In this study, the mechanism of electric-field-induced phase transition in 0.96[Bi<SUB>0.5</SUB>(Na<SUB>0.84</SUB>K<SUB>0.16</SUB>)<SUB>0.5</SUB>Ti<SUB>1-x</SUB>Ta<SUB>x</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB>]-0.04SrTiO<SUB>3</SUB>, (where 0.00 @? x @? 0.030, abbreviated as BNKTT-ST) ceramics was discussed based on crystal structure and electromechanical properties. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) showed a phase transition from mixed rhombohedral-tetragonal to single pseudocubic when x ≥ 0.020. Large electromechanical strain of ~0.42% with a dynamic piezoelectric constant (S<SUB>max</SUB>/E<SUB>max</SUB>) of ~700 pm/V at 6 kV/mm was recorded for 2 mol. % Ta content. Interestingly, at lower field of 4 kV/mm, the S<SUB>max</SUB>/E<SUB>max</SUB> attained the highest value of ~830 pm/V. Poled, unpoled XRD analysis and electrical properties suggest that the relatively high S<SUB>max</SUB>/E<SUB>max</SUB> at x = 0.020 may be attributed to the combined effect of composition and ferroelectric (FE) to ergodic relaxor (ER) phase transition. Furthermore, the energy storage density was studied as a function of both composition and temperature to demonstrate the suitability for capacitor applications. This system also revealed improved energy storage properties. Particularly, for x = 0.020, a nearly temperature-invariant large recoverable energy density (W = 0.65 J/cm<SUP>3</SUP>) was achieved over a wide temperature range (75-150 <SUP>o</SUP>C). These properties demonstrate that the fabricated system might be a promising lead-free candidate for actuators and high temperature energy storage capacitor applications.
A game theoretical approach for QoS provisioning in heterogeneous networks

With the proliferation of mobile phone users, interference management is a big concern in this neoteric years. To cope with this problem along with ensuring better Quality of Service (QoS), femtocell plays an imperious preamble in heterogeneous networks (HetNets) for some of its noteworthy characteristics. In this paper, we propose a game theoretic algorithm along with dynamic channel allocation and hybrid access mechanism with self-organizing power control scheme. With a view to resolving prioritized access issue, the concept of primary and secondary users is applied. Existence of pure strategy Nash equilibrium (NE) has been investigated and comes to a perfection that our proposed scheme can be adopted both increasing capacity and increasing revenue of operators considering optimal price for consumers.

The Crystal structure, dielectric, ferroelectric and field-induced strain behaviors of lead-free 0.99[Bi<sub>1/2</sub>(Na<sub>0.82</sub>K<sub>0.18</sub>)<sub>1/2</sub>(Ti<sub>1−x</sub>Zr<sub>x</sub>)O<sub>3</sub>]-0.01LiSbO<sub>3</sub> (BNKTZ-LS) ceramics were investigated in the composition range <i>x</i> = 0 - 0.040. XRD patterns revealed the formation of a pure perovskite phase with no apparent structural phase transition. The temperature-dependent dielectric peaks of the BNKTZ-LS ceramics broadened and the ferroelectric polarizations decreased with increasing Zr concentration. Ferroelectric and bipolar field induced-strain curves indicated a disruption of ferroelectric order upon Zr addition into the BNKT-LS ceramics. This destabilization of the ferroelectric order was accompanied by an enhanced field-induced strain. A high field-induced strain (<i>S</i> = 0.30%) with a normalized strain (<i>d<sup>*</sup><sub>33</sub></i> = <i>S<sub>max</sub></i>/<i>E<sub>max</sub></i> = 500 pm/V) was observed at an applied electric field of 6 kV/mm at x = 0.020.

Lead-free 0.99[(Bi<SUB>0.5</SUB>Na<SUB>0.5</SUB>)<SUB>0.935</SUB>Ba<SUB>0.065</SUB>Ti<SUB>(1-x)</SUB>Nb<SUB>x</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB>]-0.01SrZrO<SUB>3</SUB> (BNBTNb100x-SZ, with Nb100x=0-1) ceramics were prepared by the conventional mixed oxide route. X-ray diffraction and Raman scattering was utilized for the structural evolution of Nb-modified BNBT-SZ ceramics at average and short-scale localized structure. Temperature dependent dielectric properties showed ferroelectric-ergodic relaxor (FE-ER) transition in Nb-modified BNBT-SZ ceramics by producing a significant disruption of the long-range FE order. A giant normalized strain of 825pm/V at 4kV/mm was achieved at Nb1.0. Interestingly, at a relatively low applied field of 3kV/mm, the Nb0.75 sample displayed a large electric field-induced strain (EFIS) response of 0.20%, which is highest value obtained in non-textured lead-free BNT-based ceramics at such low driving field. The structural distortion induced by doping and electric poling is correlated with the dielectric, ferroelectric and EFIS response, and the evolution of giant strain was ascribed to reversible field induced phase transition from ER-FE phase.
Binding of erucic acid with human serum albumin using a spectroscopic and molecular docking study

