Highly sinter-stable 10 wt% Ni-xLa/MgAl<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> (x = 0-5 wt%) catalysts were prepared by co-impregnation for the combined steam and CO<SUB>2</SUB> reforming (CSCR) of coke oven gas (COG). The physicochemical properties of the catalysts were analyzed by BET, XRD, H<SUB>2</SUB> chemisorption, and H<SUB>2</SUB>-TPR. To compare the sinterstabilities, aging treatment was performed at 900 <SUP>o</SUP>C under H<SUB>2</SUB>:H<SUB>2</SUB>O:N<SUB>2</SUB> = 1:10:1.25 for 50 h. Although the Ni dispersions decrease and Ni crystallite sizes increase for all of catalysts after the aging treatment, the La-promoted catalysts had higher Ni dispersion and smaller crystallite sizes than the Ni/MgAl<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> catalyst owing to the enhancement of strong metal-support interactions. The catalytic test was carried out under CH<SUB>4</SUB>:H<SUB>2</SUB>O:CO<SUB>2</SUB>:H<SUB>2</SUB>:CO:N<SUB>2</SUB> = 1:1.2:0.4:2:0.3:0.3 at 900 <SUP>o</SUP>C and 5 atm for 40 h. The Ni-2.5La/MgAl<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> (aged) catalyst exhibited the highest activity and sinterstability owing to its high surface area and Ni dispersion. It was also confirmed that La promotion prevents the agglomeration of Ni particles through TEM.

<P>The present study investigated the effects of dielectric barrier discharge atmospheric cold plasma (DACP) treatment on the inactivation of Escherichia coli O157:H7, Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes, and Tulane virus (TV) on Romaine lettuce, assessing the influences of moisture vaporization, modified atmospheric packaging (MAP), and post-treatment storage on the inactivation of these pathogens. Romaine lettuce was inoculated with E. coli O157:H7, Salmonella, L. monocytogenes (similar to 6 log CFU/g lettuce), or TV (similar to 2 log PFU/g lettuce) and packaged in either a Petri dish (diameter: 150 mm, height: 15 mm) or a Nylon/polyethylene pouch (152 x 254 mm) with and without moisture vaporization. Additionally, a subset of pouch-packaged leaves was flushed with O-2 at 5% or 10% (balance N-2). All of the packaged lettuce samples were treated with DACP at 34.8 kV for 5 min and then analyzed either immediately or following post-treatment storage for 24 h at 4 degrees C to assess the inhibition of microorganisms. DACP treatment inhibited E. coli O157:H7, Salmonella, L. monocytogenes, and TV by 1.1 +/- 0.4, 0.4 +/- 03, 1.0 +/- 0.5 log CFU/g, and 13 +/- 0.1 log PFU/g, respectively, without environmental modifications of moisture or gas in the packages. The inhibition of the bacteria was not significantly affected by packaging type or moisture vaporization (p > 0.05) but a reduced-oxygen MAP gas composition attenuated the inhibition rates of E. coli O157:H7 and TV. L. monocytogenes continued to decline by an additional 0.6 log CFU/g in post-treatment cold storage for 24 h. Additionally, both rigid and flexible conventional plastic packages appear to be suitable for the in-package decontamination of lettuce with DACP. Published by Elsevier B.V.</P>

Single step synthesis of dimethyl ether (DME) from syngas on the bifunctional catalysts of CuO-ZnO-Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> deposited on Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB>-modified H-ferrierite was investigated to elucidate effects of Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> modification of H-ferrierite in terms of CO conversion and DME yield. The enhanced catalytic activity was observed on the bifunctional catalysts at an optimum content of Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> on H-ferrierite around 2.5-5wt%. It is attributed to a higher dispersion of Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> on H-ferrierite with an enhanced interaction of copper particles with Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> modified H-ferrierite with a lower aggregation property by adjusting acidic sites and by increasing the dispersion of copper particles. The main role of Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> on H-ferrierite is found to reduce strong acidic sites by depositing on the sites selectively, which resulted in showing a lower formation of byproducts. Both of copper surface area and amount of acidic sites are well correlated with an intrinsic activity (turn-over frequency; TOF), which revealed a structure-insensitive reaction character of a single-step synthesis of DME. The measurements of the dispersion of Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> and copper particles with the number of acidic sites concomitantly were employed to verify the effects of Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> modification of H-ferrierite though X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, temperature-programmed methods and surface morphology characterizations.

