      • 성견 치조골 결손부의 치유를 위한 이식재 사용시 치근면 처치 효과에 관한 연구

        Recent research has focused on development of preditable procedures aimed at obtaining new connective tissue attachment to previously diseased root surfaces. Citric acid & tetracycline HCl treatment of exposed root surfaces have been shown to demineralize dentin and thus demineralization of the root surface resulted in greater all attachment. The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of tetracycline HCl and citric acid root treatments on the aspect of apical migration of epithelial cell, the degree of attachment of connective tissue, the new cementum formation & the degree of new alveolar bone formation around the grafted materials. When additionally the root surface is treated with citric acid or tetracycline & the Hydroxyapatite is grafted during the flap operation surgical alveolar defect was formed in lower right & left premolar area of adult dog. Experimental chronic periodontitis is induced by ligation the surgical alveolar defect with orthodontic wire. The control group is only performed flap operation while additional use of tetracycline or citric acid on root surface in the experimental group. Thereafter the experimental animals were sacrificed at 1, 2, 4, 8 weeks. After the histologic assessment was perfomed, the following results were acquired 1. The control group is similar to experimental group by the first week but thereafter apical migration of epithelium were seen and new bone formation were not distinct. 2. The new cementum formation & fibrous connective tissue attachment on the root surface were seen in citric-acid group & tetracyclin group and apical migration of epithelium was very delayed. There was no distinct difference between the two experimental groups. 3. In both group, new bone formation surrounding the graft material was observed but the rate of new bone formation of tetracycline group was superior to the citric acid group.

        문신치료의 실험적 연구

        In general social opinions of developed cultural state, tattoos induced psychological and social problems. Since Hellenic times, the removal of unwanted tattoos has been a challenge: for example, salabrasion, dermabrasion, LASER surgery, skin graft and cryosugery, etc. But the availability of manay methods for the removal of tattoos appears to indicate that there is no one absolute method. So we studied macroscopical color changes and microscopical histological changes in tattooed rabbits and rats, and overtattooed rabbits and rats. The results were as following: 1. Inflammatory reactions was nearly almost disapperared within 3 weeks. 2. The major fade―out of tattooed color was occurred from post―tattooing 5 days to 3 weeks. 3. Dye particle was located mainly in upper & mid dermis and it was not relafted with tattooing depth. 4. Masking effect of black colored tattoos was definitely improved in the overtattooing group. But complete masking was impossible.

      • 치은 섬유아세포 배양시 합성되는 단백질에 관한 연구

        This experiment was performed to study the effects of fibroblast growth factor(FGF) and fetal bovine serum(FBS) on the protein synthesis and proliferation of human gingival fibroblasts. Gingival tissues obtained from healthy human were diced into 1 ㎣ and cultured in α-MEM containing 50% FBS for 7~10 days. After treatment with trypsin-DETA, the collected gingival fibroblasts were cultured in α-MEM with 10% FBS until confluency was reached. After 24 hour incubation in serum-free media, control groups were cultured in fresh serum-free media, while experimental groups were cultured in serum-free media containing various concentrations of FGF, 2% FBS or both. Cell proliferation was determined by [^3H]-thymidine incorporation rate into DNA, and proteins produced by cultured gingival fibroblasts were deter mined by SDS-PAGE of conditioned media and cell lysate. The obtained results were as follows. 1. In case of incubation of the cultured gingival fibroblast in the serum-free media containing FGF(10ng/ml), it was shown the tendency of cell proliferation as comparison with the control group, but statistically not significant(table 1). 2. In the event of incubation of the cultured gingival fibroblast in the serum free media containing FGF(30ng/ml) and FGF(30ng/ml) plus Fetal bovine serum. The 1st case was statistically not significant, the 2nd case was significantly higher than the control group(table 2). 3. In case that the cultured gingival fibroblast was cultivated in the serum free media containing FGF 50 ng/ml, the cell growth rate was three times as much as the control group. A case of the combined incorporation of FGF 50 ng/ml and 2% FBS, the cell proliferatiion effect was significantly higher than the control group(table 3). 4. The total protein amount about the effects of serum free media containing FGF(50 ng/ml) and FBS was slightly increased but statistically not significant(table 4). 5. After the conditioned media and cell extracts was carried out electrophores, several protein bands were identified by silver stain. The molecular weight of procollagen and fibronectin was showed positive band for the serum free media containing FGF 50 ng/ml(Fig. 2).

      • 치주치료의 각 술식별 수가체계에 관한 연구

        From 150 patients that had come to the department of periodontics of Dan Kook University Dental hospital to take the scaling & root planing, subgingival curettage and flap surgery for three months from 1994,Jan,3 to 1994,Apr,1, we had obtained following results that derived from consultation, periodontal charting, local anesthesia, sterilization, operation time, post-operative causions, cost analysis of used materials. 1. Average operating time for scaling & root planing, subgingival curettage and flap surgery is 16.36, 38.25, 66.55 minutes per sixtant. Because of a great difference in consultation and consuming time, we thought of needing its cost, 2. If the working time is regard as 8 hours per day, we could treat maximum four patients for scaling & root planing, six for subgingival curettage and four for flap surgery. 3. The material cost of scaling & root planing, subgingival curettage and flap surgery by means of cost analysis were 6401 won, 9226 won, 11285 won. 4. Relative index of scaling, root planing, subgingival curettage and flap surgery were 1, 29.479, 60.996. 5. To improve national periodontal health, we thought that we must consider of patient condition(teeth arrangement, present restoration) and estimate the rent fee, weges, depreciation of instruments, operator's traning and experiance.

