Goldman Sachs recently laid off 598 top talents, while Google and NASA established a singularity university. As we enter the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, each company and university is nurturing talent for the age of artificial intelligence(AI). As factories and various facilities are automated and AI and the Internet of Things (IoT) enter homes and businesses, interest in automation is gradually increasing, and AI robots are replacing human jobs. Therefore, a study was conducted on the implementation of a sorting robot for smart factory automation. The hardware of the robot was realized using TETRIX, and it was configured to recognize the color of blocks and classify the object using NXT color sensors. The color sensor is used to determine the type of a block and a linetracer is to help figure out location, and the block was placed in the right place. The control program was implemented using LabVIEW, and the NXT was implemented to control the robot through the signal obtained from the color sensor.

<P>A combination of the multifrequency <I>C</I>- <I>V</I> and the generation-recombination current spectroscopy is proposed for a complete extraction of density of states (DOS) in amorphous InGaZnO thin-film transistors (a-IGZO TFTs) over the full subband-gap energy range (<I>EV</I> ≤ <I>E</I> ≤ <I>EC</I>) including the interface trap density between the gate oxide and the a-IGZO active layer. In particular, our result on the separate extraction of acceptor- and donor-like DOS is noticeable for a systematic design of amorphous oxide semiconductor TFTs because the former determines their dc characteristics and the latter does their threshold voltage (<I>VT</I>) instability under practical operation conditions. The proposed approach can be used to optimize the fabrication process of thin-film materials with high mobility and stability for mass-production-level amorphous oxide semiconductor TFTs.</P>

<P>The effect of the active layer thickness (<I>T</I>IGZO) on the negative bias stress (NBS)-induced threshold voltage shift (Δ<I>VT</I>) in amorphous InGaZnO (a-IGZO) thin-film transistors (TFTs) is investigated and explained by using a subgap density-of-states (DOS) model. The NBS-induced negative Δ<I>VT</I> in a-IGZO TFT with a thinner <I>T</I>IGZO is larger than that with a thicker <I>T</I>IGZO. Based on the simulation result with the subgap DOS model, it is concluded that the <I>T</I>IGZO-dependent Δ<I>VT</I> is originated from the accelerated creation of shallow donor states due to a higher surface electric field in a-IGZO TFTs with a thinner <I>T</I>IGZO.</P>

Yonsei Dermatology celebrated its centennial in 2017, marking 100 years since Kung Sun Oh established the first Department of Dermatology and Urology in Korea in 1917. Following the footsteps of Kung Sun Oh, a pioneer of Korean dermatology, its members united and worked to provide the best medical service and achieve academic milestones in dermatology. Over the past hundred years, Yonsei Dermatology has played a pivotal role in the advancement of medical science and academia in Korea. The main activities of the department include medical care, education, and dermatologic research. Its research activities have encompassed a wide spectrum of dermatologic manifestations from skin immunology and pathology to introduction of newly developed treatment technologies. As Kung Sun Oh was the first Korean professor of dermatology at Severance Medical School and a passionate educator, we continue to serve his will by nurturing medical students and dermatology special-ists to serve as global medical leaders. The Kung Sun Oh Memorial Lecture, first hosted in 1977, was the beginning of mutual international academic exchange in the field of dermatology in Korea. The memorial lecture has played a major role in advancing the academic status of Korean dermatological science by inviting distinguished dermatologists from around the world as guest lecturers. Yonsei Dermatology has played a key role in the history of modern medicine and dermatology in Korea over the last 100 years and continues to make an impact. (Ann Dermatol 30(5) 513∼521, 2018)

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The-state-of-art CRISPR/Cas9 is one of the most powerful among the approaches being developed to rescue fundamental causes of gene-based inheritable diseases. Several strategies for delivering such genome editing materials have been developed, but the safety, efficacy over time, cost of production, and gene size limitations are still under debate and must be addressed to further improve applications. In this study, we evaluated branched forms of the polyethylenimine (PEI) – branched PEI 25 kDa (BPEI-25K) – and found that it could efficiently deliver CRISPR/Cas9 plasmids. Plasmid DNA expressing both guide RNA and Cas9 to target the <I>Slc26a4</I> locus was successfully delivered into Neuro2a cells and meditated genome editing within the targeted locus. Our results demonstrated that BPEI-25K is a promising non-viral vector to deliver the CRISPR/Cas9 system <I>in vitro</I> to mediate targeted gene therapy, and these findings contribute to an understanding of CRISPR/Cas9 delivery that may enable development of successful <I>in vivo</I> techniques.</P> <P><B>Graphical Abstract</B></P> <P>Schematic of gene delivery by cationic polymer polyethylenimine (PEI) – branched PEI 25 kDa (BPEI-25K). The plasmid expressing both CRISPR/Cas9 and guide RNA forms compact complexes with BPEI-25K and is protected from degradation by lysosomal enzymes. The plasmid DNA is released into the cytosol and enters into the nucleus. The plasmid is translated into Cas9:sgRNA complex and nuclear localized for gene editing.</P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
