인유두종 바이러스는 표피세포에 감염되는 DNA 바이러스로 자궁경부암을 일으키는 가장 큰 요인이다. 현재까지 100 여개의 종류가 알려져 있고 악성종양 유발 가능성에 따라 위험군을 나누는데, 여기서 중요한 것은 고위험군을 저위험군으로 잘못 분류하는 것을 최소화하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 분류를 위한 데이터로 인유두종 바이러스에 관한 문서 자료들을, 기계 학습 방법으로 분류 비용을 고려해 줄 수 있는 비용 의존 학습을 이용하였다. 실험결과, 비용을 고려해 주는 것이 고려하지 않았을 때보다 더 좋은 성능을 나타내었다.
Identification of Ethnically Specific Genetic Variations in Pan-Asian Ethnos

Asian populations contain a variety of ethnic groups that have ethnically specific genetic differences. Ethnic variants may behighly relevant in disease and human differentiation studies. Here, we identified ethnically specific variants and theninvestigated their distribution across Asian ethnic groups. We obtained 58,960 Pan-Asian single nucleotide polymorphismsof 1,953 individuals from 72 ethnic groups of 11 Asian countries. We selected 9,306 ethnic variant single nucleotidepolymorphisms (ESNPs) and 5,167 ethnic variant copy number polymorphisms (ECNPs) using the nearest shrunken centroidmethod. We analyzed ESNPs and ECNPs in 3 hierarchical levels: superpopulation, subpopulation, and ethnic population. Wealso identified ESNP- and ECNP-related genes and their features. This study represents the first attempt to identify Asian ESNPand ECNP markers, which can be used to identify genetic differences and predict disease susceptibility and drug effectivenessin Asian ethnic populations.

Purpose In this study, we investigated the frequencies of mutations in DNA damage repair genes including BRCA1, BRCA2, homologous recombination genes and TP53 gene in ovarian highgrade serous carcinoma, alongside those of germline and somatic BRCA mutations, with the aim of improving the identification of patients suitable for treatment with poly(ADPribose) polymerase inhibitors. Materials and Methods Tissue samples from 77 Korean patients with ovarian high-grade serous carcinoma were subjected to next-generation sequencing. Pathogenic alterations of 38 DNA damage repair genes and TP53 gene and their relationships with patient survival were examined. Additionally, we analyzed BRCA germline variants in blood samples from 47 of the patients for comparison. Results BRCA1, BRCA2, and TP53 mutations were detected in 28.6%, 5.2%, and 80.5% of the 77 patients, respectively. Alterations in RAD50, ATR, MSH6, MSH2, and FANCA were also identified. At least one mutation in a DNA damage repair gene was detected in 40.3% of patients (31/77). Germline and somatic BRCA mutations were found in 20 of 47 patients (42.6%), and four patients had only somatic mutations without germline mutations (8.5%, 4/47). Patients with DNA damage repair gene alterations with or without TP53mutation, exhibited better disease-free survival than those with TP53 mutation alone. Conclusion DNA damage repair genes were mutated in 40.3% of patients with high-grade serous carcinoma, with somatic BRCAmutations in the absence of germline mutation in 8.5%. Somatic variant examination, along with germline testing of DNA damage repair genes, has potential to detect additional candidates for PARP inhibitor treatment.

This study was conducted to investigate the antioxidant activities and physiological properties of Euphorbia humifusa extracts prepared using three different solvents (water, ethanol, and methanol). The highest total polyphenol content (293.25 mg/100 g) and total flavonoid content (21.05 mg/100 g) were observed in the methanol extract. The content of substances related to proanthocyanidin were highest in the water extract (8.42 mg/100 g), followed by methanol (5.70 mg/100 g) and ethanol (5.39 mg/100 g) extracts. The DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activities of the methanol extract were 91.72% and 85.83%, respectively, at 50 mg% concentrations, which were higher than those of the other extracts. The extract reducing power decreased in the following order: ethanol > methanol > water. The methanol extract had relatively high antioxidant activity. The α-glucosidase and xanthine oxidase inhibitory activities of the methanol extract at a concentration of 10 mg% were somewhat higher than the other extracts. HMG-CoA reductase inhibitory activity in the water extract was slightly higher than in the methanol and water extracts. These results indicated that Euphorbia humifusa extracts were a high-value food ingredient due to their antioxidant activities and nutritional value.
