-SiNx:H thin films of different stoichiometry grown by PECVD were subjected to irradiation by 100 MeV Au8+ ions with various fluences to understand the effect of stoichiometry on properties of thin films upon irradiation. Ellipsometry and UV–Vis study suggest the variation in the refractive index of thin films with fluence. The evolution of Hydrogen due to irradiation is quantified with the help of ERDA. RBS was probed to study the change in thin films’ composition upon irradiation, which further helps understand the change in thin films’ optical properties. Quenching of photoluminescence in the films with all stoichiometries was also observed due to ion irradiation. X-TEM images show the formation of discontinuous ion tracks of radius 2.5 nm in the film closer to silicon nitride stoichiometry. However, Si rich film does not show the clear formation of tracks. Results are explained in the framework of the Thermal spike mechanism of ion-solid interaction.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has spread worldwide. It is still a pandemic and poses major health problem across the globe. In our review, clinical characteristics and laboratory parameters of COVID-19 patients were compiled systematically, with special reference to pregnant women in order to understand the disease course. An extensive literature search on various scientific databases for relevant manuscripts was conducted, which yielded 7 manuscripts for final analysis. The most common symptoms were fever (85%), cough (70.63%), chest tightness (37.36%), expectoration (33.27%), fatigue (32%), dyspnea (31.95%), and shortness of breath (31.19%), while hemoptysis (1.0%) was the least common. The associated comorbidities were hypertension (21.6%) and diabetes (10.0%). In terms of hematological parameters, lower total leukocyte counts were observed in 65% of cases and biochemical parameters, patients demonstrated elevated levels of albumin (53.72%), lactate dehydrogenase (45.71%), and natriuretic peptide (34.84%); however, total bilirubin was elevated in only 8% of cases. In the acute inflammatory cytokine profile, C-reactive protein (59.0%), tumor necrosis factor (58.0%), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (57.0%), interleukin-2 (IL- 2, 54.0%), and IL-6 (52.0%) levels were increased, while prolactin levels (6.5%) were minimally elevated. The recovery rate was approximately 41%, and mortality was about 6.5%. The study also concluded that the clinical symptoms of COVID-19 were similar among pregnant and non-pregnant women. There was no evidence of vertical transmission of COVID-19 infection. This review critically analyzed COVID-19 as a public health hazard in order to help policy makers, health care givers, and primary physicians to promote early diagnosis and prevention.

Background/Aims: Patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) often require immunosuppressive therapy and blood transfusions and therefore are at a high risk of contracting infections due to hepatitis B (HBV) and hepatitis C (HCV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). In the present study, we assessed the prevalence of these infections in patients with IBD. Methods: This retrospective study included 908 consecutive patients with IBD (ulcerative colitis [UC], n=581; Crohn`s disease [CD], n=327) who were receiving care at a tertiary care center. Ninety-five patients with intestinal tuberculosis (ITB) were recruited as disease controls. Prospectively maintained patient databases were reviewed for the prevalence of HBV surface antigen, anti-HCV antibodies, and HIV (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay method). HCV RNA was examined in patients who tested positive for anti-HCV antibodies. Prevalence data of the study were compared with that of the general Indian population (HBV, 3.7%; HCV, 1%; HIV, 0.3%). Results: The prevalence of HBV, HCV, and HIV was 2.4%, 1.4%, and 0.1%, respectively, in the 908 patients with IBD. Among the 581 patients with UC, 2.2% (12/541) had HBV, 1.7% (9/517) had HCV, and 0.2% (1/499) had HIV. Among the 327 patients with CD, 2.8% (8/288) had HBV, 0.7% (2/273) had HCV, and 0% (0/277) had HIV. One patient with CD had HBV and HCV coinfection. The prevalence of HBV, HCV, and HIV in patients with ITB was 5.9% (4/67), 1.8% (1/57), and 1.2% (1/84), respectively. Conclusions: The prevalence of HBV, HCV, and HIV in north Indian patients with IBD is similar to the prevalence of these viruses in the general community. Nonetheless, the high risk of flare after immunosuppressive therapy mandates routine screening of patients with IBD for viral markers. (Intest Res 2017;15:97-102)
Design and Implementation of Router for NOC on FPGA
Gaurav Verma,Harsh Agarwal,Shreya Singh,Shaheem Nighat Khanam,Prateek Kumar Gupta,Vishal Jain 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Future Generation Communi Vol.9 No.12
In today’s technological era, SOC has undergone rapid evolution and is still processing at a swift pace. But due to this explosive evolution of semiconductor industry, the devices are scaling down at a rapid rate and hence, SOC today have become communication-centric. However, the existing bus architectures comprising of wires for global interconnection in SOC design are undergoing design crises as they are not able to keep up with the rate of scaling down of devices. To overcome bottleneck of communication system, NOC is an upcoming archetype. In on-chip network, router is considered as an important component. This paper proposes router, its components and parameters which affects the entire design. Thus, to validate the functioning of NOC on hardware, router has been designed in VHDL and simulated in Xilinx ISE 14.1 targeting Xilinx XC5VLX30-3 FPGA.
