Recognition of 3D objects using computer vision is complicated by the fact geometric features vary with view orientation. An important factor in designing recognition algorithms in such situations is understanding the variation of certain critical features. The features selected in this paper are the angles between landmarks in a scene. In a class of polyhedral objects the angles at certain vertices may form a distinct and characteristic alignment of faces. For many other classes of objects it may be possible to identify distinctive spactial arrangements of some readily identifiable landmarks. In this paper given an isotropic view orientation and an orthographic projection the two dimensional joint density function of two angles in a scene is derived. Also the joint density of all defining angles of a polygon in an image is derived. The analytic expressions for the densities are useful in determining statistical decision rules to recognize surfaces and objects. Experiments to evaluate the usefulness of the propesed methods are reported. Results indicate that the method is useful and powerful.

휴대폰의 지도서비스는 단말기의 해상도와 프로세스의 제약으로 인하여 데이터를 간략화하면서 시용자의 이해도를 높일 수 있는 약도의 제공이 보다 효율적일 수 있다. 약도는 출발지와 목적지의 경로를 중심으로, 주변의 중요한 도로나 지형지물 등을 단순화하여 사용자가 이해하기 쉽게 표현된 형태이다. 약도 서비스를 위해서는 우선 출발지와 목적지의 경로 및 그 주변 도로를 선택하여 약도식으로 간략화하는 방법이 필요하며, 단말기의 해상도에 적합하게 주변 지형지물을 간략화 된 도로와 함께 약도화하여 표현하는 방법이 필요하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 휴대폰에서 지도를 효율적으로 표현하기 위하여, 지도 일반화 개념을 이용한 약도화 방법을 제안하였다. 제안하는 약도 표현 방법은 현재 상업적으로 서비스되고 있는 지도 서비스와 비교하여 도로를 구성하는 노드의 수가 감소하고, 중요한 지형지물의 선택 등을 수행하여 데이터 효율성이 우수하고, 경로의 명시성과 이해도가 높은 것으로 조사되었다. In the mobile phone map service there are some restrictions of resolutions and process in terminals. So providing a sketch map is very efficient. This simplifies the map data and increases the understanding of the user. This sketched map marks the starting point and ending point. Then simplifies the surroundings like important roads or building so the user can find his/her way easily. First of all this sketch map service needs a method to simplify the route between starting point and ending point and the surroundings. After that it needs to make the simplified data into a sketch map and suitable to the terminal`s resolution. To solve these problems this paper proposes a new method to manifest a sketch map efficiently through a mobile phone. The method, introduced in this paper, is surveyed to have a higher efficiency in data usage compared to the current services available in the market. And also it is examined to have a clear vision in process and easily understandable.
