Purpose:The purpose of the study was to determine factors affecting bone mineral density among premenopausal women aged over 45 years old and make a contribution to preventing osteoporosis among postmenopausal women. Materials and Methods:A total of 133 women enrolled in the study and completed a self-administered questionnaire that measured results of bone mineral density exam and biochemical exam, demographic characteristics, smoking and drinking, physical activities and reproductive characteristics. Results:The results of the study are summarized as follows: Of total subjects, 20.2% showed a reduction on bone mineral density. Age was the most important factor predicting bone mineral density level. A frequent intake of meat rather than vegetables had a significant impact on bone mineral density. Women with a menstruation cycle shorter than 28 days showed significantly high bone mineral density. Multiple regression analysis revealed a correlation between age and risk of osteoporosis. The explainability for variables was 16%. Conclusion:It is necessary to develop programs designed to help women in their 30s to maintain the maximum bone density and prevent osteoporosis after menopause.
산삼 배양근이 함유된 두피토닉이 두피와 모발에 미치는 영향

This study aims to identify the effects of the use of wild ginseng extracts-contained scalp tonic on scalp and hair. It targets 21 subjects in their 20ties who are living in Busan and they are divided into 3 groups: M-Group(Massage Group) of 7 subjects with scalp massage, and MT-Group(Massage Tonic Group) of 7 subjects with scalp massage and scalp tonic, and C-Group(Comparison Group) of 7 subjects without scalp massage and scalp tonic. The experiment is performed once a week from May 7th, 2012 to June 29th, 2012 for 8 weeks. Their top and front portions are measured with a scalp diagnosis machine(HMD scalp diagnosis system, Borntech, Korea) in week 4 and 8. As a result, it is found in MT-Group that hair density improved by 14.6 hairs (p<.01) in their top and 18.4 hairs (p<.001) in their front in week 8 and hair thickness improved by 0.019 mm(p<.01) in their top and 0.021 mm(p<.001) in their front in week 8. When it comes to scalp condition, normal scalp increased by 50% in week 8 in MT-Group. The MT-Group who received scalp massage and scalp tonic containing wild ginseng extracts is found to be the most effective group in hair density, hair thickness and scalp condition. Therefore, it can be concluded that scalp tonic containing natural substance Wild Ginseng is very effective for scalp and hair improvement.
유산균 발효에 관한 동력학적 연구(제2보) 발효에 미치는 온도의 영향

To know the influence of temperature on the fermentation process, a strain of Lactobacillus bulgarius was experimentally cultured three different temperature conditions of $39^{\circ}C,\;42^{\circ}C\;and\;45^{\circ}C$, pH 5.8 and mechanical agitation of 500rpm. During 20 hour's fermentation, the microbial growth attained the maximum concentration under the conditions mentioned above. However, the culturing conditions resulted different outcomes in terms of maximum concentration of the microbes and the residual concentration of substrate. Among the three temperature conditions, the fermentation at $45^{\circ}C$ was most effective and the maximum specific growth temperature conditions, the fermentation at $45^{\circ}C$ was most effective and the maximum specific growth rate was 0.58/hr. Activation energy deduced from the Arrhenius equation was 9,220cal/mole and entropy was $-33.74\;cal/^{\circ}K$ mole. Activation enthalpy was 9,845 cal/mole and free energy was 19,800 cal/mole. 유산균 식료공법에서 중요한 위치를 차지하는 L. bulgaricus의 배양온도에 의한 산소 효과 및 열역학적 고찰을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) L. bulgaricus를 20시간 배양시 균체는 최고농도에 달했고 배양온도 $39^{\circ}C,\;42^{\circ}C\;and\;45^{\circ}C$에서 각각 2.3UOD/ml, 2.6UOD/ml, 2.8UOD/ml로 나타났다. 2) 배양 30시간때 포도당 잔량은 배양온도 $39^{\circ}C,\;42^{\circ}C\;and\;45^{\circ}C$에서 각각 18.3g/l, 15.0g/l, 10.0g/l이었다. 3) 최대비증식속도는 배양온도, $39^{\circ}C,\;42^{\circ}C\;and\;45^{\circ}C$에서 각각 $0.42hr^{-1},\;0.48hr^{-1},\;0.58hr^{-1}$이었고 Saturation constant는 4.57mg/ml, 5.6mg/ml, 6.627mg/ml이었다. 5) 활성화 energy는 9,220cal/mol 배양온도의 변화에 따른 평균치로 활성화 entropy는 $-31.74cal/^{\circ}Kmol$, 반응열은 9,845cal/mol free energy는 19,800cal/mol이었다.

Objectives: This study evaluated the odor emission characteristics from a wastewater treatment plant in an industrial complex area in Daegu City. Methods: Odor samples were collected from March 2016 to December 2016 and were analyzed for specified offensive odor substances. The odor quotient and the odor contribution was calculated. Results: Ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, acetaldehyde, and toluene were detected in all samples for monitoring specified odor compounds. The result of contribution analysis is that hydrogen sulfide had the highest contribution in all processes, followed by acetaldehyde. Conclusion: The major components of odor can be determined by evaluating the degree of contribution to the odor intensity and the concentration of the individual odor component. To increase the effectiveness of odor reduction, rather than addressing high-concentration odor compounds, policies focused on materials with a high odor contribution are necessary.
아로마 오일을 이용한 두피수기요법이 두피와 모발 상태에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study is to discover the effect of scalp manual technic using aroma oil on the scalp and hair, and to contribute to the prevention of hair loss and the improvement of scalp health. The study was conducted on 21 women who reside in the Busan and Gyeongnam areas. Seven women were in the AM-Group (Aroma Manual Technic Group) who received manual technic using aroma oil, seven in the M-Group (Manual Technic Group) who received manual technic only, and seven were in the CG (Control Group) with no action taken. The subjects were measured at the top, front, and back using a scalp diagnosis machine (HMD scalp diagnosis system, Borntech, Korea) before the experiment, four and eight weeks after the experiment. The hair density measurement showed that the M-Group had an average of 8% more density after the experiment compared to before the experiment, while the AM-Group showed a statistically significant average increase of 12% compared to before the experiment (p/. 01). The hair thickness measurement showed that the M-Group had an average increase of 9% compared to before the experiment (p/. 01). The AM-Group showed a 30% increase compared to before the experiment (p/. 001). In the scalp condition, the M-Group showed a 38.1% improvement compared to before the experiment while the AM-Group showed a 52.4% improvement, showing a clearer scalp tone. Therefore, the treatment of scalp manual technic using aroma oil has potential effect to improve scalp conditions and prevent or manage hair loss in young people.
