첨단과학 시대를 살고 있는 사람들의 공통점은 ‘진화론은 과학적 사실이다‘라는 믿음을 갖고 있는 반면에, 하나님이 ’전지전능하신 창조주‘이심을 믿지 않는 불신앙을 가지고 있다는 것이다. 눈에 보이지 않는 ’하나님이 천지만물을 창조하셨다고’ 말하는 것은 종교적이고 신학적인 견해일 뿐, 현대과학에서 주장하는 내용들과 다르기 때문에 과학적으로 사실이 아니며 믿을 수 없다고 한다. 따라서 사람들은 우주와 생명의 기원 문제를 하나님 없이 설명해보려는 시도를 끊임없이 되풀이하고 있다. 그런 노력의 대표적인 결과가 진화론이며, 창조론과 진화론을 혼합한 다양한 타협이론들이다. 타협이론에는 간격이론, 날-시대이론, 점진적 창조론, 구조가설(골격해석), 다중격변론, 진화창조론, 과학적 유신론 등이 있다. 본 글에서는 진화론과 지질시대표, 빅맹우주론의 과학적 문제점이 무엇인지 살펴보고, 근래에 한국 교회와 신학자들과 다음세대 젊은이들에게 많은 영향을 주고 있는 진화창조론, 다중격변론, 과학적 유신론을 중심으로 타협이론의 문제점을 비평하고자 한다.
Inductively Coupled Plasma Etching of Ta, Co, Fe, NiFe, NiFeCo, and MnNi with Cl2/Ar Discharges

Dry etching of the magnetic thin films such as Ta, Fe, Co, NiFe, NiFeCo, and MnNi was carried out ininductively coupled plasmas of Cl2/Ar mixture. All the magnetic materials went through a maximum etch rate at 25%Cl2. The effects of the ICP source power and the rf chuck power on the etch rate and the surface roughness were quitedependent of the materials. An ion-enhanced chemical etch mechanism was important for the magnetic films. The surfaceroughness of the etched samples was relatively constant of the rf chuck power up to 200W, but a rougher surfaceat a higher rf power was obtained. Post-etch cleaning of the etched samples in de-ionized water reduced the chlorineresidues substantially.
Zinc oxide nanostructures and their applications

Zinc oxide (ZnO) has been known as the next most important material for the fabrication of efficient nanodevices and nanosystems because of its versatile properties such as semiconducting, piezoelectric, and pyroelectric multiple properties. In this review, the state-of-the-art technologies related to the synthesis and characterization, the selective growth of ZnO nanostructures, and their applications for nanodevices are discussed. A special concern is focused on the controlled selective growth of ZnO nanostructures on wanted areas of substrates, which is crucial factor for devices applications. The device applications of ZnO nanostructures include field effect transistors (FETs), fieldemission devices, piezoelectric nanogenerators, biosensors, p-n heterjunction diodes such as light-emitting diodes and photovoltaic cells, and so on.

Experiments were carried out to study the adsorption of silver from a cyanide solution on activated carbon. The tests were conducted on a variation of inital silver concentration (Co), carbon amount(W). mixing speed, particle size and adsorption temperature. The experimental data were found to fit Freundlich adsorption isotherm as well as Langmuir adsorption isotherm. It was found that the loading carpacity of the carbon was 20 ㎎ Ag/g carbon. The isosteric heat of adsorption was found to be 1.48 ㎉/g-mole, indicating physical adsorption. The experimental results were finally compared with the theoretical results obtained by the mathematical modeling equation. A correlation equation was also developed to predict the late of apparent adsorption. Good agreements were obtained.
