Nowadays, as to reduce the emission volume of CO CO22, , blast furnace slag has been widely used to replacement of cement. Techniques about using industrial by-products has been extensively studied. For the previous study, blast furnace slag has been used with recycled fine aggregates. In thess study, considering about the different properties of blast furnace slag, as the change of blaine and chemical performances of blast furnace slag, the results of flowability and compressive strength has been analysed.

This study investigates the effect of a grading of aggregate on the properties of concrete. It is a common sense in Korea that the production of coarse aggregate in ready mixed concrete industry excludes particular aggregate size ranged from 5 mm to 13 mm for saving the production cost. This causes a gap grading of the aggregate for concrete, which can lead to the increase of unit water, the development of drying shrinkage-induced crack and the reduction of compressive strength. In this study, conventional aggregate obtained from a ready mixed concrete factory and the aggregate with a modified grading produced in lab. condition were prepared. Results showed that a good grading of aggregate (i.e., the ratio of 5~13 mm and 13~25 mm is 6 to 4) produced in the lab. condition significantly improved the slump and the compressive strength of the concrete.

When glutamate was injected intrathecally, the result is similar to those produced by TPA injected. The involvement of protein kinase C (PKC) in the nociceptive responses in rat dorsal horm neurons of lumbar spinal cord was studied. In test with formalin, a PKC inhibitor (chelerythrine) inhibited dose-dependently the formalin-induced behavior response. Neomycin also inhibited it significantly. But, a PKC activator (12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-ester, TPA) showed reverse effect. When gluatamate was injected intrathecally, we observed the result is similar to those produced by TPA injection. On the other hand, intrathecal injection of glutamate induced thermal and mechanical hyperalgesia. In Tail-flick test, we examined the involvement of PKC on the glutamate-induced thermal hyperalgesia. Chelerythrine showed an inhibitory effect and TPA enhanced thermal response. Glutamate decreased the mechanical threshold signficantly. A pretreatment of chelerythrine and neomycin inhibited glutamate-induced mechanical hyperalgesia, but the effect of neomycin was not signficant. TPA had little effect on the mechanical nociceptive response. These results suggest that the PKC activation through metabotropic receptor at postsynaptic region of spinal cord dorsal horn neurons may influence on the persistent nociception produced by chemical stimulation with formalin, thermal and mechanical hyperalgesia induced by glutamate.
금속염을 함침한 TiO₂ 소결체의 전기 비저항 - 온도 특성

Titanium oxide sintered in air at 1000℃ for 2 hours was impregnated with several kinds of metallic salts in aqueous solution. The electrical resistivity of sintered bodies was measured as a function of the temperature by electrical multimeter. When the resistivity of specimen doped antimony was measured in air during the heating, two step extrema was observed. The first extrema in the low temperature was explained in terms of the desorption of the chemisorbed oxygen and oxidation, and the second extrema in the high temperature was by the precipitation of Sb₂O₃. In case of specimen doped Aluminum, the extrema was not appeared but the thermal hysteresis was done. These phenomena were explained in terms of the principle of controlled valency.

Accumulation of tissue macrophages is a significant cha-racteristic of disease-associated chronic inflammation, and facilitates the progression of disease pathology. However, the functional roles of these bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs) in aging are unclear. Here, we identified age-dependent macrophage accumulation in the bone marrow, showing that aging significantly increases the number of M1 macrophages and impairs polarization of BMDMs. We found that age-related dysregulation of BMDMs is associated with abnormal overexpression of the anti-inflammatory interleukin-10. BMDM dysregulation in aging impairs the expression levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines and genes involved in B-cell maturation and activation. Phagocytosis of apoptotic Jurkat cells by BMDMs was reduced because of low expression of phagocytic receptor CD14, indicating that increased apoptotic cells may result from defective phagocytosis of apoptotic cells in the BM of aged mice. Therefore, CD14 may represent a promising target for preventing BMDM dysregulation, and macrophage accumulation may provide diagnostic and thera-peutic clues. [BMB Reports 2017; 50(1): 43-48]

In order to investigate the acute toxicity of autoxidized methyl linoleate(AOML) on the activity of serum enzymes in the mouse, we administered once 0.45ml of AOML to ICR strain mouse by using stomach tube. The following results were obtained: The total lactic dehydrogenase(LDH) activities in the serum of AOML group were generally increased than those of normal group. According to electrophoresis, the activities of LDH, were increased while those of LDH, were decreased. The activities of glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase(GOT), glutamic-pyruvic transaminase(GPT) and α-amylase in the serum of AOML group were increased more than those of normal group. The activities of alkaline phosphatase in the serum of AOML group were increased but those of isozyme were not confirmed in the normal and AOML group. In the serum protein of AOML group, albumin was increased, on the other hand r-globulin was decreased. At the peripheral blood slide smear, lymphocytes were significantly decreased but neutrophils were increased and the morphological change of erythrocytes was observed. From there results we conclude that the AOML fed to mouse influences on the activity of various serum enzymes and blood cells in the mouse.
벤조산 유도체 Ⅱ . Furyl Chalcone 유도체의 가수분해 반응메카니즘과 그 반응속도론적 연구

The hydrolysis kinetics of 2-furyl chalcone derivatives [Ⅰ]~[Ⅴ] was investigated by ultraviolet spectrophotometery in 30% dioxane-H_2O at 25℃ and the structure of these compounds were ascertained by means of ultraviolet, infrared and NMR spectra. The rate equations which were applied over a wide pH range(pH 1.0~12.0) were obtained. The substituent effects on 2-furyl chalcone derivatives [Ⅰ]~[Ⅴ] were studied, and the hydrolysis were facilitated by the electron attrecting groups. On the basis of the rate equation, substituent effect, general base effect and final product, the plausible hydrolysis mechanism was proposed: Below pH 4.0, it was only proportional to concentration of hydronium ion, at pH 4.0~9.0, neutral H_2O molecule competitively attacked on the double bond. By contrast, above pH 9.0, it was proportional to concentration of hydroxide ion.
