주류문화의 비판적 논점과 타자존중의 다문화교육 - 레비나스의 타자성의 철학을 중심으로 -

다문화사회가 보편화되고 있는 상황 속에서 다문화교육의 본질을 이해하기 위한 철학적 접근이 요구되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 먼저 주류 문화중심의 동화주의적 시각, 포스트 식민주의 성격의 문제, 신자유주의적 세계시민주의의 한계에 대한 비판적 문제제기를 국내외 연구들을 통해 살펴보았다. 두 번째는 주류문화로부터 배제되고 소외되고 있는 소수문화에 대한 존중과 배려를 주창하는 레비나스의 타자성의 철학을 통해 타자존중의 교육원리를 제시하고 그것의 다문화 교육의 철학적 가능성을 탐색하였다. 그리고 마지막으로 타자존중의 다문화교육의 구체적인 실천방안으로 대화적 교육방식과 책임의 교육원리, 그리고 타자 지향적 다문화교사상을 제시하였다. 이 연구는 다문화교육에 대한 철학적 접근을 통해 그동안 축적되어 온 다문화교육의 내용과 방법을 새롭게 검토하는 계기가 될 것이다. In a situation where a multicultural society is becoming more common, a philosophical approach is required to understand the nature of multicultural education. Therefore, in this study, we first looked at raising critical issues about the assimilationist perspective centered on mainstream culture in domestic and foreign studies, the problem of postcolonialism, and the limitations of neoliberal global citizenship. The second was to present the educational principle of respect for others through Levinas’philosophy of others, advocating respect and consideration for minority cultures excluded and alienated from mainstream culture, and to explore the philosophical possibility of multicultural education. And finally as a concrete practical way of multicultural education with respect for others, the educational principles of conversational education method, the principle of responsibility education, and the multicultural teachers’ model oriented toward others were presented. This study will serve as an opportunity to newly review the contents and methods of multicultural education that have been accumulated through a philosophical approach to multicultural education.