The development of a universal influenza vaccine that provides broad cross protection against existing and unforeseen influenza viruses is a critical challenge. In this study, we constructed and expressed conserved sM2 and HA2 influenza antigens with cholera toxin subunit A1 (CTA1) on the surface of Lactobacillus casei (pgsA-CTA1sM2HA2/L. casei). Oral and nasal administrations of recombinant L. casei into mice resulted in high levels of serum immunoglobulin G (IgG) and their isotypes (IgG1 & IgG2a) as well as mucosal IgA. The mucosal administration of pgsA-CTA1sM2HA2/L. casei may also significantly increase the levels of sM2- or HA2-specific cell-mediated immunity because increased release of both IFN-γ and IL-4 was observed. The recombinant pgsA-CTA1sM2HA2/L. casei provided better protection of BALB/c mice against 10 times the 50% mouse lethal doses (MLD<SUB>50</SUB>) of homologous A/EM/Korea/W149/06(H5N1) or A/Aquatic bird/Korea/W8½005 (H5N2) and heterologous A/Puerto Rico/8/34(H1N1), or A/Chicken/Korea/116/2004(H9N2) or A/Philippines/2/08(H3N2) viruses, compared with L. casei harboring sM2HA2 and also the protection was maintained up to seven months after administration. These results indicate that recombinant L. casei expressing the highly conserved sM2, HA2 of influenza and CTA1 as a mucosal adjuvant could be a potential mucosal vaccine candidate or tool to protect against divergent influenza viruses for human and animal.

Halolamina rubra CBA1107<SUP>T</SUP> (=CECT 8421<SUP>T</SUP>, JCM 19436<SUP>T</SUP>), an extremely halophilic archaeon, was isolated from non-purified solar salt in the Republic of Korea. H. rubra CBA1107<SUP>T</SUP> shows agarase activity, and its draft genome contains 2955,064bp with a G+C content of 69.0%. This is the first genome that has been sequenced in the genus Halolamina.

현재의 산업사회는 과학기술의 발달로 인하여 하루가 다르게 급속도로 발전하고 있고 산업구조의 거대화와 다양화 그리고 각종 설비 및 생산량은 증대되는데 반해 산업현장의 설비는 노후화 되고 유해물질의 사용이 증가되고 있으며, 이와 동시에 생산공정이나 사용물질의 변경주기가 빨라지고 있는 실정에 있다. 1980년대를 통해 산업보건 활동이 재검토가 진행되어 왔으며 1970년대까지 이전에 비해 현재와 산업보건의 국제적 동향은 크게 달라져가고 있다. ILO는 국제 노동기준을 만드는 일과 더불어 여러 면에서 기술협력을 이끌어가고 있는데 그 국제기준면에서도 또한 기술 협력 면에서도 달라져가고 있다. 현재까지 보건 관리사업장의 보건관리 체계에 대한 연구물들은 크게 네 분야로 진행되었다고 볼 수 있는데 첫째로는 중소규모 사업장의 보건관리 실태를 살펴본 것이고(김수근과 박정일, 1993) 둘째로는 보건관리 사업의 수요자측의 인식 및 실천에 관한 연구(이명숙, 1996), 셋째로는 보건관리 사업의 제공자 측에 대한 연구(김규상 등, 1994), 넷째로는 사업장 보건관리 사업에 대한 평가에 댛나 연구(조수헌 등, 1995)로 나누어 볼 수 있다.
A trap baited with multiple pheromones attracts sympatric hemipteran pests of sweet persimmon

Sympatric hemipterans such as Riptortus pedestris Thunberg (Hemiptera: Alydidae), Plautia stali Scott (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), and Halyomorpha halys Stal (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) are reported as economic pests of persimmon fruits in Korea and Japan. Multi-attractiveness of the aggregation pheromones (AP) of R. pedestris and P. stali mounted on a single sticky trap was evaluated for the sympatric hemipteran pests of persimmon fruit. Four trap types were prepared; traps mounted with R. pedestris AP alone (lure R), P. stali AP alone (lure P), R. pedestris and P. stali AP mixed in a septum (lure R+P), and traps with two parallel lures (lure R/P). R. pedestris was equally captured in traps carrying lures R+P and R/P. P. stali and Gymnosoma rotundatum (Diptera: Tachinidae), a parasitoid of P. stali, were attracted to the traps included P. stali AP lures; P, R+P, and R/P. All traps carrying lure P attracted H. halys and Glaucias subpunctatus (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), a pest of Japanese cedar and cypress, with no significant difference from control. This study shows that a single trap baited with pheromones of R. pedestris and P. stali together, mixed, or set in parallel, is effective to attract sympatric hemipteran pests of sweet persimmon, R. pedestris, P. stali, G. subpunctatus, and H. halys, in addition to G. rotundatum. Attracting multispecies simultaneously could be a viable option in managing these sympatric pest species.
중년 사무직 남성의 직무스트레스와 허리둘레, 체질량지수의 관계에 관한 연구

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between job stress, body mass index and waist circumference among middle aged male workers. Methods: Using a descriptive correlation study design, a total of 122 middle aged male workers were recruited through convenience sampling from November 8 to December 13, 2015. The questionnaire included in this study were general characteristics and the Korean Occupational Stress Scale-Short Form (KOSS-SF). Data were statistically analyzed using SPSS windows version 22 program with Pearson’s correlation coefficient. Results: A significant relationship was found between job stress, body mass index (p=.043) and waist circumference (p=.007). Conclusion: These results suggest that high job stress are significantly associated with both body mass index and waist circumference of middle aged male workers. This implies a need for intervention that focuses on reducing obesity and metabolic syndrome influenced by job stress.
