Based on the beam on elastic foundation analysis considering plastic region braced excavation, this study has been investigated the effect of modulus of horizontal subgrade reaction, stiffiness of wall and strut, and location of strut. As well, The in-situ measured data has been compared with the result by the analysis.

The purpose of this study, using the finite element program. EXCAV, is to investigate the displacement of wall according the excavation states And the comparision study setween the results of measurement is deposit and that of E.F.M. considering P.z. The results are summarized as follow. 1. In excavating by steps, maximum displacement of wall was taken place between lower strut and bottom of excavation. On the other hand, in case of simultaneous excavation, the displacement of wall was occured at upper of beam, and maximum moment and axial force were larger than step excavation. 2. The use of concrete wall had maximum displacement at other place of the wall. In spite of position of the first strut which is located at lower than the H-pile, the upper displacement of the wall could be found out the lower than final excavation step. 3. In the Analysis of excavation by Elastic Foundation method considering plastic Zone, the maximum moment of the beam was taken place between the lower strut and the bottom of final excavation, while the analysis of it by EXCAV showed that the moment was acted on the bottom of third excavation.

It is needed much backfill to construct the roadway, the railway, the airport, the factory site and the dam. But Since there is not plentiful of resource. To provide against the give-out of resource, We want to develop the substitute resource for the use of the construction material. In this study, We want to use the crashed-sand from by-product in the process of the coarse gravel as the sand-drain materials.

In the estimation of the lateral earth pressure at-rest of an under-ground rigid structure, K. the coefficient of earth pressure at-rest, is determined mainly by the angle of internal friction of the soil and also it is well-known that Ko is influenced considerably by the stress history of the soil. In this study the influence on the stress history of the dry sand is deeply examined and hysteretic Ko-model considering the above two factors is suggested. For this, total 9 types(of one-cyclic and multi-cyclic models under Ko condition have been studied experimentally.) For this study K.-tester which has an oedometer ring on the inner wall of which load cells are attached is newly devised and the horizontal earth pressure is accurately measured. There have been several related studies on the one-cyclic Kotest. By these studies, for virgin loading Kon=f(Φ') and for virgin unloading, Kon(OCR)α are suggested. And for virgin reloading σh'-σv' relationship is expressed linearly and the reloading coefficient defined by the gradiant of the straight line, mr is expressed by the function of OCR and Φ. The results of this study are analyzed by and compared with those of the related studies. As there have been few studies on the multi-cyclic Ko-test, the writer tried to determine the extending relation considering cyclic number on the functional formula obtained in one-cyclic test.

Load tests are executed on instrumented model piles to propose the transfer function about frictional force mobilized at open-end pile shaft. A new transfer function proposed by some existing transfer functions gives fairly close prediction to the measurement.
