N/A Hemodynamic parameters and mitral valve areas were determined in patients with mitral stenosis from continuous wave Doppler echocardiograms recorded by an apical approach. The study population consisted of 16 pure or predominant mitral stenosis and 15 combined with regurgitation, and also 15 normals for comparison. In patients with mitral vale diseases, various parameters derived from diastolic Doppler spectrums revealed distinct hemodynamic alterations, and showed close correlations with the mitral valve areas obtained from 2-dimensional echocardiograms. Furthermore, the mitral valve areas determined both by Doppler and 2-dimensional methods were significantly correlated each other. These facts suggest that Doppler echocardiography is one of useful tools for the diagnosis and evaluation of the severity of mitral stenosis as well as for the estimation of the mitral valve areas even in patients with combined regurgitation.

이 논문에서는 웹을 사용하는 과정에서 공인인증서 제출을 위하여 필수적으로 사용되는 부가 애플리케이션의 하나인 공인인증서 가입자 소프트웨어의 장애인 접근성을 평가하는 방법과 계량 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법은 전문 평가 도구를 이용하여 접근성을 평가하고, 평가기준별로 점수화하는 것으로, 스크린리더에 익숙하지 않은 소프트웨어 개발자도 장애인 접근성을 스스로 평가할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 제안한 방법을 이용하여 78개 기관이 제공하는 공인인증서 가입자 소프트웨어의 접근성 수준을 측정해 본 결과, 전체 기관의 62%인 48개 기관이 제공하는 공인인증서 서비스의 접근성 수준이 70점미만으로 시각장애인의 사용이 불가능하였다. 평가에서 최고점(88점)을 받은 18개 기관이 제공하는 공인인증서 서비스조차 스크린리더를 이용하는 시각장애인의 접근이 부분적으로 어려웠다. 이는 이 논문에서 제안한 접근성 평가 및 계량 방법이 적용 가능함을 알려준다. This paper proposes methods of evaluating and measuring accessibility of accredited certificate subscriber software which is one of crucial applications to submit personal certifications while web surfing. The presented methodology is to evaluate accessibility by using a certain assessment tool and is to normalize accessibility level into points, so that the software developers who are unfamiliar to screen readers can easily perform accessibility evaluation. The software from the major 78 organizations has went through the assessment. Those of 48 organizations, 62% out of the total, have acquired less than 70 points, implying the software of them is not accessible by the blind. The remaining 18 software got the highest point(88), are partly inaccessible by the blind that uses screen readers. This implies that the proposed methods are applicable to evaluate the accessibility of the software.

We propose the architecture for the bidirectional remote educational system using the APII(Asia-Pacific II) international network. The proposed system was imported function of the VoIP and Web storage with Access Grid System for adopting the various cooperating methods of the remote education, and also implemented the network monitoring functions system using MRTG. Using the proposed methods, we have verified the performance and problems of implemented system through the real-time remote education using bidirectional communication between KOREA and Japan.

Background/Aims: The reported frequency of stress-induced cardiomyopathy (SCMP, Takotsubo cardiomyopathy) is increasing; however, there are no data regarding predictors of in-hospital mortality and the recovery of left ventricular (LV) systolic function in patients with SCMP. Therefore, in this study, we sought to identify clinical predictors of in-hospital mortality and of the recovery of LV dysfunction in Korean patients with SCMP. Methods: From November 2004 to November 2010, 155 patients who fulfilled the clinical diagnostic criteria of the Mayo clinic for SCMP were enrolled retrospectively from eight medical centers in Korea. We checked in-hospital deaths and compared the LVejection fraction (LVEF) and wall-motion score index (WMSI) upon enrollment for each patient with that after 1 week using echocardiograms. A total of 55 continuous variables and 52 nominal variables were analyzed to find variables associated with in-hospital mortality and the recovery of LV dysfunction. All significant variables were entered into a logistic regression analysis. Results: The mean age of the patients was 64±15 years; 118 (76.1%) patients were female. The in-hospital mortality rate was 5.2% (n=8). An elevated initial platelet count was identified as a predictor of in-hospital mortality (odds ratio [95% CI]: 0.99 [0.99-1.00]). There were no predictors of the recovery of LVEF. Predictors of the recovery of WMSI were an absence of arrhythmic events (odds ratio [95% CI]: 22.89 [1.98-265.34]) and an elevated initial LV end-systolic diameter (odds ratio [95% CI]: 0.86 [0.74-1.00]). Conclusions: An initial absence of arrhythmic events and elevated LV end-diastolic pressure in patients with SCMP may be predictors of the timely recovery of LV dysfunction.
