The root of Pseudostellaria heterophylla Pax et Hoffm. (Caryophyllaceae) is a herbal medicine called Taejasam(太子蔘) and used as a good tonic in China that strengthens the functions of the lung and the stomach like Ginseng in Korea. It has been known to have the antitussive activity for tuberculosis, appetizing effect and antifatigue activity, and so on. Especially it has been known to generate body fluids for the severe thirst and the shortage of water in body after a febrile disease for a long time. Recently some components of cyclic peptides, pseudostellarins A,B,C,D,E,F,G, that inhibit the activity of tyrosinase, were separated from this root. In this report several biological activities including acute toxicity, analgesic activity, antifatigue activity, bile juice increasing activity, hepatoprotective activity and antiinflammatory activity were investigated. These results showed as such; $LD_{50}$ of methanol extracts was above 10,000 mg/kg. The analgesic effect was revealed in the writhing test using rats. The BuOH fractions showed a prominent antifatigue effect against immobilized stress, significant hepatoprotective activities against $CCl_4$ intoxication and inhibitory effect on carrageenin-induced edema in rat's paw.
사형주조한 마그네슘합금 주물의 기계적 성질에 미치는 주조조건의 영향에 관한 연구

N/A The effects of casting conditions on the mechanical properties of sand cast magnesium alloy have been investigated by using various fluxes and pouring temperatures. The magnesium alloy castings has been performed : 1) magnesium alloy melt treated with flux 1 or 2 has been poured into the sand mold mixed with flux 3, at 700 or 750℃ and 2) magnesium alloy melt treated with flux 1 or 2 has been superheated at 900℃ for 15 minutes and cooled down to 700 or 750℃, followed by being poured into the sand mold with flux 3. The magnesium alloy castings at 700℃ shows a clean surface compared to that castings at 750℃, and moreover, the use of flux 3 prevented the oxidation and burning of the castings surface. The magnesium alloy castings at 750℃ contains more oxides around the grain boundries and more micro-shrinkage around the primary α-Mg dendrite compared to the magnesium alloy castings at 700℃. Grain boundaries were more fine in case of superheat treatment to 900℃. Also T4-treated magnesium alloy after superheating showed fine secondary dendrite arm spacing. The highest tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and hardness were shown in cast of pouring 700℃ following addition of flux 1 and 3, after superheating to 900℃, and these values were increased when T4 heat treatment was conducted as well.
Tic 처리한 Al 및 아공정 Al-Si 합금의 결정립 미세화에 미치는 첨가원소의 영향

Al-Ti-C grain refiners form a relatively new alternative to the existing class of Al-Ti-B type grain refiners for achieving fine equiaxed structures in aluminum alloys during casting and solidification. The present study was carried out to investigate the influence of Al-Ti-C master alloys on the grain size of high purity aluminum and hypoeutectic Al-Si alloys. It is well known that typical alloying elements affect significantly the grain refining performance in hypoeutectic Al-Si alloys. This study investigates the relationship between grain refining efficiency and concentrations of Fe and Si in aluminum alloys. It has been found that grain reflnement was successful when using small addition of Al-3 wt, %Ti-0.15.wt.%C master alloy(0.006wt. % Ti addition levels) in hypoeutectic Al-Si alloys. Furthermore, several factors such as holding time, alloy composition, pouring and temperature had an influence on the grain refinement performance.
