        이 연구에서는 프리캐스트 와이드보-기둥 접합부의 내진성능에 대한 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 반복가력실험을 통해 실험체의 이력거동과 내진성능을 분석하였으며, 보에 부착된 게이지의 계측값을 통해 실험체의 전단지연효과를 확인하였다.

        A Functional Polymorphism in the CHRNA3 Gene and Risk of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in a Korean Population

        A genome-wide association study has identified the 15q25 region as being associated with the risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in Caucasians. This study intended as a confirmatory assessment of this association in a Korean population. The rs6495309C > T polymorphism in the promoter of nicotinic acetylcholine receptor alpha subunit 3 (CHRNA3)gene was investigated in a case-control study that consisted of 406 patients with COPD and 394 healthy control subjects. The rs6495309 CT or TT genotype was associated with a significantly decreased risk of COPD when compared to the rs6495309 CC genotype (adjusted odds ratio = 0.69, 95% confidence interval = 0.50-0.95, P = 0.023). The effect of the rs6495309C > T on the risk of COPD was more evident in moderate to very severe COPD than in mild COPD under a dominant model for the variant T allele (P = 0.024 for homogeneity). The CHRNA3 rs6495309C > T polymorphism on chromosome 15q25 is associated with the risk of COPD in a Korean population.

        Primary Conjunctival Mast Cell Tumor in a Korean Native Jindo Dog

        A 9-year-old, intact female Jindo dog weighing 23 kg was presented to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital of Chungnam National University with a history of two months of ocular discharge. Initial ocular examination showed a 2 cm elongated mass arising from the ventral bulbar conjunctiva of the left eye. Ocular ultrasound, performed to rule out any orbital and intraocular involvement, was negative. Thoracic radiographs and abdominal ultrasonography revealed no abnormalities. Fine needle aspiration (FNA) of mass was performed. Aspiration cytology showed the presence of a round cell population mostly characterized. A moderate amount of eosinophils was present among round cells. The mass was excised and identified hitologically as a mast cell tumor. Six months after surgical treatment, thoracic radiographs and abdominal ultrasonography did not reveal any clinical signs of local recurrence or metastatic disease.

        Histological Evaluation on the Biocompatibility and Degradation of Poly Lactic-co Glycolic Acid (PLGA) / Inorganic Filler Matrix in Surgically Created Intrabony 1-wall Defect in Beagle Dog.

        치주 질환으로 인하여 소실된 치주조직을 재생시키려는 여러 술식이 많이 연구되고 있다. 그 중 bioactive factor의 적용은 치주조직의 재생에 있어서 우수한 치료법으로 평가되고 있으며, 이를 수용부에 적절히 적용하기 위한 운반체로 생체친화적인 중합체가 이용되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 PLGA를 inorganic filler에 혼합시킨 재료를 성견의 일벽성 골내낭에 적용하여 이 재료의 생체 친화성과 생체 흡수도를 보고자 하는 것이다. 5마리의 비글견에서 제 3 소구치를 모두 발치한 뒤, 8주간의 치유기간이 지나고 제 2 소구치 원심면과 제 4 소구치 근심면에 5mm 깊이, 4mm폭의 일벽성 골내낭을 형성하였다. 좌측 defect에는 PLGA/inorganic filler matrix를 이식하였고 우측에는 아무것도 이식하지 않은 대조군으로 나누어 술 후 8주에 희생하여 치유 결과를 조직학적으로 비교 관찰하였다. 조직학적 분석 결과, 모든 결손부에서 염증의 소견이 관찰되지 않았으며 치근흡수와 유착은 발견되지 않았다. 백악질과 치조골, 치주인대를 포함한 치주조직의 재생에 있어서 대조군, 실험군 간에 조직학적으로 치유양상에 있어 차이를 많이 보이지 않았으며 PLGA/inorganic filler matrix는 8주 내에 완전히 흡수되어 결합조직이나 신생골내에서 그 흔적을 발견할 수 없었다. 이러한 결과는 PLGA/inorganic filler matrix는 생체친화성 및 생체흡수성이 우수한 재료로서 치주 조직의 재생 치료에 있어서 신체활성인자의 scaffold로 사용될 수 있는 가능성을 보여주었다.

        평가방법을 고려한 공동주택 바닥충격음 평가어휘 선정에 관한 연구

        In this study, the extracted words from the former study such as annoying, loud, noisy, irritating, disagreeable, strident, disturbed, and dissonant are given to subjects in psycho acoustic experiment lab. And then, correlation analysis between the words and floor impact noise rating method were carried out. As a result of this study followings are suggested ‘Annoying’ is the word most accurately expressing the subjects’ unpleasant feeling of domestic floor impact noise. The results of this study could be basic materials for psycho acoustic experiments for criteria on floor impact noise and Sound Classification on Floor Impact Sound Insulation Performance.

