        보건소 영양사 직무 분석 (Ⅰ) : 업무수행도 및 중요성 인식도 분석

        The purpose of this study was to analyze task performance and importance level of the dietitian who is working in the public health nutrition area. Work oriented job analysis methodology was employed for the study purpose. Subjects of 38 dietitians currently working at health centers in 2002 were recruited. Based on the focus group interview with 7 public health nutritionists and 7 professors, information about task elements was collected. Questionnaires measuring work performance and self-perception of importance of the selected task elements were administered. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1) The tasks with high performance and importance level among 20 tasks are developing nutrition education material (B1), nutrition services for adults and the elderly (C3), writing the proposal for nutrition services (A2), evaluating service effect (A4), improving professionalism (E1), and self management (E2). 2) The task elements with high performance and importance level among weekly task elements are nutrition education for diabetes (C56), nutrition counseling for adults (C47), nutrition for hypertension (C53), managing and keeping records (C80), nutrition education for kindergarten and nursery school children (C42), searching for nutrition education materials (B26), and searching for media (B27). 3) The number of task elements with high performance and importance level among monthly task elements are 13 in the planning and evaluation of public health nutrition service, and 5 in developing nutrition education materials. The tasks of a dietitian in the public health center show a very wide spectrum. However dietitians recognize most of the tasks are important even though they cannot perform those tasks adequately.

      • 도시근로자 가구의 외식소비 패턴 : 1963년에서 1992년 사이의 변화를 중심으로

        지나간 30년간 도시근로자 가구의 외식소비패턴을 '93 통계청 도시가계연보에 제시된 자료를 이용하여 시계열적으로 분석하였다. 가구의 소득이 증가함에 따라 총식품비, 총외식비 및 총식품비에 대한 외식비율은 지속적으로 증가하였고 소득의 증가율에 대한 외식소비의 증가율(소득탄력성)은 1985년 까지는 늘어나는 경향을 보였고 사치재적 성격을 보였으나 그 후 부터는 더 이상 늘지않았고 경기순화 cycle과도 무관하여 필수재적 성격을 나타내었다. 사회계층별로 외식소비액을 분석하여볼 때 수입이 높을수록, 연령이 많아질수록, 학력이 높을수록 외식 소비총액이 증가하여 안정되고 여유있는 생활수준을 대변하였고 50대 이상 가구와 대학원 졸업의 고학력층 가구에서 외식소비액이 기타 계층에 비해 특히 많아 전문직을 가진 맞벌이 가정의 외식 소비패턴을 보여주었으며 90년대 이 후에는 30대 보다 20대의 외식지출총액이 더 커서 새로운 세대의 식생활 행태를 보여주었다. 이상의 분석결과로 볼 때 생활수준의 향상에 따라 외식소비는 계속 증가할 전망이며 특히 저소득층과 20대의 외식소비의 비율은 중산층에 비해 당분간 크게 증가할 것으로 전망되어 외식소비에 대한 영향교육 및 정책적 배려가 필요한 것으로 사료된다. Dining-out expenditure patterns of urban wage earner-households have been observed for the past 30 years based on the data provided by the Bureau of the National Statistics. Total food expenditure and dining-out expenditure rate among food expenditure have been increasing consistently for the past 30 years. The income elasticity of dining-out expenditure shows that it can be considered as the essential goods especially after late 80s. Analyses by socioeconomic strata showed that dining-out expenditure increases as education level, age, and income of the householders increases. But the dining-out expenditure of age of 20s were greater than that of 30s after 1990, which shows a big change in food consumption patters of new generation. These findings are important for predicting the trend of future food consumption patterns and can be applied for food policy making and nutrition education.

