The immature teratoma is the third most commin germ cell tumor of the ovary. It contains a variable amount of immature tissue derived from the three germ cell layers-ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm. Most commonly the immature elements are neural origin. With the usage of chemotherapy following appropriate surgery, prognosis for patient with malignant germ cell tumor was improved considerably. We had experienced a case of immature teratoma of ovary. We report the case with review of the concerned literatures.

This paper describes maximum torque drive of a vector controlled induction motor. As the instantaneous value of the stator current must be controlled to accomplish the superior vector control characteristic, the current controlled PWM transistor inverter with hysteresis controller is adopted. At steady-state, since the developed motor torque is proportional to the product of the flux and torque component, the motor output torque becomes maximum if the two components are equal. The system block diagram is suggested for maximum torque control. The superior characteristic of the proposed system is verified with digital computer simulation.

Design of safety-guaranteed operation of human-centered robots is, therefore, important since it determines the ultimate outcomes of operations involving safety of human operators. This study discusses the application of information-theoretic measures to safety assessment of human-centered robotic operations. Some examples are given.
Web Information Systems for Safety and Health Monitoring in Subway Stations

In this study, a framework for web-based information system in VDN environment for safety and health monitoring in subway stations is suggested. Since physical variables that describing safety and health need to be closely monitored in multiple locations in subway stations, concept of distributed monitoring network using wireless media needs to be implemented. Connecting remote wireless sensor network and device (LonWorks) networks to the IP network based on the concept of VDN can provide a powerful, integrated and distributed monitoring performance, making a web-based information system possible.

This study discusses the application of geometric tolerance and head injury criteria to safety assessment of human-centered robotic operations. Examples show that extending "Work Area" has more significant effect on the uncertainty in safety than extending the system range in the presence of velocity control.
Realization of Virtual Device Network(VDN) for Predictive Maintenance

Requirements for Distributed Monitoring and Control Networks(DMCN) differ greatly from those of typical data networks. Specifically, my DMCN technology which employs a filedbus protocol is different from IP network protocol TCP/IP. In general, one needs to integrate fieldbus protocol and TCP/IP to realize DMCN over IP network or internet, which can be viewed as Virtual Device Network(VDN). Interoperability between devices and equipments is essential to enhance the quality and the performance of predictive maintenance(PM). This paper suggests a basic framework for VDN using DMCN over IP network and a method to guarantee interoperability between devices and equipments.

Design of safety-guaranteed manufacturing process is, therefore, very important since it determines the ultimate outcomes of manufacturing activities involving safety of workers. This study discusses application of information-theoretic measure (entropy) to safety assessment of manufacturing processes. The idea is based on the general principles of design and their applications. Some examples are given.
