In this wort ER(electro-rheological) clutch and MR(magneto-rheological) clutch are devised and their performance characteristics such as response time and controllability are compared. As a first step, field-dependent yield stresses of ER and MR fluids are distilled in shear mode. For reasonable comparison between two clutches, a nondimensional design model is established by choosing same design parameters of gap size and number. Following the manufacturing of two clutches, field-dependent torque level, response time to step input, mechanical Power generation to electric power consumption are experimentally measured and compared. In addition, in order to investigate torque controllability of the clutches a sliding mode controller is formulated and experimentally realized. Control bandwidths of two clutches are identified and tracking control responses for desired torque trajectories are presented.

유전자 조절망은 유전자의 발현이 다른 유전자에게 영향을 주는 것을 표현하는 유전자 망이다. 오늘날 마이크로 어레이 실험으로부터 유전자의 발현량을 측정한 대용량의 데이터가 이용 가능하다. 전형적인 데이터중의 하나는 특정 유전자를 제거한 후 다른 유전자의 발현량을 측정한 steady-state data이다. 본 논문은 이런 측정 데이터를 이용하여 중복 정보를 최소화하는 유전자 조절망을 재구성하는 방법을 제시한다. 제시한 모델은 기존 연구에서는 고려되지 않았던 사이클 형태로 나타나는 자동 조절 기능을 고려하였고, 또한 유전자의 억제자 또는 촉진자 역할을 고려하였다. A gene regulatory network is a network of genes representing how genes influence the activities of other genes. Nowadays from microarray experiments. a large number of measurements on the expression levels of genes are available. One of typical data is the so-called "steady-state model" data measuring the expression levels of other genes after knocking out a particular gene. This paper shows how to reverse engineer a parsimonious gene regulatory network. using these measurement data. Our model considers auto-regulation. which forms a cycle in a genetic network. We also model repressor and enhancer roles of genes. which are not considered in previous known methods.
Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta 지역의 Arhuaco 소우주 및 세계관 연구

The Arhuaco people, with a population of 27,000, are natives in Columbia and ancestors to the people in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta area. The Sierra Nevada is located in the world`s highest coastal area with an area of ?12,600 square kilometers. It also has varied biodiversity with extremities in climate. This area is known as the microcosm of the world as every single ecosystem can be found here. Unique and diverse organisms exist here due to climate extremities of desert temperatures to arctic temperatures. In Spanish, `ecosofia` is an ecology-based philosophy that is upheld as the way of life in the Arhuaco community. These people believe that human beings and nature are spiritually connected to each other. The objective of this study is to investigate the geographical view of the plateau region in terms of how they preserved their unique culture for centuries in an unusual geographical environment. In addition, we want to describe how the geographical characteristics of the organisms and microcosm have influenced the philosophical worldview of these peoples. Finally, we would like to study whether the natural disasters of the world are caused by the imbalance in nature as they claim, and research the precious philosophies of indigenous peoples of equality, conservation and harmony, and the origin of things. Through this study, the religious beliefs and philosophy of the Aboriginal tribe of Arhuaco, who pursue spiritual exchanges with nature, was found to value sustainable conservation of nature without environmental destruction

제2외국어로서의 영어학습에 대한 많은 연구를 통해 교수법에 따라 학생들의 흥미 유발과 수업에 대한 학생들의 참여 정도가 달라지는 것으로 밝혀져 왔다. 더욱이 언어습득에 대한 많은 연구에서 일반 정규 학습보다 사이버 상의 학습을 통해 더 많은 흥미와 관심을 가지는 것으로 알려져 왔다. 이 연구는 이러한 시대의 변화에 따라 학생들의 요구와 관심을 충족시킬 수 있는 영어 교수법의 개발 필요성을 제기하고 있다. 인터넷 시대에 다양한 학습 방법을 통해 보다 학생들이 적극적으로 수업을 참여할 수 있는 모형을 개발하여야 한다. 이 연구는 또한 여러 디지털콘텐츠 저작도구를 사용하여 학생들의 흥미를 유발하는 멀티미디어 교재를 도입하고자 한다. 이러한 실험을 통해 약간의 학생들을 무작위로 표본 추출하여 통제집단과 실험집단으로 구분하여 멀티미디어 저작도구의 도입을 통한 영어 수업의 효과를 분석하였다. Many studies have researched how to teach and learn English as a second language. Students are to be made interested in learning of English so that the teaching method may be the most effective. This study, therefore, suggests that the existing teaching methods have to be modified according to with the changes of the times. These changes are coming from the demands of students who are living in the internet age. The purpose of this study is to research on the multimedia contents for English education and suggest the model of web-based contents. This study shows how to produce multimedia textbooks which are able to attract the students" interests when they use the digital tools. For this purpose, some students were picked at random as experimental subjects. The group was divided into target and controlled groups, making sure they had common English abilities. The lecture based on digital contents has support from these students, who stated on the questionnaire that they had a positive learning experience using web-based contents. This means that it is more effective for the target group students to be taught by the approach of the multimedia contents.
