Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common human malignant neoplasm, accounting for 75% of all non-melanoma skin cancer. The incidence of BCC is strongly correlated with sun exposure as well as older age. Therefore, the vast majority of BCCs is observed in elderly patients on the sun-exposed skin of the head and neck with a frequency of more than 80%. BCC is very rare on sun-protected skin such as the perianal and genital regions and other etiologic factors must be considered in these cases. Although the pathogenesis of vulvar BCC is unclear, early diagnosis is very important. Because BCC in these areas sometimes seems innocuous, it is recommended that a biopsy of all suspect lesions be performed. We report a woman with BCC of the vulva treated with wide local resection and reviews the literatures on this subject.

Background : Gastric cancer is the most common malignant tumor in Korea. surgical operation is one of the major treatment modalities for gastric cancer patients. Therefore, gastrectomy is one of the most common procedures in General Surgery. There were variation in length of hospital stay and medical treatment for gastrectomy between three surgeons at Asan Medical Center. Clinical pathways have received considerable attention as a tool for recucing the medical practice variation, increasing the efficiency of care process, and improving the quality of care. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a clinical pathway for gastrectomy in gastric cancer patients. Methods : The clinical pathway for gastrectomy was developed and implemented by a multidisciplinary group in Asan Medical Center. A computerized clinical pathway program was developed and revised after a pilot test. A total of 145 patients underwent gastrectomy by three surgeons at Asan Medical Center. We compared the length of hospital stay, patient satisfaction, and unplanned readmission rate between the pre-pathway group(n=67) and the post-pathway group(n=78). We also investigated the degree of satisfaction among the physicians and nurses who were main end-users of the clinical pathway. Results : The clinical pathway was applied to all target patients. The average length of hospital stay was shortened from 12.7days to 10.6days(p<0.01). The degree of patient satisfaction with the care process changed from 90.3% to 89.2% after the implementation of the clinical pathway, but the difference was of satistically significant(p=0.761). Unplanned readmission rate was 2.9% in the pre-pathway group. More than 90% of physicians and nurses answered that the clinical pathway had been a useful tool in their medical practice. Conclusions : The findings of the study demonstrated that implementation of the clinical pathway for gastrectomy produced substantial reduction in the length of hospital stay while improving the quality of patient outcomes. The computerized clinical pathway program can be used as one of the powerful patient management tools for reducing the practice variations and increasing the efficiency of care process in Korea hospital settings.

The effectiveness of programming athletic meets and events is an essential factor for the promotion of the nation's physical education. And rational operation of the athletic programs and events has decisive effect upon the development and direction of our nation, s physical education. Therefore, these are the problems that are very urgent and important at the present moment when the reconstruction of our nations physical education is emphasized. These athletic meets held and operated in the various areas of the country are like the omnibus that contains all kinds of procedures and methods essential to the nation's better physical education and to attain higher standard of sports. The author thought that children's play instruction is beneficial for all children in physical education. Astudy of CO Gas Analysis of Hole-Briquette (Part-two) This study is aimed to increase the heat efficiency arid to decrease the evolution of carbon monooxide during the combustion of holed coal-briquet by using of covered fire-box, and determined carbon monooxide versus combustion time and numbers of air-hole by the using of Orsat gas analyzer. The obtained results are as follows. (1) Carbon monooxide are evolved the least quantity between 9th and 12th hour from the begining of combustion. (2) Combustion time of holed coal-briquet is not showed the difference to fire-boxes of A-type (φ160rnm) and B-type (φ165mm). (3) The exhausted temperature from the covered fire-boxes is higher than non·covered fire-boxes.

The scope of the study was limited to those child-games worthy of juvenile education and physical training.