      • 성견의 치근 이개부병변에서 합성골이식시 교원막의 치유효과에 관한 비교연구

        After periodontal surgery, the potential healing responses were occurred by interaction among junctional epithelium, gingival connective tissue, alveolar bone and periodontal ligament. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of collagen membrane in conjunction with nonresorbable hydroxyapatite in the grade Ⅱ bifurcation involvement of dogs. Experimental periodontitis was created in bifurcation area of 4 mongolian dogs with bone removal and gutta percha packing after 6 weeks later, the gutta percha were removed and experiment was perfomed divided by 2 groups. Flap operation with hydroxyapatite grafting, flap operation with hydroxyapatite grafting and collagen membrane were done. Experimental dogs were serially sacrificed at 2,4,8,16weeks and the specimens were prepared with hematoxylin-eosin stainning for light microsopic study. The results were as follows. 1. The hydroxyapatite particles were surrounded by dense connective tissue and formed new alveolar bone. 2. Dense new alveolar bone was formed in experimental group than control. 3. Infalmmatory cell infiltration was decreased in control group, as time lapsed, there was no inflammatory cell infiltration in the connective tissue of control group at 8 weeks, but was in experimental group. 4. Collagen menbrane was influenced the bone forming activities during 16 weeks

      • 지각과민 완화제 함유 치약의 노출 상아세관 폐쇄효과에 대한 주사 전자현미경적 관찰

        After root surface denudation due to periodontitis or periodontal surgery, many patients complain of hypersensitivity. The main reason for this is thought to be, opening of dentinal tubules after denudation of dentin. Thus, the sealing effect on dentinal tubules of denuded root surfaces by desensitizing agent containing dentifrice, which is commonly used to relieve and restrain hypersensitivity, was observed. To do this the premolars of healthy humans were curettaged and etched to open dentinal tubules and then desensitizing agent containing dentifrice was applied to the root surface and observed with SEM. The results are as following. 1. On the control group, opened dentinal tubules could be seen on the root surface. 2. In the group applied with microcrystalline HA containing dentifrice, all the opened dentinal tubules and the root surface were obstructed and dentifrice covered the entire surface of the root. 3. In the group applied with strontium chloride containing dentifrice, obstruction of the opened dentinal tubule on the root surface could also be seen. 4. In the group applied with desensitizing agent containing dentifrice, besides showing obstruction of all the dentinal tubules, root surface covered with even thickness of dentifrice could also be seen.

      • 사람의 접합상피의 치주 염증시 변화에 관한 전자현미경적 연구

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the ultrastructural features of human inflammed junctional epithelium. The tissue specimens were taken from a patient with severe periodontitis. After extraction of tooth with not detached junctional epithelium, the tissue were fixed with 2.5% glutaraldehyde in 0.1 M cacodylate buffer (pH 7.4) for 5 hours and decalcified with 0.1M EDTA solution for 12 weeks. The tissue was postfixed with 1% osmium tetroxide in 0.1M cacodylate buffer and dehydrated and embedded in Epon 812. For light microscopic observation, the specimen was cut into the 1㎛ semithin sections and stained with toluidine blue. For electron microscopic observation, the specimen was cut into the 80-90 ㎚ and stained with uranylacetate and lead citrate and examined with JEOL 1200 electron microscope. The results were as follows: 1. At light microscope, the outer surfaces of inflamed junctional epithelium were attached to cementum, it's inner surface were projected digitally to connective tissue. 2. Electron microscope revieled that the basal cell of inflammed junctional epithelium showed numerous desmosomes and basal lamina, but basal lamina had lost it's continuity. 3. Intercellular spaces of junctional epithelium of periodontal pocket were wider than that of normal junctional epithelium and reduced number of desmosomes. 4. Many vacuoles and loss of continuity of basal lamina were observed at the attached junctional epithelium to the tooth surface.

      • 성견 치조골 결손부에 자가골이식과 조직유도재생막을 이용한 치주치료시 치유효과에 관한 비교연구

        The goal of periodontal therapy is the regeneration of the periodontium lost by periodontal disease. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the regenerative potential of the autogenous bone graft and guided tissue regeneration in the treatment of periodontal bony defect in dogs. Experimental periodontitis were induced in the mandibular left 3rd premolar and right 3rd and 4th premolars of 5 dogs using orthodontic ligature wire. After 6 weeks, the ligature wire removed, surgical procedure were performed as follows. 1) control group : Flap operation(Mn.Lt 3rd premolar) 2) experimental group Ⅰ: Flap operation + autogenous bone graft (Mn.Rt. 3rd premolar) 3) experimental group Ⅱ : Flap operation + Gore-Tex membrane (Mn.Rt. 4th premoalr) Thereafter, dogs were sacrificed on the 1,2,4,8,16th week and the specimens were prepared and stained with hematoxyline-eosin stain for the light microscopic examination. The results of this study were as follows. 1. The apical migration of junctional epithelium was most remarkable in the flap operation and the experimental group Ⅱ was less than the experimental group Ⅰ. 2. In the formation of new alveolar bone, it was found in experimental groupⅠ,Ⅱ and experimental group Ⅰ is more than Ⅱ. In the control group, few bone formation was found. 3. In the formation of new cementum, it was found in experimental group Ⅰ,Ⅱ and experimental group Ⅱ is more thanⅠ. So, the periodontal therapy combined with autogenous and guided tissue regeneration will be produce the periodontal regeneration.
