A Fast and Accurate Simulation Platform of DVB-T and Performance Evaluation Using Rician channel

This paper presents a simulation platform of Digital Video Broadcasting-Terrestrial (DVB-T) Transceiver, which allows fast evaluation of receiver performance based on the DVB-T standard (ETSI EN 300 744 V1.6.1). Accurate evaluation of transceivers often requires the implementation of a link-level simulator, which tends to incur long simulation time and tremendous effort to adapt to various channel and standard variations. Our simulation platform, based on SimuLink, provides fast implementation of all building blocks of DVB-T including the 8K OFDM, all modulation, and coding schemes. In addition, it allows accurate performance evaluation under various contaminated wireless channel models. Simulation experiments demonstrate using a Rician channel that the proposed platform can easily evaluate the performance of the receiver such as bit error rate along with the C/N ratio.