      • Nutrition Labeling 제도와 영양 교육

        With an improvement of the standad of living and the change in eating pattern and food habits of the people, Korea now seems to have reached a stage to give thoughtful consideration to the adoption of nutritiongl labeling system. Nutrition labeling system, currently in use in many advanced countries, seems to have proved that it meets better the consumers's right to know, helps consumers select more nutritious food, improves the nutritional quality of food, and increase nutritional awareness and knowledge. This article reviews the potential merits and limitations of the system, on the basis of economic theory of consumer protection, and suggests some ideas for its successful adoption and implementation in Korea. In partioular, this article stresses the importance of nutrition education both as the precondition and guarantor of the system's effectiveness.

        어린이 식생활 교육을 위한 만화와 애니메이션의 개발

        The purpose of this study was to develop children-friendly comic books and animation for dietary education of 3rd or 4th grade elementary students. Through a literature review on current dietary problems and dietary education for children, 15 educational themes were chosen on both healthy eating and safe dietary life. Comic books and animation were developed based on the themes by the brainstorming and help of professional animators, and they were applied and evaluated in the field. The developed comic books and animation, with its own characters, proved to be of high quality and effective educational materials for children’s healthy and safe eating. Compared with the reference group, the tested group has shown a significant improvement in dietary knowledge and attitude (p < 0.05). And both parents (level of understanding 4.29, level of interest 4.49, level of usefulness 4.46, level of design satisfaction 3.95 in 5-point Likert scale) and children (level of understanding 4.63, level of interest 4.57, level of usefulness of 1st comic book 4.44, 2nd comic book 4.49, level of design satisfaction 4.06, level of usefulness for knowledge pages 4.22 in 5-point Likert scale) have shown high levels of interests and satisfaction. Therefore, these materials could be utilized as effective educational materials for elementary students in school lunch time, extra-curricular activities, or after school programs

      • 용인지역 노인의 식습관 및 영양섭취 실태조사

        This study was performed to assess the health and nutritional status of 125 elderly living in the Yongin area, Kyonggi-do. Survey questionnaires including 24-hr dietary recall, food habit, anthropometric measurements were applied as the instruments. The average age of the subjects were 77 for male and 75 for female. Mean value of BMI was 23.2. About 30% of the subjects was overweight, which is over 25 of BMI. Caloric intake and protein intake were about 50% of the Korean RDA. Their diets were inappropriate, showing C: P: F ratio = 75: 15: 10. Female elderly showed higher food habit score than male elderly(p<0.05).

        In this paper, we propose the enhanced algorithm to cope with the issue which shows that short connections lend to lose to long connections in their competition for bandwidth in the wireless internet environment. This is because TCP is originally evolving in wired environment and short connections don’t know the traffic information, and therefore they are doomed to be less competitive due to the conservative nature of the TCP congestion control algorithm. Inspired by the Snoop algorithm, we proposed an enhanced algorithm to give an improved performance by adapting the weight in RTT estimation of the Snoop algorithm, so that the fairness is applied in the wirelss internet environment.

        출혈성 소화성 궤양의 장기 재발률

        Background/Aims: Bleeding from a peptic ulcer is one of the common and serious complications associated with the rate of reported mortality, which ranges from 5% to 10%. Endoscopic therapy is effective in controlling active bleeding and reducing the emer-gency surgery, the immediate mortality rate and the incidence of early rebleeding. But few recent studies have documented the long-term recurrent bleeding rate after discharge in patients with bleeding peptic ulcers. The aim of this study was to determine the long-term recurrent bleeding rate and factors predisposing to recurrent bleeding. Methods: Eighty-eight patients with bleeding peptic ulcers discharged after medical treatment between Dec. 1990 and Jul. 1992 were included in this study and retrospectively followed up with medical records and telephone interviews. The end point of follow-up was recur-rent hemorrhage, surgery for treatment of ulcer complication, or death. Results: By July 1997, retrospective follow-up was available in 76 patients. Recurrent bleeding occurred in 23 patients (30.3%) with bleeding peptic ulcers and the median follow-up period was 69 months (range, 1 ∼79 months). The estimated cumulative recurrent bleeding rate after 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 years was 11.8%, 14.5%, 19.9%, 24.2%, 27.2% and 34.2%, respectively. There was no difference between the recurrent bleeding group and the non-recurrent bleed-ing group according to age, sex, prior NSAIDs use, previous history of bleeding or pepticulcer, site of ulcer, stigmata of recent hemorrhage at initial examination, method of treatment and amount of transfusion. Conclusion: Recurrent bleeding occurred in one-third of patients with bleeding peptic ulcers after 6 years of follow-up and one-third of recurrent bleeders rebled within 1 year. The factors predisposing to recurrent bleeding in the long-term follow-up could not be found. Therefore, further studies designed to identify factors predisposing to recurrent bleeding are needed and the evaluation of Helicobacter pylori status in bleeding pepic ulcer is needed because Helicobacter pylori is an important factor of peptic ulcer recurrence.

