An extensive investigation on gamma ray shielding features of Pd/Ag-based alloys

A comprehensive study of photon interaction features has been made for some alloys containing Pd andAg content to evaluate its possible use as alternative gamma radiations shielding material. The massattenuation coefficient (m/r) of the present alloys was measured at various photon energies between81 keVe1333 keV utilizing HPGe detector. The measured m/r values were compared to those of theoreticaland computational (MCNPX code) results. The results exhibited that the m/r values of the studiedalloys are in the same line with results of WinXCOM software and MCNPX code results at all energies. Moreover, Pd75/Ag25 alloy sample has the maximum radiation protection efficiency (about 53% at81 keV) and lowest half value layer, which shows that Pd75/Ag25 has superior gamma radiationshielding performance among the other compared alloys.
The Many Creativities of Business and the APT Model of Creativity

Creativity in business is increasingly considered a competitive advantage, and many organizations have identified creative processes and outcomes as valued organizations goals. What is less clear, however, is what these or-ganizations and their leaders mean by creativity. Here, we present the Amusement Park Theoretical (APT) Model of Creativity as a mechanism for understanding the many creativities in business. The model addresses the role of basic levels of intelligence and motivation in individuals, and under-scores the importance of considering the context in which those individuals are employed. The model identifies several levels of context which, when applied to business, highlights the importance of considering industry, organization, job, and tasks within jobs, when defining creativity. More directly, there is not one creativity in business, there are many. Based on the model, we discuss ways in which existing approaches to business might be utilized in conjunction with a domain-specific conceptualization of creativity to further organizational creativity goals.

In this research, we investigated the burnup characteristics and the conversion of fertile 232Th into fissile 233U in the core ofa Sodium-Cooled Fast Reactor (SFR). The SFR fuel assemblies were designed for burning 232Th fuel (fuel pin 1) and 233U fuel(fuel pin 2) and include mixed minor actinide compositions. Monte Carlo simulations were performed using SerpentCode1.1.19 to compare with CRAM (Chebyshev Rational Approximation Method) and TTA (Transmutation TrajectoryAnalysis) method in the burnup calculation mode. The total heating power generated in the system was assumed to be 2000MWth. During the reactor operation period of 600 days, the effective multiplication factor (keff) was between 0.964 and0.954 and peaking factor is 1.88867.
