This study was to inquire into the tendency of thought in the SiJO of illustrious officials in 16∼ 17 century, which had a distinct Taoism-oriented character. The inclination of Taoist life may have its roots in yearning and craving for SON(dhyana) world and a good man, while making a living in seclusion from the world. Through the embodiment of Taoist life, practical nature space was regarded as an enchanted land with his/herself treated as an unworlded person. the wish of eternal life made a wonderful remedy of eternal life & immortality called as the elixir of life to reach the stage of a fairyland, while being infatuated with Taoism thought of perennial youth and long life.

This thesis is an A study on Tradition Aspect of Seo Hwa-dam Novels. The times he lived was a period when 4 big purges of Confucian literati were continuous, so conflict and confront were deepening. Wha-dam, giving himself of the name of Yuja, was aiming for and craving for a Dhyana world against actuality by showing consciousness of aiming at two world of actuality⋅nature and Confucism⋅Taoist. He aimed at a transcendent life yearning for a Utopia and holding on to a realistic life, and tried to go with nature being free himself from physical restraint of the world. He, who couldn?t help removing realities in interest & continuous expression in the actual, was immersed in a Taoism thought singing hills and waters. Because Wha-dam?s dhyana space was nature, a craving for the emancipation of self and a fairyland through the medium of nature was naturally expressed. By immersing in Taoist ideas on the basis of confucian ideas, he wrote Seo Hwa-dam Novel including confucian & Taoist Novel. So he was appraised as a person who contributed much to our Novel literature history with confucian and Taoism. (Daegu University)

SPECT(single photon emission computed tomography) using 99m-Tc-HMPAO is a current method of identifying the relative condition of cerebral blood perfusion in pathologic conditions of the brain such as TIA, complete cerebral infarction, dementia, and psychologically ill states. The purpose of this article is to evaluate the significance of SPECT in head injuries. According to the other previous reports, there are several drawbacks in SPECT to evaluate the victims of head injury such as uncooperability of the patient, long scanning time, poor patient monitoring during the scanning time, poor availability, etc. The authors analyzed 54 cases of head injury patients, studying SPECT and CT in regard to the comparison of CT and SPECT, the relation of SPECT and the severity of the head injury, the duration of admission and the SPECT findings. The results were as follows: 1) In focal lesion, CT was more available for the quick evaluation of the location, size, and rapid decision making, and SPECT was available for the adjuvant method of postoperative follow-up. 2) In diffuse brain lesion, CT showed only the diffuse brain swelling and SPECT was available for more fine localization of the lesion. 3) In mild head injury, CT could not identify the location of the lesion and SPECT showed focal perfusion defects(55%).

This thesis is an study on Taoist poetic word of Hwa-dam, Seo Kyung-deok. The times he lived was a period when 4 big purges of Confucian literati were continuous, so conflict and confront were deepening. Under this social atmosphere and poor home background, he, posing as 'a forest retired gentleman' during most of his life, cultivated many pupils devoting entirely to learning, and on the other hand, he was on the top of Korean philosophy ideas which systematizing the spirits monism with the principle-spirits dualism of Toei Kyei after devoting to Spirits study a study on principles of life and the universe. Because Hwa-dam, who was affected by the number ideas of So Kang-ju and by the alone-spirits argument of Jang Hoing-gu, argued the spirits monism·creating·changing·extinguishing the whole creation, so it seemed that for he, spirits was a central thought and the heart of learning. Also he was interested in Confucian philosophy, not remaining in Confucianism. Therefore, he dreamed a dhyana maximizing an imagination, and space he lived was expressd as dhyana-sutra and himself as dhyana-man in poems. Nature, for Hwa-dam, was a confliciting space against the reality and a space for restoring calm and training mentality at the same time. By immersing in Taoist ideas on the basis of Confucian ideas, he wrote several poems including Confucian & Taoist poems. So he was appraised as a person who contributed much to our poetry literature history with Confucian and Taoism.

Generally, the posterolateral approach had been recommended in case of extraforaminal disc herniation or lateral stenosis but it has been speculated that this procedure may be feasible to posterolateral disc herniation at the high lumbar levels of the L1-L2 interspace. Topographically, a posterolateral approach should be able to access anteromedial side of the spinal canal without the risk of the bony instability and damage to the neural structures. During the past one year period, three patients with high lumbar discs at the L1-L2 level were treated by the modified posterolateral approach. This article describeds the details of this approach with pertinent literature review.
