Structural and optical properties have been investigated for Ru2Si3 layers on Si (100) formed by two-step channeled ion implantations (70 keV, 6.92 × 1016/㎠ and 40 keV, 4.31 × 1016/㎠) and subsequent annealing at 1150℃ for 120 second. Rutherford backscattering/ ion channeling (RBS/C) analyses have revealed that the Ru2Si3 layers were grown on the Si substrate but with a rather poor crystalline quality. The optical spectra have been obtained by spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE) and optical absorption measurements. From the optical investigations, the real and imaginary parts of the dielectric function as well as the absorption coefficient have been derived. The spectra of Ru2Si3 layers exhibit a semi-conducting character with an allowed direct band gap of 0.843 eV. Ferroelectric composite thin films of x·C18A-HSBT/PVDF with different C18A-HSBT content (weight ratio of C18A-HSBTto PVDF, x=2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, 10%) were prepared by spin-coating method. The crystal structures of x·C18A-HSBT/PVDFthin films were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements together with Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR). The morphological studies of these samples were done via scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Experimental resultsdemonstrated that both β-phase of PVDF and the layered perovskite C18A-HSBT co-existed in the x·C18A-HSBT/PVDF thinfilm samples. With an increase of C18A-HSBT content in the x·C18A-HSBT/PVDF thin films, both the dielectric constant andsaturated polarizations were also increased. In addition, as the C18A-HSBT content increased, the leakage current density ofthe x·C18A-HSBT/PVDF thin films under the applied electric field was decreased.

Grazing angle Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry/Channeling(RBS/C) with an improved depth resolution (2-3nm) in combination with X-ray photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) was used to investigate the thin oxide of Si(1-x)Ge(x) (x=0, 0.2 and 0.3) films oxidized at elevated temperatures in a dry chlorinated ambient atmosphere (O2/Cl). Experimental results showed that after oxidation, only SiO2 was formed while Ge was completely rejected from the oxide to form Ge-rich layers. The effect of the oxidation enhancement of the SiGe alloy with an increase in the Ge content was also found in this study. The strain of the unoxidized SiGe layer underneath the oxide layer characterized by channeling angular scans indicates that these rejected Ge atoms during oxidation have less influence on the integrity of the SiGe layer due to diffusion of the Ge atoms.

BiFe0.97−xMn0.03ZnxO3 (BFMZ) thin films with various Zn contents (x = 0, 0.01, 0.02, 0.05, and 0.1) were prepared on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si (100) substrates by a chemical solution deposition (CSD) technique. The crystal structures of BFMZ thin films were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The effects of the Zn content on the magnetic, dielectric properties, and leakage current of these BFMZ films were thoroughly investigated. The analysis by XRD demonstrated that all the BFMZ thin films were of a polycrystalline rhombohedral perovskite structure with the space group R3c. For the BFMZ thin films, slim magnetic hysteresis (M-H) loops were observed, and the saturated magnetization (Ms) of the BFMZ thin film increased with an increase of the Zn content. Compared to the other BFMZ thin films with Zn content between 0.01 and 0.1, the BFMZ thin film with Zn content x = 0 has the largest dielectric constant and the smallest dielectric loss. In addition, With co-doping of Mn2+ and Zn2+ ions at Fe3+ sites in the BFMZ thin films, the leakage current density increased with an increase of the Zn concentration in the films.
Investigation of nano-sized ZnO particles fabricated by various synthesis routes

Nano-sized ZnO particles were synthesized by a direct precipitation, a sol-gel, and a hydrothermal method. The structures,morphology, and optical properties of these ZnO nanoparticles fabricated by the above-mentioned methods were also characterized by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-vis). In addition, the photocatalytic activities of the synthesized ZnO nanoparticles were evaluated via the degradation of methyl orange (MO) in an aqueous solution. These experimental results demonstrated that the photodegradation efficiency of MO solutions irradiated by UV for 120 minutes with ZnO nano-particles used as catalysts, which were fabricated by a direct precipitation method could reach 94.59% or so. The higher photocatalytic activity of methyl orange solutions by the ZnO nanoparticles synthesized by the direct precipitation method is probably ascribed to the spherical ZnO nanoparticles with a smaller crystalline size.

Intestinal disorders often co-occur with inflammation and dysmotility. However, drugs which simultaneously improve intestinal inflammation and cooccurring dysmotility are rarely reported. Atractylodin, a widely used herbal medicine, is used to treat digestive disorders. The present study was designed to characterize the effects of atractylodin on amelioration of both jejunal inflammation and the co-occurring dysmotility in both constipation-prominent (CP) and diarrheaprominent (DP) rats. The results indicated that atractylodin reduced proinflammatory cytokines TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6 in the plasma and inhibited the expression of inflammatory mediators iNOS and NF-kappa B in jejunal segments in both CP and DP rats. The results indicated that atractylodin exerted stimulatory effects and inhibitory effects on the contractility of jejunal segments isolated from CP and DP rats respectively, showing a contractile-state-dependent regulation. Atractylodininduced contractile-state-dependent regulation was also observed by using rat jejunal segments in low and high contractile states respectively (5 pairs of low/ high contractile states). Atractylodin up-regulated the decreased phosphorylation of 20 kDa myosin light chain, protein contents of myosin light chain kinase (MLCK), and MLCK mRNA expression in jejunal segments of CP rats and down-regulated those increased parameters in DP rats. Taken together, atractylodin alleviated rat jejunal inflammation and exerted contractile-state-dependent regulation on the contractility of jejunal segments isolated from CP and DP rats respectively, suggesting the potential clinical implication for ameliorating intestinal inflammation and co-occurring dysmotility.

This paper studied the fixed-time prescribed performance torsional vibration suppression control for the transmission system with actuator faults. Firstly, a novel electromechanical coupling torsional vibration model was established on the basis of the Lagrangian equation with the dissipation term and Kirchhoff’s law, which considered the nonlinear damping, nonlinear stiffness and the mechanical-electrical coupling relationship. Subsequently, an asymmetric fixed-time predetermined performance function was introduced to ensure that the state errors can converge in a given region in the fixed time, and a torsional vibration suppression control strategy with actuator faults was designed. A stability analysis indicated that the designed torsional vibration system was stable, and the performances of the transformed states were preserved. Finally, the transmission system of the rolling mill was selected as a research object for simulation testing, and the results illustrate the validity of the proposed algorithm.

Senescence of Hosta ventricosa flowers was firstly characterized as ethylene-sensitive since the deterioration of the tepal was accompanied by increased endogenous ethylene biosynthesis. The full-length cDNAs and DNAs of 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) synthase (ACS) and ACC oxidase (ACO) involved in ethylene biosynthesis were cloned from H. ventricosa flowers. The HvACS ORF with 1347 bp and two introns, encoded a polypeptide of 448 amino acids showing 79% homology with that in Musa acuminata. The HvACO ORF contained 957 bp and three introns, encoding a 318-residue polypeptide showing 83% homology with that in Narcissus tazetta. The timing of the induction of HvACS expression was in correspond to the timing of the increase in ethylene production, and that the up-regulation of HvACO transcript was closely correlated with an elevated ethylene production, but underwent a down-regulation in wounded leaves with elevated ethylene emission. The results, together with expression analysis in vegetative tissues, suggested that both HvACS and HvACO were specifically regulated by flower senescence.