        Comparative Study of Wound Healing in Porcine Uterus with CO2 Laser and Scalpel Incisions

        This study compared the instrument performance and tissue healing of a steel scalpel with a CO2 laser in an animal uterine surgery model. Five Landrace and Yorkshire mixed breed pigs were used. Two symmetrical incisions were made in the uterine of each pig. One incision was made on the left side of the uterine horn using a steel scalpel, while the other incision was performed on the right side using a CO2 laser with an 8W output power. Each instrument was evaluated clinically for speed, ease of incision, and extent of bleeding. An ovariohysterectomy was performed at 21 days after the surgical procedure for a histological examination. The scalpel was an easier instrument to use in the confines of the uterine tissue, compared with the laser. However, there is no significant difference between the two groups. The amount of bleeding was less in the laser group but the time of the incisions was shorter with the scalpel. Postoperative uterus adhesion in the CO2 laser incisions was lower than the scalpel incisions. Scalpel incisions showed complete restoration of the epithelium and endometrial gland. On the other hand, the laser incisions showed incomplete restoration of the epithelium and endometrial gland. Although the scalpel produced less damage to the uterine tissue and was easier to handle than the CO2 laser, it did not provide hemostasis that was helpful for use on highly vascular tissue. The CO2 laser provided good hemostasis but delayed wound healing.

        Comparison of Wound Healing in Porcine Skin with Continuous-Wave and Pulsed Mode CO2 Laser Incisions

        The advantages of the CO2 laser are offset by the delay in laser wound healing secondary to thermal damage. To minimize the undesirable thermal damage of the CO2 laser, investigators have developed technical advances in the delivery system of the laser energy. This study compared tissue healing of the continuous and the pulsed modes CO2 laser wounds in an animal surgery model. Five healthy Landrace and Yorkshire mixed breeds of both genders were used (45-51 kg, 4-6 months old, three males and two females). A full thickness wound of skin (2 × 2 × 2 cm2)was made over on the each pig’s both sides of dorsal midline at 0, 7, 14, and 18 days. The wounds created at 18,14, 7 and 0 days were named post-wounding day (PWD) 3, 7, 14 and 21, respectively. In each pig, one wound (left side) was treated pulsed CO2 laser and the other wound (right side) was treated continuous wave CO2 laser. Each wound was closed with two interrupted suture of 3-0 sutures. At 21 days after initial wounding, each wound was taken for histological evaluations. The degrees of reepithelialization were performed more prominently in the pulsed mode group than in the continuous mode group. The degrees of granulation were greater significantly in pulsed mode group than those in the continuous mode on PWD 3 (p < 0.05). The degrees of fibroblasts in the pulsed mode group were greater significantly in comparison to those in the continuous mode group on PWD 7, (p < 0.05). In conclusion, reepithelialization,granulation and fibroblasts in the pulsed mode group were greater markedly in comparison to those in the continuous mode group. It was considered that pulsed mode CO2 laser was more suitable for the skin incision than the continuous mode CO2 laser.

        Intra-articular Corticosteroid Treatment of Biceps Tenosynovitis in a Dog

        forelimb lameness. Physical examination revealed pain response on left bicipital tendon during palpation of the tendonand shoulder flexion and extension. Radiographic findings of the left shoulder joint included intertubercular grooveosteophytes and periarticular changes. Arthrograms revealed a roughened and irregular appearance to the biceps tendon.Synovial fluid analysis is consistent with degenerated joint disease. It was diagnosed as biceps tenosynovitis on thebasis of history, physical examination, radiography and arthrograms. The dog was treated with medical management.Medical treatment included an aseptic intra-articular injectand strict exercise restriction. Three weeks later, the dog responded well to glucocorticoid therapy.

        문경 지역 신라석탑에 관한 고찰

        Mungyeong city, located in Gyeongsangbuk-do, has been an important transportation hub since ancient times due to the many mountain paths connecting it to Chungcheongbuk-do. The area around Gyerip Pass, which crosses the Sobak Mountain Range between Mungyeong and Chungju, has many Buddhist cultural sites and stone pagodas. There are currently six Silla stone pagodas in the Mungyeong area, all of which were built in the 9th century and they all feature only a single-stylobate. The stone pagoda in Mungyeong reflects the characteristics of Silla-style pagodas built along major transportation routes during the Unified Silla period. It adopts the style of the 9th-century single-stylobate stone pagodas in Gyeongju and reflects the trend of building pagodas. During the establishment of Seonjong Temple. There is a possibility that a stone pagoda was erected based on the concept of Bee-Bo(裨補; Defect-Complementing). The pagoda is significant as it showcases the transformation of Silla-style into Goryeo-style pagodas and highlights regional features. 경상북도 문경시에는 예로부터 충북으로 이어지는 여러 고갯길이 있었고, 이 지역은 오늘날에도 주요 교통로가 지나는 중요한 교통의 거점이다. 경북 문경과 충북 충주 사이의 소백산맥을 넘는 계립령상에 많은 불교유적이 확인되었고, 특히 문경 지역에는 많은 석탑이 건립되었다. 현존하는 문경의 신라석탑은 6기로, 모두 9세기에 건립된 단층기단 석탑으로 확인되었다. 단층기단 석탑은 다수가 별석 탑신받침과 함께 구성되는데, 문경의 단층기단 석탑에서는 별석받침과 함께 다양한 받침양식이 구현되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 그리고 문경의 석탑 조성의 현황을 통해 주요 교통로를 따라 건립되는 신라하대 석탑의 특징을 확인할 수 있다. 또한 문경의 석탑은 왕경의 9세기 단층석탑 양식을 기술적으로 수용하고, 선종 사찰이 전국적으로 개창되는 신라하대에 비보사탑적인 성격에 기인하여 입지했을 가능성을 살펴보았다. 이처럼 문경의 석탑은 지역적 특성을 나타내며 신라하대 석탑의 양식의 변화양상과 신라 전형석탑에서 고려의 석탑으로 이행을 보여주고 있어 석탑의 역사에서 의미가 크다.
