The compressor’s efficiency affects on the fuel consumption of the vehicle because the compressors for car air-conditioning system are operated by engine-driven. Especially, the refrigerant is being changed recently from R134a to substitution refrigerant to protect environment pollution that people concerned about. However, that leads to lower efficiency of the car airconditioning system and worse fuel consumption of the vehicle. Thus, this paper is focused on the methods for improvement of the compressor’s efficiency that affects on the fuel consumption of the vehicle by numerical analysis for compressor’s performance and the measurement of cylinder volume and pressure when the compressor is being operated.
A Novel pH-Responsive Polymer Based Enzyme Free Stem Cell Detachment System for Skin Regeneration

Stem cell injection to skin wound site is a promising approach for wound healing. Trypsin treatment for detaching cells accompanies loss of extracellular matrix and often cause cell damage. In this study we synthesized novel pH-responsive polymer based on poly(amino ester) (mPAE) which can provide the appropriate cell culture condition for cell growth without cytotoxicity and detaching using low pH (6.0) PBS. mPAE showed no cytotoxicity and detached the human adipose derive stem cells (hADSCs) from the mPAE coated tissue culture plates (TCPs) by low pH (6.0) PBS. hADSCs cultured on and detached from mPAE coated TCPs showed similar cell adhesion and angiogenic paracrine factor secretion compared to hADSCs cultured on and detached from TCPs. Finally, hADSCs detached from mPAE coated TCPs showed similar angiogenesis and wound regeneration compared to hADSCs detached from TCPs. In conclusion, our mPAE might be utilized for enzyme free cell detachment system for future tissue engineering.

백금담지촉매의 수소 Spillover 현상을 선택적인 화학흡착과 Cyclohexene의 기상수소화 반응으로 조사하였다. 수소의 가역흡착량과 수소 Spillover되는량의 관계를 반응기구와 수소 Spillove의 개요도로 설명하였다. 담체나 희석제에 따라 반응활성도는 영향을 받지만 수소Spillover가 일어나더라도 활성화에너지나 반응기구는 변화가 없다. Hydrogen spillover phenomena on supported Pt catalysts were studied by means of selective chemisorption and vapor phase hydrogenation of cyclohexene. To illustrate the relation between the reversible hydrogen uptake and the amount hydrogen sprllovered, reaction mechanism and diagram of hydrogen sprllover were used. Reaction activity was influenced by the supports and diluents, but activation energy and reaction mechanism did not change even if hydrogen spillover occurred.

The objectives of this study were to estimate the cost-of-illness (COI) and health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) in Korea and to evaluate the effects of socio-demographic and clinical factors on the COI and the HRQOL. Face-to-face interview surveys were taken from patients with AS at the Rheumatology Clinic of Seoul National University Hospital. Direct medical and non-medical costs, indirect costs (productivity loss due to job loss and sick leave), and deterioration of HRQOL in patients with AS were measured. Factors associated with COI and HRQOL were analyzed with multiple regression and multivariate logistic regression. A total of 191 patients with AS was enrolled in the study. The COI in patients with AS amounted to 11,646,180 Korean Won (KRW) per patient, and their HRQOL was 0.62. As functional severity worsened, the total costs increased (class I, KRW 7.7 million; class II, KRW 12.9 million; classes III & IV, KRW 25.2 million) and the HRQOL scores decreased (class I, 0.72; class II, 0.61; classes III & IV, 0.24). Functional severity is the major determinant of the COI and HRQOL in patients with AS.