Erucic acid (EA) is one of the key fatty acids usually found in canola oil, mustard oil and rapeseed oil. Consumption of EA in primates was found to cause myocardial lipidosis and cardiac steatosis. To have an insight of the effect of EA in humans, we performed in vitro interaction studies of EA with the primary plasma protein, human serum albumin (HSA). Spectroscopic (UV-vis and fluorescence) analysis of the HSA-EA interaction revealed a static mode of quenching with binding constant K<SUB>b</SUB> ~10<SUP>4</SUP> reflecting high affinity of EA for HSA. The negative value of ΔG<SUP>o</SUP> for binding of EA to HSA in the fluorescence studies indicates the process to be spontaneous. Thermodynamic signatures of the HSA-EA interaction in the complex reflect dominance of hydrogen bonds. Despite predominance of hydrogen bonds, hydrophobic interactions in the HSA-EA complex were found acting as a contributing factor in the binding of EA to HSA, observed as structural change in the far-UV CD spectra. Forster's resonance energy transfer of the EA-HSA complex revealed a distance of 3.2nm between acceptor molecules (EA) and the donor Trp residue of HSA. To have a deeper insight of the structural dependence of the HSA-EA interaction in the complex, thermodynamic study was supplemented with molecular docking. The molecular docking analysis further highlighted the EA binding in the subdomain IIIA (Sudlow site II) of HSA. The information generated in the study reflects greater pharmacological significance of EA and highlights its importance in the clinical medicine.
TRANSFERRIN POLYMORPHISMS AND GROWTH RATE IN RHODE ISLAND RED, CROSSBRED AND NATIVE CHICKENS

Transferrin polymorphisms and growth rate up to 12 weeks of age were observed in RIR. crossbreds and native chickens. $Tf^{BB}$ genotype was observed in all types of bird. $Tf^{BC}$ occurred only in crossbred and native chickens. Frequency of $Tf^B$ was the highest in all types. Mean body weights at 8- and 12- weeks of age were the highest in RIR ($292{\pm}37.77$ and $612{\pm}75.69g$ respectively) and the lowest in natives for $Tf^{BC}$ ($180{\pm}11.54$ and $308{\pm}4.94g$ respectively). The difference in 12 week body weigh t of crossbreds between $Tf^{BB}$ and $Tf^{BC}$ was found to be significant (p<0.05). The results indicate that crossbreds ($Tf^{BB}$) may be grown effectively upto 12 weeks of age under Bangladesh conditions.

<P>In this study, polypropylene (PP)/organoclay nanocomposites were prepared by melt-compounding PP with three levels of clay loading (3, 5 and 7 wt%), using two different compatibilizers with various contents (5, 10 and 15 wt %), maleic anhydride-grafted polypropylene (PPMA) and hexamethylenediamine-modified maleic anhydride-grafted polypropylene (PPHMA). Effects of structure, mechanical properties and crystallization behaviors of the compatibilizers on the clay dispersion and the amount of clay on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the nanocomposites were investigated. The PPHMA compatibilized system conferred higher mechanical properties than the PPMA compatibilized case. It was found that the PPHMA yielded better clay dispersion and more exfoliated structure compared with the PPMA. Microstructural characterization of the samples was also characterized by transmission electron microscopy. Differential scanning calorimetry results indicate that the addition of compatibilizer increased the crystallization temperature as a result of heterogeneous nucleation effect of clay on PP.</P>

<P>Photo-neutron cross sections of Au-197 were experimentally determined for the bremsstrahlung end-point energies of 50, 60, and 70 MeV, by utilizing activation and off-line gamma-ray spectrometric technique, using the 100 MeV electron linac at the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory (PAL), Pohang, Korea. The Au-197(gamma, xn; x = 1-6) reaction cross sections were calculated as a function of the bombarding photon energy by using the TALYS 1.6 computer code with default parameters. The flux-weighted average cross sections were obtained from the literature data and the theoretical values of TALYS 1.6 and TENDL-2014, for mono-energetic photons, and are found to be in good agreement with the present data. Isomeric yield ratios of (196m2,g)AU from the Au-197(gamma, n) reaction were also determined for the bremsstrahlung end-point energies of 50, 60, and 70 MeV, from the reaction cross sections of m2- and g-states, based on the present experimental data, and are found to be in good agreement with the theoretical values based on TALYS 1.6 and TENDL-2014.
