Wide LCD 모니터의 프레임 형태에 따른 감성 선호도 연구

With increasing needs for affective design, it became an essential part in a product development process to look up quantitative ergonomic data that reflects customers' preferences on design factors in various products. This study looked at wide LCD monitors and analyzed customers' affective preferences regarding monitor's bezel frame size and shape. The monitor's bezel frame depth, size and ratio were selected as independent variables among many design parameters. As dependent variables, customer's subjective preferences were measured. A statistical analysis revealed that monitor's bezel frame depth, size and ratio had significant effects on customer's preferences. Also, it was possible to find a different tendency on affective variables and their levels for 19" and 24" wide LCD monitors. In general, experiments revealed that customers reacted more sensitively in 24" wide LCD monitors to all variables. In 19" wide LCD monitors, only the lower frame bezel size had a significant effect, otherwise, lower, upper and side frame bezels appeared to be effective variables in 24" monitors. In order to reflect customer's affective preferences to new design of wide LCD monitors, this study is expected to provide quantitative ergonomic data and guidelines for the design of wide LCD monitor's bezel frame depth and size.
Sphingomonas abietis sp. nov., an Endophytic Bacterium Isolated from Korean Fir

PAMB 00755T , a bacterial strain, was isolated from Korean fir leaves. The strain exhibits yellow colonies and consists of Gram-negative, non-motile, short rods or ovoid-shaped cells. It displays optimal growth conditions at 20°C, 0% NaCl, and pH 6.0. Results of 16S rRNA gene-based phylogenetic analyses showed that strain PAMB 00755T was most closely related to Sphingomonas chungangi MAH-6T (97.7%) and Sphingomonas polyaromaticivorans B2-7T (97.4%), and ≤96.5% sequence similarity to other members of the genus Sphingomonas. The values of average nucleotide identity (79.9–81.3%), average amino acid identity (73.3–75.9%), and digital DNA–DNA hybridization (73.3– 75.9%) were significantly lower than the threshold values for species boundaries; these overall genome-related indexes (OGRI) analyses indicated that the strain represents a novel species. Genomic analysis revealed that the strain has a 4.4-Mbp genome encoding 4,083 functional genes, while the DNA G+C content of the whole genome is 66.1%. The genome of strain PAMB 00755T showed a putative carotenoid biosynthetic cluster responsible for its antioxidant activity. The respiratory quinone was identified as ubiquinone 10 (Q-10), while the major fatty acids in the profile were identified as C18:1ω7c and/or C18:1ω6c (summed feature 8). The major polar lipids of strain PAMB 00755T were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, sphingoglycolipid, and phosphatidylcholine. Based on a comprehensive analysis of genomic, phenotypic, and chemotaxonomic characteristics, we proposed the name Sphingomonas abietis sp. nov. for this novel species, with PAMB 00755T as the type strain (= KCTC 92781T = GDMCC 1.3779T ).

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P> <I>Shewanella japonica</I> KCTC 22435<SUP>T</SUP> is a facultatively anaerobic, Gram-negative, mesophilic, rod-shaped bacterium isolated from sea water at the Pacific Institute of Bio-organic Chemistry of the Marine Experimental Station, Troitza Bay, Gulf of Peter the Great, Russia. Here, we report the complete genome of <I>S</I>. <I>japonica</I> KCTC 22435<SUP>T</SUP>, which consists of 4,975,677bp (G+C content of 40.80%) with a single chromosome, 4036 protein-coding genes, 97 tRNAs and 8 rRNA operons. Genes detected in the genome reveal that the strain possesses a type II secretion system, cytochrome <I>c</I> family proteins with various numbers of heme-binding motifs, and metabolic pathways for utilizing diverse carbon sources, supporting the potential of KCTC 22435<SUP>T</SUP> to generate electricity in salinity culture conditions.</P>

In November 2021, 14 international travel-related severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) B.1.1.529 (omicron) variant of concern (VOC) patients were detected in South Korea. Epidemiologic investigation revealed community transmission of the omicron VOC. A total of 80 SARS-CoV-2 omicron VOC-positive patients were identified until December 10, 2021 and 66 of them reported no relation to the international travel. There may be more transmissions with this VOC in Korea than reported.

