        Effects of the Substitution of Mischmetal for PrNd on the Microstructures and Magnetic Properties of Rapidly Quenched (MM)PrNd-Fe-B Nanocrystalline Magnets

        Mischmetal of Bayan Obo ore was utilized to prepare the high performance (Pr7.34Nd21.86)1-xMMxFe68.7Al0.1-Cu0.12Co0.88B ribbons using melt-spinning method. Phase composition and magnetic properties were investigated at room temperature. The ribbons mainly consist of R2Fe14B phase in isotropic nanostructure. Both coercivity and maximum energy product decrease with the increase of MM content. The magnetic parameters of the ribbons with MM = 20 % in mass are Br = 7.38 kGs, Hcj = 13.66 kOe, (BH)max = 11.81 MGOe. Henkel plots were applied to demonstrate the exchange coupling interaction between grains.

        Influence of wheat-walnut intercropping on the Sitobion avenae and its predatory natural enemies

        Intercropping is widely applied all over the world, and it often causes significant changes in the number of arthropod communities. Walnut-wheat intercropping systems are commonly applied in Southern Xinjiang of China. But it is still not clear how wheat-walnut intercropping influence pest and natural enemy populations, and their ratio in wheat fields. To clarify this question and provide guidance to pest management, field surveys were conducted in Xinjiang during 2017–2019. Three intercropping treatments were tested, which were wheat-walnut 10:6, 25:6, and monoculture wheat. Our results showed that the abundance of predators (mainly ladybeetles and lacewings) increased in wheat under wheat-walnut intercropping systems (especially in intercrop treatment 10:6). Compared with monoculture wheat, the ratio of predators to Sitobion avenae was not enhanced in wheatwalnut intercropping fields. S. avenae populations increased in the walnut intercropped wheat fields. The intercropping system was not beneficial to S. avenae control in wheat fields. Different measures should be taken to strengthen the control of S. avenae in walnut intercropped wheat fields.

      • hARIP2 is a Putative Growth-promoting Factor Involved in Human Colon Tumorigenesis

        Activin is a multifunctional growth and differentiation factor of the growth factor-beta (TGF-${\beta}$) superfamily, which inhibits the proliferation of colon cancer cells. It induces phosphorylation of intracellular signaling molecules (Smads) by interacting with its type I and type II receptors. Previous studies showed that human activin receptor-interacting protein 2 (hARIP2) can reduce activin signaling by interacting with activin type II receptors; however, the activity of hARIP2 in colon cancer has yet to be detailed. In vitro, overexpression of hARIP2 reduced activin-induced transcriptional activity and enhanced cell proliferation and colony formation in human colon cancer HCT8 cells and SW620 cells. Also, hARIP2 promoted colon cancer cell apoptosis, suggesting that a vital role in the initial stage of colon carcinogenesis. In vivo, immunohistochemistry revealed that hARIP2 was expressed more frequently and much more intensely in malignant colon tissues than in controls. These results indicate that hARIP2 is involved in human colon tumorigenesis and could be a predictive maker for colon carcinoma aggressiveness.

        Detection of Powdery Mildew of Bitter Gourd Based on NIR/Fluorescence Spectra

        Purpose Powdery mildew as one of the common vegetable diseases has very rapid infection. Its outbreak will bring about disastrous consequences to vegetable output; thus, it is of key importance to do rapid identifi cation and prevention of powdery mildew. Methods In this test, 100 bitter gourd leaves were collected as research samples, and the data of near-infrared spectra, fl uorescence spectra, and chromatic values L*a*b* , and the classic K-S algorithm was adopted to divide the sample sets; then, the quantitative forecasting and qualitative discrimination models were established. First, Pearson’s correlation analysis was carried out to fi nd the feasibility of taking a * as the modeling parameter, through cross-validation; the quantitative forecasting model was optimized by the PLSR (partial least squares regression) method. The model is also optimized by extracting the spectral feature bands using the continuous projection SPA method. Results The optimization results showed that the MSC + SPA + PLSR quantitative forecasting model of near-infrared spectra could eff ectively improve model precision, which was signifi cantly higher than that of fl uorescence spectra. Classifi cation Leaner was used to establish the quantitative forecasting model. Compared with the model of near-infrared spectra, the SPA + SVM qualitative discrimination model of fl uorescence spectra could improve the identifi cation precision of powdery mildew of bitter gourd as high as 98% through training. Conclusion This study proposed diff erent combination methods based on quantitative forecasting and qualitative discrimination and could provide a method and reference to the identifi cation of powdery mildew of bitter gourd.

        Experimental Evaluation of Accelerated T1rho Relaxation Quantification in Human Liver Using Limited Spin-Lock Times

