This paper introduces a method to automate process design using Case Based Reasoning technique. Particularly, the function-behavior-structure model is used to represent a process plan as a case. Specifically, a case retrieval algorithm to use function and behavior, case adaptation knowledge definition by using neural network technique, and a machine selection method are presented.
Activated Liver X Receptors Stimulate Adipocyte Differentiation through Induction of PPAR Expression

Liver X receptors(LXRs) are nuclear hormone receptors that regulate cholesterol and fatty acid metabolism in liver and macrophages. Although LXR activation enhances lipogenesis, it is not well understood whether LXRs are involved in adipocyte differentiation. We demonstrated that LXR activation stimulated execution of adipogenesis, as determined by lipid droplet accumulation and adipocyte-specific gene expression in vivo and in vitro. In adipocytes, LXR activation with T0901317 primarily enhanced the expression of lipogenic genes such as ADD1/SREBP1c and FAS, and substantially increased the expression of adipocyte-specific genes, PPAR and aP2. Administration of the LXR agonist, T0901317, to lean mice promoted expression of most lipogenic and adipogenic genes in fat and liver tissues. It is of interest to note that PPAR is a novel target gene of LXR since PPAR promoter contains the conserved binding site of LXR and was transactivated by expression of LXR. Moreover, activated LXR exhibited increase of DNA binding activity to its target gene promoters such as ADD1/SREBP1c and PPAR, which appeared to be closely associated with hyperacetylation of histone H3 in the promoter regions of those genes. Furthermore, suppression of LXR by small interfering RNA(siRNA) attenuated adipocyte differentiation. Taken together, these results suggest that LXR would play a role in the execution of adipocyte differentiation by regulation of lipogenesis and adipocyte-specific gene expression.

Background: Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) are escalating, and their socioeconomic burden is increasing. However, large-scale prospective studies investigating ADRs during hospitalization are rare in Korea. We prospectively investigated the incidence, characteristics, and economic burden of ADRs in hospitalized patients based on electronic medical records (EMRs). Methods: Among patients admitted to three hospitals from October 2016 to October 2017, 5,000 patients were randomly selected and prospectively observed during hospitalization. Research nurses monitored and detected patients who had symptoms, signs, or laboratory findings suspicious for ADRs using an EMR-based detection protocol. Next, allergy and ADR specialists reviewed the medical records to determine the relationship between adverse reactions and drugs. Cases in which a causal relationship was certain, probable/likely, or possible were included in the ADR cases. Clinically meaningful ADR cases or those leading to prolonged hospitalization were defined as significant ADRs. Results: ADRs occurred in 510 (10.2%) patients. The mean length of hospital stay was approximately 5 days longer in patients with ADRs. Opioids accounted for the highest percentage of total ADRs. Significant ADRs were observed in 148 (3.0%) patients. Antibiotics accounted for the highest percentage of significant ADRs. Drug hypersensitivity reactions (DHRs) occurred in 88 (1.8%) patients. Antibiotics accounted for the highest percentage of DHRs. The average medical expenses for one day of hospitalization per patient were highest in significant ADRs, followed by non-significant ADRs, and non-ADRs. Conclusion: ADRs in hospitalized patients are an important clinical issue, resulting in a substantial socioeconomic burden. EMR-based strategy could be a useful tool for ADR monitoring and early detection.

The aim of this is to examine the effects of SSP therapy on the internal carotid arteries blood flow of 24 tension type headache patients(study group) and non tension type headache patients(control group), and on the reduction of their headaches, when applied to the acupuncture points. It stimulated the acupuncture point of headache 6 place with the SSP. It measured VAS and the blood flow of the internal carotid arteries with TCD. When the internal carotid arteries blood flow of study group and control group were compared by period, a significant difference was found in the 4th period(p<.05). When the Visual Analog Scale of study group and control group were compared by period, a significant difference was found in the 4th period(p<.05). The comparison of each measurement result of the internal carotid arteries blood flow of the study group found significantly increased. The comparison of each measurement result of the VAS of study group found significantly decreased. With regard to the control group, the VAS significantly decreased. The silver spike point low frequency electrical stimulation treatment, when applied to the acupuncture point, can significantly influence the internal carotid arteries blood flow of headache patients and can significantly reduce their headaches.
