      • 減壓 貯藏中 Tomato果實의 Ribonucleic Acid와 Ribonuclease 活性의 變化

        The process of ripening and senescence of tomato fruits has been studied in terms of storage temperature and pressure. Ribonucleic acid(RNA) content, Ribonuclease (RNase) activity, RNase properties and electrophoretic pattern of RNase were investigated during the storage. Total RNA content was decreased during ripening and senescence. The decreasing rate was greater at room temperature (R) than at low temperature (L), and under normal atmospheric pressure (NAP) than under sub-atmospheric pressure (SAP). RNase activity was increased during the period of climacteric rise and in accordance with developing color score. RNase activity was obviously higher at R than L, and under NAP than SAP. Consequently, RNase activity of NAP-R treatment was the highest among the treatments. The optimum temperature and pH of RNase activity were 70℃and pH 6.7, respectively. RNase activity was the most stable at pH 5.0 and retained 50% of its activity when treated at 90℃ for 10min. RNase activity was inhibited by cations and, markedly by zinc. Both treatment of NAP-R and SAP-L showed one band of RNase on gel electrophoresis in the early stage of storage. With the lapse of storage, the number of RNase band increased, showed 3 bands in the 7th day of NAP-R treatment and 2 bands in the 34th day of SAP-L treatment.

      • 제1요수 불완전 하반신 마비 환자에서의 기능적 전기자극에 의한 훈련 증례보고

        Functional electrical stimulation(FES) is known to increase muscle bulk and strength and prevent muscle atrophy in complete paraplegic patients. And other benefits include peripheral adaptations which improve muscle endurance, girth, and appearance, as well as central circulatory adaptation which enhances aerobic(cardiopulmonary) capacity. Good candidates for FES include spinal cord injured patients who have clinically complete upper motor neuron lesion between T4-T12. But we experienced incomplete L1 paraplegic patient who has improved maximal knee extension power, endurance, circumference and cross-sectional area of the thigh and the shank after FES-induced exercise for 44 weeks. So we recommend more trial of the FES-induced exercise to not only complete but also incomplete lumbar paraplegic patients.

      • 자연지반에서의 주입조건의 영향에 대한 실험적 연구

        It necessary to determine the suitable grouting conditions in order to design ideal ground water control for tunnel excavation. In order to determine ideal grouting conditions, one muse study how different variables such as grouting condition and ground depth affect of four difference variables-overburden pressure, gel time, injection rate, and relative density. The results presented in this study were drawn from 320 laboratory trials, which included repetitions to ensure accuracy. Both the height and dismeter of the test specimens were held constant at 30cm. The following is a specific explantion of the variables used in this experiment: overburden pressure(49~245KN/㎡); gel time, either short(5 seconds) or long (300 seconds); injection rate (500, 1000, 1500, 2000 cc/min); and relative density, either loose (35%) or dense (70%). The results of this experiment indicate that fracturing tends to occur when the gel time is short and the injection rate is relatively slow. However, permeation grouting tends to occur when the gel time is long, irrespective of other variables. The long time grouts tends to be nearly spherical and obtain the desired results. when the injection rate is low for short gel time grouts, hydraulic fracturing tended to occur. however, through these experiments, we demonstrated that it is possible to almost obtain a permeation pattern mass(irrespective of gel time) at more than 20m ground depth. But the mass shrinkage is about 25%.

      • 농장 사육되는 타조에서 나타난 다리 기형의 증례 보고

        Two farmed young ostrich chicks were applied to pathology laboratory at Chungnam National University. Grossly, one ostrich showed rotated tibiotarsus, the other showed rolled toes. Case 1 ostrich was hypertrophy of fibualis longus and tibial cranialis tendon and gastrocnemius tendon in crus, inflammation of flexor digitorum longus. In histopathological views, myocytes of fiburalis longus were showed hypertrophy and hyperplasia. It is not found any specific feature in X-ray of the case 2 ostrich. Limb deformities were detected frequently in farmed ostrich chicks in 2- to 3 weeks old. Limb deformities were an important cause of mortality in farmed ostrich chicks during the first 10weeks after hatch. Cause of limb deformities were considered a nutrition problem.

