Analysis of biaxial proportional low-cycle fatigue and biaxial accumulative plasticity of hull inclined-crack plate

        Deng Junlin,Tu Wenling,Xiong Kang,Yang Ping,Dong Qin 대한조선학회 2022 International Journal of Naval Architecture and Oc Vol.14 No.1

Fracture induced failure of plates in hull structures subjected to in-plane biaxial low-cycle fatigue loading are generally a combination of accumulative plasticity and biaxial low-cycle fatigue damage. A biaxial low-cycle fatigue crack growth analysis of a hull structure that accounts for the accumulative plasticity effect can be suitable for the actual evaluation of the overall fracture induced failure of the hull structure in severe sea conditions. An analytical model of biaxial low-cycle fatigue crack propagation with a control parameter for the J integral was presented for hull inclined-crack plate. The test was conducted for cruciform specimens made of Q235 steel with an inclined crack to validate the presented analysis. The biaxial accumulative plasticity behaviour and the effects of the biaxiality and stress ratios were investigated by numerical analysis. The results of this study reveal a strong dependence of biaxial low-cycle fatigue crack propagation on biaxial accumulated plasticity.

Flexural Strengthening of Two-Way RC Slabs with Textile Reinforced Mortar: Experimental Study and Calculation Model

        Zongcai Deng,Qian Xia,Minggao Gong,Junlin Xu 대한토목학회 2023 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.27 No.12

Textile reinforced mortar (TRM) strengthening can improve the anti-aging performance of reinforced concrete (RC) slabs, and significantly improve the rust problem of steel plates and bending performance of RC slabs. To study the effect of TRM on the flexural capacity of two-way RC slab, four sided simply supported bending tests were conducted on two TRM strengthened concrete slabs and an unstrengthened control slab. And the effects of different strengthening techniques on the flexural capacity and bending deformation capacity of the two-way RC slabs were investigated. It was concluded that the application of TRM to strengthen the two-way RC slabs can effectively improve its bending bearing capacity and bending deformation capacity. Compared with the unstrengthened control slab, the bending bearing capacity of the two strengthened slabs increased by 54.2% and 43.8%, respectively, and the energy absorption value increased by 75.5% and 49.1%, respectively. In addition, compared with control slab, the post-cracking stiffness of TRM reinforced slabs treated with and without interface agents increased by 145.2% and 83.4%, respectively. This indicated that using interface agents for interface treatment could improve the adhesion between the TRM and the original RC slab, thereby preventing the initiation and development of cracks between the new and old interfaces. The strength utilization rate of textile was proposed, and the relationship between strength utilization rate of textile and maximum or minimum distribution network rate was analyzed. Based on the plastic hinge theory a simple calculation formula for the bending bearing capacity of the two-way RC slab strengthened with TRM was proposed, which provided the reference for the application of TRM for strengthening projects.

Antioxidant Activities and Functional Properties of Tea Seed Protein Hydrolysates (Camellia oleifera Abel.) Influenced by the Degree of Enzymatic Hydrolysis

        Xu Li,Shian Shen,Junlin Deng,Tian Li,Chun-Bang Ding 한국식품과학회 2014 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.23 No.6

Antioxidant activities and functional propertiesof tea seed protein hydrolysates (TSPH) prepared usingalcalase with different (10, 20, 30 and 40%) values of thedegree of hydrolysis (DH) were investigated. The effect ofhydrolysis time on antioxidant activity was also investigated. As the hydrolysis time was extended, the DPPH radicalscavenging activity increased and finally reached a plateau, the copper chelating capacity decreased, and the superoxideradical scavenging and iron chelating activities increasedinitially, then subsequently slowed. The solubility, foamingproperties, and emulsification properties of TSPH wereaffected by pH and DH. As the DH value increased, theDPPH radical scavenging activity and the reducing powerincreased and the copper chelating capacity decreased. TSPH at 20 and 30% DH values exhibited higher superoxideradical scavenging and stronger iron chelating activitiesrespectively, than TSPH at other DH values. The DH valueof TSPH affected the antioxidant activity and functionalproperties.

Comparison of Transoral Anterior Jefferson-Fracture Reduction Plate and Posterior Screw-Rod Fixation in C1-Ring Osteosynthesis for Unstable Atlas Fractures

        Mandi Cai,Yifeng Wu,Rencai Ma,Junlin Chen,Zexing Chen,Chenfu Deng,Xinzhao Huang,Xiangyang Ma,Xiaobao Zou 대한척추신경외과학회 2024 Neurospine Vol.21 No.2

Objective: To compare the clinical outcomes of transoral anterior Jefferson-fracture reduction plate (JeRP) and posterior screw rod (PSR) surgery for unstable atlas fractures via C1-ring osteosynthesis. Methods: From June 2009 to June 2022, 49 consecutive patients with unstable atlas fractures were treated by transoral anterior JeRP fixation (JeRP group) or PSR fixation (PSR group) and followed up at General Hospital of Southern Theatre Command of PLA; 30 males and 19 females were included. The visual analogue scale (VAS) score, Neck Disability Index (NDI), distance to anterior arch fracture (DAAF), distance to posterior arch fracture (DPAF), lateral mass displacement (LMD), Redlund-Johnell value, postoperative complications, and fracture healing rate were retrospectively collected and statistically analyzed. Results: Compared with that in the PSR group, the bleeding volume in the JeRP group was lower, and the length of hospital stay was longer. The VAS scores and NDIs of both groups were significantly improved after surgery. The postoperative DAAF and DPAF were significantly smaller after surgery in both groups. Compared with the significantly shorter DPAF in the PSR group, the JeRP group had a smaller DAAF, shorter LMDs and larger RedlundJohnell value postoperatively and at the final follow-up. The fracture healing rate at 3 months after surgery was significantly greater in the JeRP group (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Both C1-ring osteosynthesis procedures for treating unstable atlas fractures yield satisfactory clinical outcomes. Transoral anterior JeRP fixation is more effective than PSR fixation for holistic fracture reduction and short-term fracture healing, but the hospital stay is longer.