        면접조사를 통한 초등학생의 영양교육 실태 및 실천도 조사

        This study investigated the experience and practice of elementary school students on nutrition education. The data were collected from 217 male and female students attending 5-6th grade elementary schools in Seoul and Kyunggi-Do from March to June 2007, interviewing face to face by a nutrition teacher and 3 interns of a nutrition teacher. The results were as follows: 86.5% of the subjects learned about ‘Table etiquette’, ‘Reasons for eating fruits and vegetables’ (78.7%), ‘Food waste and environment’ (72.3%), ‘Healthy snacks’ (55.7%), ‘Food sanitation’ (52.3%), ‘Food culture of foreign countries’ (48.1%). Nutrition education experience was significantly different by gender. A total of 43.5% boys responded that they never learned about ‘basic food preperation’ (p < 0.01). They had learned ‘Nutrients for body’ and ‘Food waste and environment’ in school, ‘Healthy weight loss’, ‘Food culture of foreign countries’, ‘Food circulation’ on television, Most content (‘Table etiquette’, ‘Simple cooking’, ‘Food sanitati n’, ‘Eating behaviors for health’, ‘Reasons for eating fruits and vegetables’, ‘Healthy snacks’) was learned from parents. The practice after nutrition education was higher in ‘Table etiquette’ (2.14), ‘Eating fruits and vegetables’ (2.07) than others compared with education experience. The most reason of non-practice on nutrition information was ‘Troublesome’. In ‘Nutrients for body’, a boy answered ‘Difficult for practice’ 20.0%, a girl answered ‘Difficult to understand’ 32.6%, showing a significant difference between the gender groups (p < 0.001). They remembered the ‘Nutrients for body’ (49.6%), ‘Food sanitation’ (44.5%) because of ‘important content’,‘Basic food preparation’ (40.6%), ‘Food culture of foreign countries’ (36.3%) because of ‘interesting content’, ‘Healthy weight loss’ (52.0%), ‘Eating behavior for health’ (44.5%) and ‘Healthy snacks’ (33.7%) because of ‘need for my health’.

      • Selection of Growth Reference for Assesing Nutritional Status of Korean Children

        One of the fundamental, but controversial issues in eveluating the growth patterns of children in developing countries has been whether or not the application of the uniform growth reference world-wide is advisable. Some scholars recently insisted that genetic with the NCHS Standard he can draw the same conclusion. The growth reference set up in 1965, 1975, 1985, and 1994 received a continued upward readjustment and even showed 70th-90th centile value of the NCHS Standard at early infancy. But a deceleration of growth rate starts 6 to 7 month after birth, keeps identical values to the NCHS ones during childhood, and reaches to a lower centile channel of 30th-50th in weight and 20th-30th in height at the age of 16. ?? analysis of each centile curve of the ?? Korean growth reference with the NCHS ?? and the study result conducted for the sample of 679 infants from low-income households in Korea seems to support the theory. These facts may well lead us to believe ?? genetic difference matters, and the Korean reference, rather than the NCHS one, can ?? vide us more accurate and safer ?? the nutritional status and growth performance of Korean children.