        Objective: It was reported lately that to obtain consistent liver T1rho measurement, at 3T MRI using six spin-lock times (SLTs), is feasible. In this study, the feasibility of using three or two SLT points to measure liver T1rho relaxation time was explored. Materials and Methods: Seventeen healthy volunteers underwent 36 examinations. Three representative axial slices were selected to cut through the upper, middle, and lower liver. A rotary echo spin-lock pulse was implemented in a 2D fast field echo sequence. Spin-lock frequency was 500 Hz and the spin-lock times of 1, 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 milliseconds (ms) were used for T1rho mapping. T1rho maps were constructed by using all 6 SLT points, three SLT points of 1, 20, and 50 ms, or two SLTs of 1 and 50 ms, respectively. Intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) and Bland and Altman plot were used to assess the measurement agreement. Results: Two examinations were excluded, due to motion artifact at the SLT of 50 ms. With the remaining 34 examinations, the ICC for 6-SLT vs. 3-SLT T1rho measurements was 0.922, while the ICC for 6-SLT vs. 2-SLT T1rho measurement was 0.756. The Bland and Altman analysis showed a mean difference of 0.19 (95% limits of agreement: -1.34, 1.73) for 6-SLT vs. 3-SLT T1rho measurement, and the mean difference of 0.89 (95% limits of agreement: -1.67, 3.45) for 6-SLT vs. 2-SLT T1rho measurement. The scan re-scan reproducibility ICC (n = 11 subjects) was 0.755, 0.727, and 0.528 for 6-SLT measurement, 3-SLT measurement, and 2-SLT measurement, respectively. Conclusion: Adopting 3 SLTs of 1, 20, and 50 ms can be an acceptable alternative for the liver T1rho measurement, while 2 SLTs of 1 and 50 ms do not provide reliable measurement.       • A Multi-center Survey of HPV Knowledge and Attitudes Toward HPV Vaccination among Women, Government Officials, and Medical Personnel in China

        Objectives: To assess knowledge of HPV and attitudes towards HPV vaccination among the general female population, government officials, and healthcare providers in China to assist the development of an effective national HPV vaccination program. Methods: A cross-sectional epidemiologic survey was conducted across 21 urban and rural sites in China using a short questionnaire. 763 government officials, 760 healthcare providers, and 11,681 women aged 15-59 years were included in the final analysis. Data were analyzed using standard descriptive statistics and logistic regression. Results: Knowledge of HPV among the general female population was low; only 24% had heard of HPV. Less than 20% of healthcare providers recognized sexually na$\ddot{i}$ve women as the most appropriate population for HPV vaccination. There was high acceptance of the HPV vaccine for all categories of respondents. Only 6% of women were willing to pay more than US $300 for the vaccine. Conclusions: Aggressive education is necessary to increase knowledge of HPV and its vaccine. Further proof of vaccine safety and efficacy and government subsidies combined with increased awareness could facilitate development and implementation of HPV vaccination in China.

        Modelling of Acoustic Waves Propagating in Nesting Fibonacci Super-Lattice Phononic Crystal

        Herein, we report construction of one kind of nesting-Fibonacci-super-lattice phononic crystal, in whichthe super-lattice cell is a well-defined Fibonacci generation sequence. We present a comparative study onband-gap structures of acoustic waves propagating in one-dimensional, nesting Fibonacci-periodic structureand simple-periodic structure. We find that there are more band gaps in nesting Fibonacci super-latticemodels, and that they present behavior different from the split-up of band gaps with different generationnumbers. With the increase of generation number, more band gaps split and occur. Additionally, whengeneration number becomes larger, Bragg scattering becomes more significant: the characteristic curvesbecome flatter and band gaps become wider. Furthermore, we study the effect of various parameters suchas density, thickness and defects on band-gap structures. Our work is significant both for understandingthe intrinsic physical properties of nesting Fibonacci sequences and for providing flexible choices to meetreal engineering requirements.

        Fully Adaptive Feedforward Feedback Synchronized Tracking Control for Stewart Platform Systems

        In this paper, a fully adaptive feedforward feedback synchronized tracking control approach is developed for precision tracking control of 6 degree of freedom (6DOF) Stewart Platform. The proposed controller is designed in decentralized form for implementation simplicity. Interconnections among different subsystems and gravity effect are eliminated by the feedforward control action. Feedback control action guarantees the stability of the system. The gains of the proposed controller can be updated on line without requiring any prior knowledge of Stewart Platform manipulator. Thus the control approach is claimed to be fully adaptive. By employing cross-coupling error technology, the proposed approach can guarantee both of position error and synchronization error converge to zero asymptotically. Because the actuators work in synchronous manner, the tracking performances are improved. The corresponding stability analysis is also presented in this paper. Finally, simulation is demonstrated to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

        A new macro-micro dual drive parallel robot for chromosome dissection

        This paper presents a parallel-structure system dually driven by six servo motors and six piezoelectric actuators. Due to the combination of macro and micro manipulators which are both of orthogonal structures, the proposed system possesses a concise structure as well as actuation isolation and output motion decoupling properties. By using a glass needle mounted on a six-dimensional force sensor in endpoint operating, this system can be applied to chromosome dissection that to make the whole process more efficient and automatic. The glass needle tip has a stroke of 106 mm in three linear motions and 18.7-arc-degrees in three angle motion directions, with servo motors adopted. It also has the resolution of 20 nanometers with the adoption of piezoelectric actuators. The kinematics, isotropy, decoupling and design considerations of the proposed robot are discussed. Workspace and resolution of both macro and micro manipulators are measured separately. The experiments are also conducted to show its capability in dissecting chromosomes.

        A Pore Size Distribution-Based Microscopic Model for Evaluatingthe Permeability of Clay

        This work aimed to propose a semi-empirical model that predicts the permeability of saturated clay using the data of mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP). First, the pore size distribution (PSD) curve obtained from an MIP test was regarded as a discrete probability function of pore diameters; thus, its shape could be characterized by probability parameters (e.g., the expected value and the standard deviation). Subsequently, these probability parameters, combined with the microporosity calculated from the volume of intruded mercury, were correlated with the permeability of clay based on Hagen-Poiseuille's equation. Next, the performance of the proposed permeability model was verified using data reported in the literature. Thereafter, the model was applied to estimate the permeability of normally consolidated (NC) and overconsolidated (OC) kaolin subjected to various triaxial loading. The results highlighted that the proposed model is capable of characterizing the sensitive variation of kaolin permeability under different overconsolidation ratios (OCRs), stress paths, and stress levels.
