The oriental fruit moth (OFM), Grapholita molesta (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae), is a serious pest of stone and pome fruit trees worldwide. G. molesta can switch hosts and produce multiple generations per year. Both the primary and secondary host plants of G. molesta emit aldehydes. Here, we tested whether these aldehydes are helpful for host switching of G. molesta. SPME (Solid Phase Microextraction)-GC–MS analysis identified four aldehydes (octanal, nonanal, decanal, and benzaldehyde) from volatiles of late-season yellow peach fruits. Of the four aldehydes, eletroantennogram analysis showed that nonanal produced the strongest response from the antennae of virgin and mated females. In Y-tube bioassays, only nonanal was attractive to mated G. molesta females amongst the four aldehydes, suggesting that nonanal is important for host recognition in G. molesta. In a field trial, each of the four aldehydes was tested as an attractant for both sexes of G. molesta. The traps baited with nonanal captured more female G. molesta, as compared to traps with other aldehydes and control; the traps baited with benzaldehyde captured most male G. molesta. Our research investigations provide theoretical foundation for biological control of G. molesta females. Future G. molesta lure designs should take into account sex-specific differences in the response to individual aldehydes.

In this paper, the outage performance of multiuser multiple-input single-output (MISO) systems exploiting joint spatial and multiuser diversities is investigated for Rayleigh fading channels with outdated feedback. First, we derive closed-form exact outage probabilities for the joint diversity schemes that combine user scheduling with different spatial diversity techniques, including: 1) transmit maximum-ratio combining (TMRC); 2) transmit antenna selection (TAS); and 3) orthogonal space-time block coding (OSTBC). Then the asymptotic outage probabilities are analyzed to gain more insights into the effect of feedback delay. It is observed that with outdated feedback, the asymptotic diversity order of the multiuser OSTBC (M-OSTBC) scheme is equal to the number of transmit antennas at the base station, while that of the multiuser TMRC (M-TMRC) and the multiuser TAS (M-TAS) schemes reduce to one. Further by comparing the asymptotic outage probabilities, it is found that the M-TMRC scheme outperforms the M-TAS scheme, and the M-OSTBC scheme can perform best in the outage regime of practical interest when the feedback delay is large. Theoretical analysis is verified by simulation results.

The single-channel wireless sensor networks (WSNs) exists the problem of low efficiency of monitoring data transmission, however the multi-channel WSNs exists the problem of communication collision caused by the sensor node’s wireless channel competition. The paper at first introduces the causes of the above problems and selects a reasonable wireless channel resources allocation method of the multi-channel WSNs. Then to solve these questions, the theory of compressive sensing and spectrum sensing are adopted to improve the existing multi-channel WSNs. Finally, a new sensor node of the multi-channel WSNs is designed based on the above improvement. By analyzing the monitoring data of the field test, the improved multi-channel WSNs could complete monitoring mission efficiently and accurately, meanwhile it reduced power consumption of the WSNs effectively.

Aiming at the increasing demand of the monitoring of mechanical vibration signals, by improving the existing Sensor Monitoring Network, a low-power wireless sensor network is designed. The data transmission efficiency is increased by using the compressed sensing (CS) technology to compress the mechanical vibration signals of the devices monitored by the network. To realize real-time processing of monitoring signals, the FPGA+DSP architecture is treated as the core of the equipment processing the mechanical vibration signals of wireless sensor network. The modified designs of the hardware circuit and logic circuit with regard to the data collection, sampling, transmission, processing and the store section are introduced initially. Further, the effects of the improved Sensor Monitoring Network are tested by the experimental study on the rotating equipment. The results show that the real-time processing can be well implemented and the power can be cut down to a certain degree.
QBCO and NSQBCO Based Multi-User Single-Relay Selection Scheme in Cooperative Relay Networks

In cooperative relay networks with multiple users and multiple potential relays, which relay nodes are selected has great impact on the system performance. It is an optimization problem for selecting suitable relay nodes. The exhaustive search can solve this problem but the complexity will increase factorially with the network size, i.e., the number of users and the number of relays in the network. In this paper, we formulate both single-objective and multi-objective relay selection problems. For single-objective relay selection problem, only one system objective is considered. A novel quantum bee colony optimization (QBCO) based relay selection scheme is proposed. For multi-objective relay selection problem, two contradictive objectives are considered simultaneously. A novel non-dominated sorting quantum bee colony optimization (NSQBCO) based relay selection scheme is proposed. Simulation results show that the proposed relay selection schemes have the ability to find global optimal solution but have less computational complexity compared with exhaustive search scheme.

An extracellular β-glucosidase from Aspergillus niger Au0847 was purified to homogeneity by precipitation with ammonium sulfate, anion exchange, and gel filtration. The purified protein was composed of two subunits with molecular masses of 110 and 120 kDa. Au0847 β-glucosidase exhibited relatively high thermostability and pH stability, and its highest activity was obtained at 65°C and pH 4.6, respectively. As a potential metalloprotein, its enzymatic activity was potently stimulated by manganese ion and DTT. The β-glucosidase displayed avid affinity and high catalytic efficiency for geniposide. Au0847 β-glucosidase has potential value as an industrial enzyme for the hydrolysis of geniposide to genipin.
