This study is concerned with a correlation between the microstructure and the micromechanism of fracture processes in an RSP/PM Al-8.5Fe-1.3V-1.7Si alloy. The specimens were exposed to the temperatures ranging from 150℃ to 480℃ for 100 hours, followed by room temperature tensile tests, fracture toughness tests and void initiation tests. This RSP/PM Al alloy did not show any significant change in room temperature tensile strength, tensile elongation and fracture toughness even after exposure up to 425℃ for 100 hours. However, tensile elongation and fracture toughness decreased significantly after exposed to 480℃ for 100 hours. Detailed microstructructural analyses showed that the alloy ahs a band structure due to non-uniform distribution of the silicide dispersoids. After exposure to 480℃, the formation of θ-Al₃Fe phases occurs at band structure boundaries by the dissolution of coarse silicide dispersoids, resulting in a loss of ductility and fracture toughness. The micromechanical processes involved in void and microcrack formation were identified and quantified. The results are interpreted using a simplified ductile fracture initiation model based on the basic assumption that crack extention starts to occur at a certain critical strain over a microsturcturally significant critical distance. This model enables us to correlate fracture toughness and microstructure, confirming that the formation of θ-Al₃Fe phases is the main metallurgical factor which contributes to the embrittlement phenomenon after exposure to 480℃ for 100 hours.

This paper reports a safe and environmentally-benign demilitarization method for the K305 35mm CS gas grenades launcher set(also known as E-8 launcher). The launcher system was disposed by a two-step process; complete recovery of the explosive cords and the gas grenades from the launcher followed by incineration of the recovered items in the APE-1236 Flashing Furnace. All of the 64 grenades within the 16 tubes of the E-8 launcher were safely recovered and incinerated. In this study, 32 sets of the launcher were used to make a standard operating procedure for the safe demilitarization of the launcher system and the 35mm CS cartridges were all safely destroyed in the experimental burning tests meeting the related environmental regulations.

This study was carried out to know the active fraction of Dryopteris rhizoma on antimicrobial activity against some food spoilage microorganisms. Also, antimicrobal activities were investigated for the aqueous and ethanolic extracts of four herbs such as Terminaliae fructus, Eugeniae flos, Salviae miltiorrhizae radix and Dryopteris rhizoma. Antimicrobial activities of three herbs except for Terminaliae fructus showed higher activities in 75% ethanolic extracts than in aquoeus extract. Ethanolic extract of Dryopteris rhizoma showed the highest antimicrobial activity among extracts of four herbs. Antimicrobial activity intensities of solvent fractions of Dryopteris rhizoma extracted by 75% ethanol were order to CHCl₃ fraction$gt;EtOAc fraction $gt;BuOH fraction$gt;H₂O fraction. The CHCl_(3+) EtOAc and BuOH fractions also inhibited growth of food spoilage microorganisms as the concentration increased, respectively. In case of EtOAc fraction, 1000 ppm of fraction almost inhibited completely the growth of microorganisms tested.
재배방법의 차이가 수도 품종의 생육·수량에 미치는 영향

본 시험은 중부지방에서 재배방법의 차이(이앙재배, 담수직파재배, 건답직파재배)에 따른 수도품종의 생육·수량의 변이를 알고자 1970-1972년에 걸쳐 수행되었던 바 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 파종에서 출수까지의 일수는 담수직파가 이앙재배에 비해 현저히 단축되었으며 건답직파재배는 이앙재배에 비해 출수일수가 연장되었다. 2. 수수는 담수직파재배, 건답직파재배, 이앙재배, 순으로 많았으며 일수영화수는 이앙재배, 건답직파재배, 담수직파재배순으로 많았다. 3. 정조중은 모두 품종 공히 담수직파재배에서 가장 많았고 이앙재배는 건답직파재배보다 증수되었으며 담수직파재배에서 고위수량성인 품종은 사도미노리, 아끼바레, 수원 213-001 등이었다. 4. 수량과 수량구성요소와의 상관을 보면 이앙재배에서는 현미천입중 및 일수영화수, 담수직파재배에서는 일수영화수 및 수수, 건답직파재배에서는 수수와 정(+)의 높은 상관이 인정되었다. 5. 정조중과 출수일수와의 상관은 건답직파재배와 담수직파재배에서는 부(-)의 상관관계가 현저하였으나 이앙재배에서는 부(-)의 상관이 매우 낮았다. This study was carried out in the central part of Korea for three years from 1970 to 1972. Its aim was to investigate the variations of growth and yield of rice varieties of different cultivating methods (transplanting culture, direct sowing culture on irrigated paddy field, and direct sowing culture on non-irrigated paddy field. The results could be summarized as follows; 1. The number of days from sowing to heading by direct sowing culture on irrigated paddy field was remarkably shorter than transplanting culture. Direct sowing culture on non-irrigated paddy field was longer than transplanting culture. 2. The number of panicles showed direct sowing culture on irrigated paddy field was first, direct sowing culture on non-irrigated paddy field was second, and third transplanting culture. But the number of spikelets per panicle was first on the transplanting culture, second on the direct sowing culture on non-irrigated paddy field and third on the direct sowing culture on irrigated paddy field. 3. The weight of the brown rice showed that direct sowing culture on irrigated paddy field produced the highest yield among the cultivating method in all varieties. The transplanting culture increased more than the direct sowing culture on non-irrigated paddy field. The highly productive varieties were Sadominory, Akibale, Suwon 213-1 when the direct sowing culture on irrigated paddy field was used. 4. The correlation between the brown rice yield and the yield components were as follows; in each cultivating method, it showed highly significant positive correlation between the brown rice yield and the 1, 000 grain weight of hulled rice, and between the brown rice yield and the number of the spiklets per panicle in the transplanting culture, in the direct sowing culture On irrigated paddy field between the brown rice yield and the number of spikelets per panicle and between the brown rice yield and the number of panicles, in direct sowing culture on non-irrigated paddy field between the brown rice yield and number of panicles. 5. It showed highly significant negative correlation between the brown rice yield and the number of days from sowing to heading in the direct sowing culture on irrigated and non-irrigated paddy field, but it was showed very low negative correlation in the transplant culture.