A strictly anaerobic, Gram-stain-positive, catalase-negative, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium, designated SG0102T, was isolated from the small intestine of a swine. Optimal growth occurred at 37°C and pH 7.0. Furthermore, growth was observed in the presence of up to 3% (w/v) NaCl but not at salinity levels higher than 4%. The comparative analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain SG0102T was most closely related to Kandleria vitulina DSM 20405T (93.3%), followed by Catenibacterium mitsuokai KCTC 5053T (91.1%), Sharpea azabuensis KCTC 15217T (91.0%), and Eggerthia catenaformis DSM 5348T (89.6%). The average nucleotide identity values between strain SG0102T and related species, K. vitulina DSM 20405T, C. mitsuokai KCTC 5053T, S. azabuensis KCTC 15217T, and E. catenaformis DSM 5348T, were 71.0, 69.3, 70.0, and 69.2%, respectively. The phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequence revealed that strain SG0102T belonged to the family Erysipelotrichaceae in the class Erysipelotrichia. The DNA G+C content of the strain SG0102T was 39.5 mol%. The major cellular fatty acids (> 10%) of strain SG0102T were C16:0, C16:0 dimethyl acetal, and C18:2 ω9/12c. The cell wall peptidoglycan of strain SG0102T contained the meso-diaminopimelic acid. The strain SG0102T produced lactic acid as a major end product of fermentation. These distinct phenotypic and phylogenetic properties suggest that strain SG0102T represents a novel species in a novel genus of the family Erysipelotrichaceae, for which the name Intestinibaculum porci gen. nov. sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is SG0102T (= KCTC 15725T = NBRC 113396T).

This study aims to design ergonomic warning sound that is not confusing and enhancing preference. Four factors of the warning sound represented as interval, chord, reverberation and pitch were selected as independent variables. And, perceived urgency, perceived criticality, degree of confusion and user preference are measured as dependent variables. An experiment was conducted in silent lab environment. Warning sounds were given in 90dB constantly to subjects through stereo speakers. A statistical analysis revealed that interval was significant for perceived urgency; also interval and chord were both effective for perceived criticality. Pitch, interval, chord and the interaction between pitch and chord were effective in degree of confusion, so were reverberation, the interaction between reverberation and pitch and the interaction between reverberation and chord for preference. This study characterized the situation under which warning sounds are required into three types in terms of urgency and criticality; and found the right warning sound that the subjects perceived to best represent the situation through the validation study. These findings are expected to help the designer choose the right warning sound according to the situational contexts in which such warning sounds are implemented.
Gray and white matter changes linking cerebral small vessel disease to gait disturbances

<P>Objective: To investigate the topographic changes of white matter (WM) integrity and cortical thickness related to gait disturbances and determine whether these neural correlates mediate the association between cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) and gait disturbances. Methods: A total of 129 patients with subcortical vascular cognitive impairment were included. CSVD severity was quantified as global and regional WM hyperintensities (WMH) volume and lacune and microbleed numbers. Amyloid burdens were assessed using Pittsburgh compound B (PiB)-PET scanning. Gait score was measured using a standardized scale. WM integrity was assessed by applying tract-based spatial statistics. Cortical thickness was measured using surface-based methods. Path analysis for gait score was performed using regional CSVD markers as predictors and fractional anisotropy (FA) and cortical thickness as mediators. Results: Periventricular WMH (PWMH) volume was associated with gait score, regardless of other CSVD. PiB retention ratio was not associated with gait score. Gait score was correlated with FA in the frontal and parietal WM and bilateral corpus callosum and with cortical thinning in the bilateral frontal and lateral temporo-parieto-occipital regions. Path analysis for gait score showed that PWMH contributed to gait disturbances with the mediation of mean FA or cortical thickness. Conclusions: Our findings suggest that WMH-related cortical thinning as well as disrupted integrity of periventricular WM is linked to gait disturbances.</P>

Three novel, Gram-stain-positive, obligate aerobic, catalase- and oxidase-positive bacterial strains, designated B2O-1T, T2O-4T, and 0.2-SM1T-5T, were isolated from jeotgal, a traditional Korean fermented seafood. Strains B2O-1T, T2O-4T, and 0.2-SM1T-5T exhibited distinct colony colors, characterized by pink, yellow, and red opaque circular colonies, respectively. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that three strains formed a paraphyletic clade within the genus Sporosarcina and shared < 99.0% similarity with Sporosarcina aquimarina KCTC 3840T and Sporosarcina saromensis KCTC 13119T in their 16S rRNA gene sequences. The three strains exhibiting Orthologous Average Nucleotide Identity values < 79.3% and digital DNA-DNA hybridization values < 23.1% within the genus Sporosarcina affirmed their distinctiveness. Strains B2O-1T, T2O- 4T, and 0.2-SM1T-5T contained MK-7 as a sole respiratory menaquinone and A4α type peptidoglycan based on lysine with alanine, glutamic acid, and aspartic acid. The common polar lipids include diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, and phosphatidylethanolamine. Strain T2O-4T contained one unidentified phospholipid, whereas strain 0.2-SM1T-5T contained two unidentified phospholipids. Cellular fatty acid profiles, with C15: 0 anteiso as the major fatty acid, supported the affiliation of the three strains to the genus Sporosarcina. Based on the polyphasic characteristics, strains B2O-1T (= KCTC 43506T = JCM 36032T), T2O-4T (= KCTC 43489T = JCM 36031T), and 0.2-SM1T-5T (= KCTC 43519T = JCM 36034T) represent three novel species within the genus Sporosarcina, named Sporosarcina jeotgali sp. nov., Sporosarcina oncorhynchi sp. nov., and Sporosarcina trichiuri sp. nov., respectively.
