1990년 영산강의 오염예상지역 송정리와 오염가능지역 동강 및 비오염예상지역 나주호에 서식하는 담수어의 중금속 함유량 측정 결과는 다음과 같다.<br/> Hg 함유량은 평균 0.022~0.139ppm분포이고, 동강의 메기근육에서 가장 높고 동지역의 잉어 아가미가 가장 낮았다. 어종별 수은 함유량의 높은 순서는 메기, 가물치, 붕어, 잉어이고, 이들 측정값은 규제치에 미달된다. Pb함유량은 평균 0.666~1.984ppm이고 송정 붕어뼈가 가장 높고 동지역 잉어 근육이 가장 낮다. 어종별 Pb함유량의 높은 순서가 메기, 붕어, 가물치, 잉어이고, Pb측정치는 국내외 수산물 규제치에 훨씬 미달한다. Zn함유량은 평균 8.673~15.214ppm으로 외국의 규제치 40~50ppm에 훨씬 미달한다. 어종별 Zn함유량의 높은 순서는 붕어, 메기, 가물치, 잉어이고 송정 붕어 아가미가 가장 높고 나주호 붕어 근육이 가장 낮다. Mn함유량은 평균 2.751~5.049ppm이고 동강 메기 아가미가 가장 높고 나주호 메기 근육이 가장 낮다. 어종별 Mn함유량의 높은 순서는 메기, 붕어, 잉어, 가물치이다. Cu함유량은 평균 0.328~1.174ppm이고 동강 가물치 아가미에서 가장 높고 나주호 잉어근육이 가장 낮다. 어종별 Cu함유량의 높은 순서는 가물치, 잉어, 붕어, 메기 이다. Cu검출량도 규제치 이하이다. Cd함유량은 평균 0.017~0.052ppm으로 오염된 상태가 아니라고 생각된다. 동강 잉어 뼈에서 가장 높고 송정 잉어 근육이 가장 낮다. Cd함유량의 높은 순위의 어종은 잉어, 메기, 가물치, 붕어이다.<br/> 이상의 결과로 영산강 담수어의 중금속 오염실태가 아직은 우려 할 정도가 아닌 것으로 판단된다. This study was performed to investigate the contamination level of harmful metals in 4 species of freshwater fishes collected at the three sampling sites of Yeong san river from January to October in 1990. The levels of total mercury, lead, zinc, manganese, copper and cadmium were determined and the results were summarized as follows : The overall range(ppm) were Hg, 0.022~0.139 ; Pb, 0.666~1.984 ; Zn, 8.673~15.214 ; MD, 2.751~5.049 ; Cu, 0.328~1.174 ; Cd, 0.017~0.052. Among the six heavy metals contents, the highest was zinc and the lowest was cadmium. The results showed that all the 4 species of freshwater fishes of Yeong san river studied have not yet dangerous levels enough to pose a health problem.

