마우스 골수 소핵 시험에 의한 디젤분진, HgCl_(2) 및 Pb(Ac)_2의 유전독성효과

The clastogenic effects of the diesel emission particle extrace(DEPE), mercuric chloride and lead acetate were examined by the mouse bone marrow micronucleus test. DEPE had a potent clastogenic effect by intraperitoneal injection with dose-response between 100 and 300mg/kg b.w.. Mercuric chloride and lead acetate also gave a clastogenic effects but mercuric chloride only had a dose-response between 1 and 3mg/kg b.w.. When DEPE was administrated with mercuric shloride or lead acetate, the frequency of micronucleated cells was slight but not significant incresase in comparision to a single treatment with DEPE alone.

Background: Confrontational naming test is useful in evaluating the language function. It reveals memory and cognitive processing dysfunctions in many neurologic diseases including dementia. Although the Korean version of the Boston Naming Test (K-BNT) has been a popular and useful test, it takes much time and effort in dementia patients of moderate to severe stage of disease or in elderly individual with low educational level. So we developed the Korean Naming Test (KNT). Methods: KNT consists of relatively easy 40 items. Each item was familar materials around us and simplified figures with black thick line. Ninety two of probable Alzheimer's patients received the Korean version of Mini-Mental State Examination (K-MMSE), the Korean version of expanded Clinical Dementia Rating Scale (CDR), K-BNT and KNT. We tested reliability and validity of KNT and also evaluated scores of the KNT along with CDR. Results: The KNT correlated with K-BNT [0.75(p;0.01)], CDR [-0.49(p;0.01)], K-MMSE [0.55(p;0.01)]. The internal consistency was 0.91 (Cronbach's alpha). The KNT score decreased as the disease progressed. Conclusions: The KNT is a brief and good test for evaluating language function of moderate to severe dementia patients with low educational level. Also it is sensitive to mild stage of disease and has a excellent reliability and validity.
방실결절회귀빈맥의 치료에서 Slow Pathway 의 Radiofrequency Catheter Ablation 에 관한 연구

Atrioventricular(AV) nodal reentry is a common cause of supraventricular tachycardia. For the treatment of atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT), antiarrhythmic drug therapy requires long-term use of drugs and surgical ablation may be curative therapy but has problems of open heart surgery. Radiofrequency catheter ablation(RFCA) is reported to be safe and effective treatment modality for the frequently recurrent and severely symptomatic AVNRT. The results of treatment of AVNRT by RFCA of slow pathway is as follows. 1) The study consisted of 32 participants and the sex ratio (M: F) waw 8:24, the mean age was 40.9±15.8 yrs(19-72yrs). 2) At the electrophysiological study before RFCA, the type of reentry was common in 29 cases, uncommon in 1 case and in 2 cases were both common and uncommon type. 3) The applied modes of RFCA were constant power mode in 2 cases and temperature mode in 30 cases. 4) The number of radiofrequency current application till successful ablation was 12.1±9.1(3-39)and the mean power of applicated radiofequency current was 28.7±10.8W(8.2-41.3W). 5) Effective refractory period of antegrade fast pathwy (ERPfa) after ablation (220.0±43.3msec), in comparison with that before ablation(253.3±55. 8msec), has no statistical significance but has reducing tendency. The other parameters such as AH interval of antegrade fast pathway (AHfa), antegrade Wenckebach block cycle length (AWBCL), effective refractory period period of ventriculoatrial conduction system (ERPvacs) and ventriculoatrial block cycle length (VABCL) have no significant differences. 6) Complete AV block developed in only 1 patient who had underlying sinus dysfunction. 7) The follow-up duration was 7±3 months(1-13 months)and there was no AVNRT recurrence during this period. We conclude that the selective RFCA of slow pathway is a safe and effective treatment of AVNRT.

