The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of nose profile with respect to skeletodental pattern, by measured and analyzed statistically the lateral cephalograms of 95 females( 13 to 30 years old ). The results were summerized as follows ; 1. The antero-posterior factors of the nose - nasofrontal angle, nasofacial angle, and dorsal length/ala length ratio were different among the malocclusion groups 2. There were no significant correlation between the vertical nose factors and the skeletal factors 3. The Class Ⅰ groups had a straight nose profile; the Class Ⅱ groups had a convex profile; the Class Ⅲ groups had a concave profile.
사고에 의해 하악골 폭경이 붕괴된 환자에서 견인골 신장술

하악골 정중부 골절은 종종 폭경의 붕괴를 초래한다. 견인골 신장술을 이용한 폭경의 회복은 교합재건에 만족스런 결과를 유도한다. 편측성과 양측성 하악폭경이 붕괴된 환자에서 견인골 신장술을 적용할 때 벡터와 힘의 적용에서 차이를 조인다. 본 연구는 이러한 차이를 교정학적 관점에서 살펴보고자 한다. The symphyseal mandibular fractures due to accidents happened in form of collapsed transverse arch and multiple teeth loss. And the collapsed transverse arch in mandible occurs with unilaterally or bilaterally. So that patient needs to recover arch width. Conventional approaches, however, are difficult to get appropriate transverse arch correction. Distraction osteogenesis is a unique form of clinical tissue engineering and biologic process of new bone formation between bone segments that gradually separately by incremental traction. Distraction osteogenesis is considered that great potential for correcting transverse mandibular deficiencies. In this paper, distraction osteogenesis applied to patients who had a unilateral or bilateral collapsed arch width in mandible. But it was necessary secrutinize consideration about periodontal conditions, biomechanical vectors, TMJ adaptations, and neuromuscular change during distraction osteogenesis period.
BAPN으로 유도된 구개파열 백서의 osteonectin발현 양상에 대한 연구

이 연구는 정상구개백서와 비교하여 구개 파열 백서에서 osteonectin 발현 양상에 대한 관찰하기 위해 시도되었다. 임신 9일째 백서 4마리를 구입하여 1마리의 대조군과 3마리의 실험군으로 구분한후, beta-aminoproprionitrale를 임신 13일째 1g/kg 체중 비율로 실험군에 투여하였다. 그 후 임신 20일째 백서를 모두 희생하여 대조군에서는 12마리, 실험군에서는 33마리의 백서 태자를 얻어 그 중 실험군에서 총 6마리의 구개파열 백서태자를 얻었다. 구개파열 백서태자 6마리를 각 3마리씩 면역조직화학염색과 Western blot검사를 위해 나누고, 대조군의 구개와 구개파열군의 구개에서 osteonectin 발현양상은 다음과 같은 결과를 보였다. 1.구개파열 백서의 간염조직에서 osteonectin 발현 양상은 대조군에 비해 현저히 낮은 형태를 보였다. 2.구개파열 백서의 골아세포와 골세포에서 osteonectin 발현 양상은 대조군에 비해 낮은 형태를 보였다. 3.구개파열 백서의 비강 상피에서 osteonectin 발현 양상은 구개 상피의 발현양상과 차이가 없었다. 4.Western blot분석에서 구개 파열 백서의 osteonectin 밴드 굵기와 두께는 정상군에 비해 얇고 희미하였다. The purpose of this study was to investigate osteonectin expression patterns in cleft palate compare to normal palate rats. We used 4 pregnant rats, and beta-aminoproprionitrile was oral dose to rat according to 1g/kg body weight at gestation days 13 to induce cleft palate. Total 6 fetus was got with cleft formed, then 3 fetus was used for immunohistostain and 3 fetus was used for western blot analysis. Expression pattems of osteonectin in mesenchymal cells of cleft palate was more dilute to mesenchymal cells of normal palate with immnunohistostain, and width and length of band of maxilla in cleft palate was more thin than maxilla of normal palate with western blot study.

Cleft palate is one of the most serious congenital anomalies in human that causes a sucking problem in newborn babies and morphologic deformity that usually leads to death in newborn mouse offspring due to an insufficient ability to suck milk. Therefore cleft palate had been researched with epidemiologic and molecular methods, and many etiologic factors were examined closely. Among of the research methods, biologic molecule researches have been more important method for cleft palate formation study. The TGF-β had an important role in the cell migration, epithelial- mesenchymal transdifferentiation, extracellular matrix synthesis and deposition. But there was a little research which was study about correlation cleft palate induced by beta-aminonitroproprionitrile (BAPN) with TGF-β expression. A purpose of this presented study was examed how TGF-β expression in cleft palate mice. At gestation days 13, BAPN-monofumarate salts((C3H6N2)2 · C4H4O4, Sigma Co.) was single oral administered to 4 pregnant rats according to 1g/kg body weight. And pregnant rats were sacrificed on day 20 post coitus(p.c.), The TGF-β expression patterns of cleft formed fetus mice was followed that; 1.Osteoblast, mesenchymal cell and epithelial cell of cleft mice were low expression compare to control mice. 2.There was no TGF-β difference expression pattern of osteocyte of cleft mice compare to control mice. 3.In western blot analysis, thickness of band of TGF-β in cleft mice was thin and dilute compare to control mice

Long-term posttreatment stability is great concern to all orthodontist. So, this article was disussed that etiology of relapse, classificatioan of retention, duration of retention and treat after relapse. The most important thing about stability was considered that growth pattern, periodontal remodeling, neuromuscular factors and applied the appropriate mechanotherapy. Retenton was considered during the treatment planning and required considerable analytic thought.