NF-κB 활성 저해를 통한 협죽도 에탄올 추출물의 항염증 효능

정상세포뿐 만 아니라 형질 전환된 세포의 증식조절에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려진 COX-2는 전사조절 인자인 NF-κB에 의해서 조절되며, 염증반응에 있어서 중요한 역할을 하는 PGE2의 생성에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 U937 인체혈구세포에서 염증유발인자인 PMA에 의해서 유발되는 염증반응에 있어서 중요한 역할을 하는 COX-2 및 COX-2의 산물인 PGE2와 COX-2의 발현에 영향을 미치는 전사조절인자인 NF-κB의 발현에 협죽도 잎 및 줄기의 에탄올 추출물인 ENIL 및 ENIS가 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지를 조사하였다. PMA가 처리된 U937 세포에서 COX-1의 발현에는 아무런 영향을 미치지 못하였지만 COX-2의 발현 증가가 유도되었고 이에 따른 PGE2의 생성이 증가되었다. PMA에 의해서 증가된 COX-2의 발현이 ENIS 선처리에 의하여 거의 완벽하게 억제되었고 그에 따른 PGE2의 생성도 현저하게 감소되었다. ENIS에 의한 COX-2의 발현 및 PGE2의 생성억제가 전사조절인자인 NF-κB와 상관성이 있는지를 조사한 결과, 핵 내로의 NF-κB 이동이 ENIS 선처리에 의하여 억제되는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 ENIS가 NF-κB의 활성 억제를 통하여 COX-2의 발현 및 PGE2의 생성을 효과적으로 억제함으로서 항염증 효능을 가진다는 것을 의미하는 결과이다. 하지만 ENIL의 경우에는 이상에서와 같은 이러한 변화들이 매우 약하게 나타나는 것으로 조사되어 ENIS와 비교해서 항염증 효능이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 협죽도의 항염증기전에 대한 생화학적 해석 및 이를 활용한 향후 지속적인 연구를 위한 귀중한 자료가 될 것으로 생각된다. Nerium indicum, an India-Pakistan-originated shrub belonging to the oleander family, is reported to possess many pharmacological activities including cardiac muscle stimulation, and anti-diabetes, anti-angiogenesis, anti-cancer and neuro-protective activities. However, the anti-inflammatory properties of N. indicum were unclear. In this study, we investigated the effects of ethanol extract of the N. indicum leaf and stem (ENIL and ENIS) on the expression of anti-inflammatory mediators in U937 human pre-monocytic cell models. In U937 cells stimulated with phorbol 12-myristate-13-acetate (PMA), pre-treatment with ENIS significantly inhibited the expression of both cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) mRNA and protein, which are associated with inhibition of the release of prostaglandin E₂ (PGE₂), whereas the inhibitory effects appeared weakly in ENIL. Moreover, ENIS significantly attenuated PMA-induced IkappaB (IκB) degradation and suppressed elevated nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) nuclear translocation. Taken together, these findings provide important new insights that N. indicum exhibits anti-inflammatory properties by suppressing the transcription of pro-inflammatory cytokine genes through the NF-kB signaling pathway.

Actindia chinensis의 一般成分, 遊離糖 및 amino acid 組成狀態를 알아보기 위하여 HPLC 등으로 분석, 定量한 結果는 다음과 같다. 1. 粗蜜白質量은 2.77%, 炭水化物量은 11.97%이었다. 2. 遊離糖으로는 glucose, fructose, sucrose 및 maltose가 檢出되었으며 과육부에는 fructose, 껍질부에는 sucrose 및 maltose가 많이 함유되었다. 3. 과육질 및 껍질부에서 17種의 總 및 유리 amino acid이 검출되었는데 과육부에는 isoleucine 191.52mg/100g, glutamic acid 160.93mg/100g, 껍질부에는 g1utamic acid 203.36mg/100g, aspartic acid 168.46mg/100g으로 가장 많이 함유되어 있으며, 必須 아미노산 量은 껍질부가 528.23mg/100g으로 과육부 (350.90mg/loog)보다 약 1.5배 정도 많았다. 4. 遊離 아미노산 量은 과육부 (136.89mg/loog)가 껍질부 (120.55mg/100g)에 비해 다소 많았으며 他 과일에 비하여 histidine, arginine量이 많았다. Approximate compositions, and contents of free sugars and amino acids of edible and nonedidle portion in Kiwi fruit 〔Actindia chinensis planch〕were analyzed by HPLC. The results were as follows; The contents of protein and sugars in kiwi fruit were 2.77% and 11.97%, respectively. Glucose, fructose, sucrose and maltose were detected and fructose was rich in edible portion, and sucrose and maltose in nonedible portion. 17 kinds of total amino acids were detected in edible and nonedible portion. The contents of isoleucine(191.52mg/100g) and glutamic acid (160.93mg/100g) in edible portion, and glutamic acid (203.36mg/100g) and asparatic acid (168.48mg/100g) in nonedible portion were high. Total amounts of essential amino acids of nonedidle portion (523.23mg/100g) were rich than that of edible portion (350.90mg/100g). Free amino acids were contained 136.89mg/100g in edible portion and 120.55mg/100g in nonedible portion. Histidine and arginine were found in abundance, compared to other fruits (orange and strawbeery).
