 프로그램이 진행되고 있다. 이와 더불어 자연 속에서 수행하는 마인드풀니스 명상의 효과에 대한 연구도 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이러한 흐름에 맞추어 VR 혹은 모바일 명상 어플리케이션이 개발되고 있다. 하지만 기존의 어플리케이션들은 대부분 가상의 자연을 구현하여 사용자가 명상 세션을 진행하게 한다. 이는 실제 자연이 제공하는 명상의 효과를 반영하지 못할 뿐더러 자연과 연결됨을 느끼지 못하게 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 실제 환경을 반영하는 AR 의 특성을 활용해서 실제 자연을 체험할 수 있는 AR 마인드풀니스 명상 어플리케이션을 개발하는 것이다.
RNA activation‐independent DNA targeting of the Type III CRISPR‐Cas system by a Csm complex

<P>The CRISPR-Cas system is an adaptive and heritable immune response that destroys invading foreign nucleic acids. The effector complex of the Type III CRISPR-Cas system targets RNA and DNA in a transcription-coupled manner, but the exact mechanism of DNA targeting by this complex remains elusive. In this study, an effector Csm holocomplex derived from Thermococcus onnurineus is reconstituted with a minimalistic combination of Csm1(1)2(1)3(3)4(1)5(1), and shows RNA targeting and RNA-activated single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) targeting activities. Unexpectedly, in the absence of an RNA transcript, it cleaves ssDNA containing a sequence complementary to the bound crRNA guide region in a manner dependent on the HD domain of the Csm1 subunit. This nuclease activity is blocked by a repeat tag found in the host CRISPR loci. The specific cleavage of ssDNA without a target RNA suggests a novel ssDNA targeting mechanism of the Type III system, which could facilitate the efficient and complete degradation of foreign nucleic acids.</P>
