셀 스크리닝 방식에 기반한 ATM Firewall Switch의 설계

기존의 라우터 기반의 패킷 스크리닝 방식은 ATM 네트워크 상에서는 패킷 수준의 스크리닝 기능의 적용을 위하여 SAR(Segmentation And Reassembly) 과정을 필요로 하기 때문에 고속의 셀 처리를 수행하는 ATM Switch의 셀 처리 속도를 저하시킨다는 문제점을 안고 있다. 본 논문에서는 셀 스크리닝 방식에 기반한 병렬 처리 구조의 ATM Firewall Switch를 제안한다. 제안된 Enhanced ATM Firewall Switch는 셀 단위로 분할된 패킷의 1, 2번 셀들에 대한 검사만을 통하여 스크리닝 기능을 수행하기 때문에 셀 단위의 스크리닝 수행이 가능하며, 정책 캐쉬의 도입을 통해 셀 스크리닝 수행속도를 향상하였다. 또한 독립적인 User Cells Filter 기능 블록의 설계를 통하여 병렬 처리 구조의 셀 스크리닝 수행이 가능하도록 구성하여 셀 지연 시간을 최소화하였다.

The billing management techniques for multiple services in the B-ISDN network have been rarely developed. In fact, the management techniques including billing management only focus on a single service environment. In this paper, we propose a billing management system architecture for the multiple services in a Broadband access network. The architecture is based on OSI system management infrastructure and TMN Q3 interface to exchange and process the billing information from access node that is an ATM Cross-connecter. The system is designed to actively adopt the rapidly changing service environments and B-ISDN network management techniques. Futhermore, this system supports multiple services providers by real-time collector and charging functions for their requirements compared to the previous methodologies that only use the statistical data.

With a remarkable growth and expansion of Internet, the security issues emerged from intrusions and attacks such as computer viruses, denial of services and hackings to destroy information have been considered as serious threats for Internet and the private networks. To protect networks from those attacks, many vendors have developed various security systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access control systems. However, managing those systems individually requires too much work and high cost. Thus, integrated security management and establishment of consistent security policy for various security products has become more important. In this paper, we propose integrated security management system called WISMSF(Web based Integrated Security Management System for Firewalls) to monitor and control various kinds of firewalls. WISMSF consists of three components - clients, integrated engine, and agents. It supports the transparent management functions of security products, easy ways of defining security policies, and simple expansion of managed ranges.