A comprehensive collection of proteins senses local changes in intracellular Ca<sup>2+</sup> concentrations ([Ca<sup>2+</sup>]<sub>i</sub>) and transduces these signals into responses to agonists. In the present study, we examined the effect of sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) on modulation of intracellular Ca<sup>2+</sup> concentrations in cat esophageal smooth muscle cells. To measure [Ca<sup>2+</sup>]<sub>i</sub> levels in cat esophageal smooth muscle cells, we used a fluorescence microscopy with the Fura-2 loading method. S1P produced a concentration-dependent increase in [Ca<sup>2+</sup>]<sub>i</sub> in the cells. Pretreatment with EGTA, an extracellular Ca<sup>2+</sup> chelator, decreased the S1P-induced increase in [Ca<sup>2+</sup>]<sub>i</sub>, and an L-type Ca<sup>2+</sup>-channel blocker, nimodipine, decreased the effect of S1P. This indicates that Ca<sup>2+</sup> influx may be required for muscle contraction by S1P. When stimulated with thapsigargin, an intracellular calcium chelator, or 2-Aminoethoxydiphenyl borate (2-APB), an InsP<sub>3</sub> receptor blocker, the S1P-evoked increase in [Ca<sup>2+</sup>]<sub>i</sub> was significantly decreased. Treatment with pertussis toxin (PTX), an inhibitor of Gi-protein, suppressed the increase in [Ca<sup>2+</sup>]<sub>i</sub> evoked by S1P. These results suggest that the S1P-induced increase in [Ca<sup>2+</sup>]<sub>i</sub> in cat esophageal smooth muscle cells occurs upon the activation of phospholipase C and subsequent release of Ca<sup>2+</sup> from the InsP<sub>3</sub>-sensitive Ca<sup>2+</sup> pool in the sarcoplasmic reticulum. These results suggest that S1P utilized extracellular Ca<sup>2+</sup> via the L type Ca<sup>2+</sup> channel, which was dependent on activation of the S1P<sub>4</sub> receptor coupled to PTX-sensitive G<sub>i</sub> protein, via phospholipase Cmediated Ca<sup>2+</sup> release from the InsP<sub>3</sub>-sensitive Ca<sup>2+</sup> pool in cat esophageal smooth muscle cells.

<P>Flexible transparent conductive films (TCFs) of TiO2 nanosheet (TiO2 NS) and silver nanowire (Ag NW) network hybrid were prepared through a simple and scalable solution-based process. The as-formed TiO2 NS-Ag NW hybrid TCF shows a high optical transmittance (TT: 97% (90.2% including plastic substrate)) and low sheet resistance (R-s: 40 Omega/sq). In addition, the TiO2 NS Ag NW hybrid TCF exhibits a long-time chemical/aging and electromechanical stability. As for the chemical/aging stability, the hybrid TCF of Ag NW and TiO2 NS reveals a retained initial conductivity (Delta R-S/R-S < 1%) under ambient oxidant gas over a month, superior to that of bare Ag NW (Delta R-s/R-s > 4000%) or RuO2 NS Ag NW hybrid (Delta R-s/R-s > 200%). As corroborated by the density functional theory simulation, the superb chemical stability of TiO2 NS-Ag NW hybrid is attributable to the unique role of TiO2 NS as a barrier, which prevents Ag NW's chemical corrosion via the attenuated adsorption of sulfidation molecules (H2S) on TiO2 NS. With respect to the electromechanical stability, in contrast to Ag NWS (Delta R/R-0 similar to 152.9%), our hybrid TCF shows a limited increment of fractional resistivity (Delta R/R-0 similar to 14.4%) after 200 000 cycles of the 1R bending test (strain: 6.7%) owing to mechanically welded Ag NW networks by TiO2 NS. Overall, our unique hybrid of TiO2 NS and Ag NW exhibits excellent electrical/optical properties and reliable chemical/electromechanical stabilities.</P>
A Case of Isolated Angiitis of the Central Nervous System

Isolated central nervous system(CNS) angiitis is a rare disease limited to vessels within the CNS and always involves small vessels. The disease has been considered rare, with only 46 cases reported in the English literature prior to 1986, but its pathogenesis is unknown. We experienced a case of isolated angiitis of CNS, presenting in a 61 year old male patient who had suffered headache, bizarre behavior, mental change and left hemiparesis. After excluding systemic angiitis and bacterial CNS infection, the diagnosis of isolated angiitis of the CNS was made by confirmation of brain biopsy. This might be the first pathologically confirmed case of isolated CNS vasculitis in Korea. So we report this case with the review of literature.