        The standard of value of winning in sports has become much important and the standard of physical strength improvement serves as the most important conformity for assessment of players, thus, it is required to identify what are the major factors for performance of play to improve the technique of Yongmoodo, Taekwondo and Kumdo athletes. Accordingly, researchers, scientists, and leaders of sports analyse the factors for performance of play focussed on how to improve the performance of play, and anticipate to analyse, to be informed of, and to assess the players and training result based on the result of play. Thus, the study is designed to find out the physical factors for decision of records of play in university students Yongmoodo, Taekwondo and Kumdo athletes under planned training and to identify physical factors of play performance of Yongmoodo, Taekwondo and Kumdo athletes. SPSS V11.0 ststistic program was used in processing of data in this study. Stepwise discriminant analysis was applied in identification of major assessment items showing the difference between the groups, and partial F-test statistic was utilized, on the assumption that contribution ratios of each variable are the difference between the groups, to assess their statistical significance and to make decision whether to select the variables. 1. In determination of Yongmoodo, Taekwondo and Kumdo athletes by physical strength, statistic showed statistical significance with 5% of significance level. 2. The order of contribution of variables that determine the performance of play as well as run to 100m, back strength, abdominal muscular endurance, flexibility, muscular endurance of upper arms are Yongmoodo athletes, thus, grip strength, agility and 1 mile run are Taekwondo and Kumdo athletes. 3. In therms of accuracy of the reclassification of determination factors as sports talent fitness of martial-arts event style, the reclassification into Yongmoodo(78.8%) and Taekwondo(86.8%) was higher compare that of Kumdo(37.7%). In therms of accuracy of the reclassification of determination factors as sports talent fitness of all martial-arts event style, the reclassification into Yongmoodo, Taekwondo and Kumdo were 69.8%.

      • 投形運動 指導를 위한 生體力學的 硏究

        The Biomechanical characteristics related to the throwing in later Children are investigated between the unskilled and the skilled group. For the study, 12 unskilled boys and 10 skilled boys aged 11 were selected at random. 44 variables are investigated in total; 14 item in Anthropometry, 7 item in Motor abiligy, and 23 item in Biomechanics. The form of throwing a rubber ball with a weight of 150g and a diameter of 7cm is filmed at the rate of 100 fps by means of two 16mm high speed cinecamera for the DLT. Each variable was satistically analyzed and between the unskilled and the skilled group. The conclusions are summarized as follows ; Standing height, lower limb length and shoulder width are lager in the skilled group than in the unskilled group, which implies that the growth of body length and width has an effect on the development of the ball throwing skill. The skilled are better in she motor ability except flexibility than the unskilled. In general, the ball throwing ability is affected by the other motor ability and is not developed sufficiently in later children. The motor patterns of the ball throwing, with she exception of the velocities of ball, hand and wirst at release and relaese angle are mastering at 11 years of age. The closer segmental end, the larger maximum segmental velocity is observed. The difference of maximum velocities of connected segments in uppers limb due to development of muscular system. The segmental movement of the best thrower is whiplike, in sequence from torso to upper limb end.

      • 농업용수수질기준 제정을 위한 T-P 항목의 검증실험

        This study was carried out to nvestigate- the effects of T-P concentrations in irrigation water on the growth, yield, and grain quality of rice. It acquire fundamental knowledges to set up irrigation water quality standards. The pot experiment was conducted with 5 treatments using irrigation water. It consisted of various total phosphorus concentrations (control, 1, 2, 5, 10 mg/L) and replicated four times with randomized block design. the results of this study showed that as t-P concentrations in irrigation water increases, plant height tended to increase. Dry weight of rice plant at t-P 10 mg/L was significantly higher than the control. However, t-P in irrigation water did not affect plant height, tiller number, plant; dry weight, yield, and quality of rice.
