Three Year-Old Children's Number Correspondence In Terms of Material Type

The effect of allelochemicals on growth, root nodule nitrogen fixation activity, and ion patterns of soybeans were investigated. We prepared 50 g/L (T50), 100 g/L (T100), and 200 g/L (T200) extract concentrations by soaking fresh red pine needles in a nutrient solution. Adding needles to the nutrient solution increased the content of total phenolic acids,osmolality, and total ions. The total phenolic content in the T50, T100, and T200 extracts were 206 ± 12.61, 335 ± 24.16,and 603 ± 12.30 mg gallic acid equivalents, respectively. The K^+, Mg^(2+), Ca^(2+), and PO_4^(3-) content increased by adding needles to the nutrient solutions, whereas SO_4^(2-) content decreased. The growth inhibition of soybeans was proportional to the needle extract concentrations, and the T100 and T200 concentrations resulted in remarkable growth inhibition. On day 20 after treatment, dry weight and nitrogen fixation activity of the root nodules were reduced by the T100 and T200 treatments,whereas the T50 treatment was not difference from the control. After day 10, total ion content in all treatment groups was not different in comparison with the control. However, total ionic content in all treatment groups decreased significantly compared with that in the control after day 20. The lowest total ion value was found for the T200 concentration. The T200 treatment also resulted in significantly reduced SO_4^(2-) content. The amounts of Mg^(2+), Ca^(2+), and Mn^(2+) were higher than those of the control for the T50 treatment on day 10 and for T100 on day 20 after treatment. A significant increase in osmolality was observed in the T200 treatment on day 10 and in the T100 treatment on day 20. These results suggest that under severe allelochemical stress conditions, a remarkable reduction in nodule formation, nitrogen fixation activity, and ion uptake eventually resulted in a decrease in leaf production. Furthermore, increased K+, Mg2+, Ca2+,Mn2+, and osmolality in soybeans exposed to lower concentrations of allelochemicals than the critical stress level helped overcome the stress.

The purpose of this study is to examine three, five and seven-year old children's understanding of quantitative invariance. Young children were expected to transform five times according to three different domains. The subjects of this study were 60 children in three groups(each group had 20 children). Fifteen items were given to them to judge how they could transform according to three domains. The data were ananlyzed by ANOVA using SPSS PC^+ Program. The results of this study were as follows. First, the three, five and seven-year old children showed differences according to their age in understanding quantitative invariance and measurement competence. We will be able to help children develop their competence to understand and measure quantitative invariance through their rich experiences at each age. Second, the subjects of this study did not show differences in the five transformations according to the three domains. We will be able to help children develop their competence to understand and measure quantitative invariance through their experiences of various domains(length, weight, area, volume etc.). Third, there were differences in the ability to understand the quantitative invariance through five transformations(color, positional change, roll out, number, superimpose). We ought to give the children various experiences of making easy and hard judgements for transformation.

본 연구는 유아기 교수-학습 방법에 대한 기초 이론과 수학교육에서의 교수-학습 방법에 대한 제안들을 근거로 유아에게 적절하고도 효과적인 수학 교수-학습 방법은 무엇인지를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 구성주의에 근거한 상호적 접근과 교수-학습을 위한 기타 제안들 그리고 활동중심의 통합적 접근으로 나누어 그 이론적 기초와 구체적인 적용방법에 대해 자세히 살펴보았다. 구성주의에 근거한 상호적 접근은 Piaget와 Vygotsky의 견해와 인지적 도제모형, 상황적 교수 모형, 그리고 인지적 유연성 이론의 세가지를 포함하였고, 기타 제안들에는 NCTM, NAEYC, Schweinhart Perlmutter, Bloom & Burrell, 그리고 Althouse의 견해를 포함하였다. 그리고 활동중심의 통합적 접근은 수학적 개념 중심의 활동 통합교육과 활동 중심의 수학 통합교육으로 나누어 Web을 구성하고 적용하는 과정을 알아보았다.
Writing about the Holocaust Using Deliberate Obscurity in W. G. Sebald's Austerlitz

Realistic representation has been regarded as the most adequate and valid approach in Holocaust literature, however, its problems have been also fiercely debated and criticized. Written in a mix of various genres, German writer W. G. Sebald’s Austerlitz (2001) rejects realistic representation. In the novel, an anonymous German narrator tells the story of Jacques Austerlitz, who tries to trace his forgotten memory of his parents, victims of the Holocaust. Despite the extensive inclusion of memoirs, historical documents, and photographs, the novel only offers an abstract, obscure, and incomplete view of Austerlitz’s past and the Holocaust in a non-linear narrative. This unique representation of the Holocaust is, however, largely neglected in current scholarship that has focused on the novel’s hybrid form and Sebald’s use of photography. Examining how Sebald intentionally creates and increases the uncertainty of the narrator’s and protagonist’s accounts, I explore how his synoptic representation reflects changing shapes and paradigms of Holocaust literature.
