Weinvestigatedthedistributionofhazardousheavymetals(As,Cr<sup>6+</sup>,Ni,Cd,Pb,andMn)andestimatedthehealthriskrelatedtotheheavymetalsinfinedust(PM-10andPM-2.5)ofSasangindustrialcomplex,Busan,Korea.Theconcentrationoffinedustintheindustrialcomplexwas1.2timeshigherthaninaresidentialarea,whileharmfulheavymetalsshowedadifferenceofatleast1.3times(Cd)andupto6.5times(Ni).Theconcentrationoffinedustandcarcinogenicheavymetalsintheindustrialcomplexincreasedsignificantlycomparedtotheresidentialareainspring(MarchtoMay)andwinter(DecembertoFebruary)months.AriskassessmentwasperformedusingMonte-Carlosimulationscontainingafour-stepprocedure.Duringhazardidentification,As,Cr<sup>6+</sup>Ni,Cd,andPbwerecategorizedashumancarcinogensandprobablehumancarcinogensandevaluatedfortheirlevelsofexcesscancerrisk.Forconcentrationsofover90%Cr<sup>6+</sup>andAs,theexcesscancerriskwasover10<sup>-5</sup>(1personper100,000).Thenon-cancerhazardindexofAs,Cr<sup>6+</sup>,Cd,andMnwasbelowthelimitvalueof1.
해녀콩 ( Canavalia lineata ) 의 뿌리혹 발달 단계에 따른 뿌리혹 특이 단백질의 변화 양상

Total soluble proteins from three developmental stages of induced root nodules of Canavalia lineata were compared with those of non-nodulated roots by SDS-PAGE and two dimensional (2-D) gel electrophoresis. Thirteen nodule-specific protein (nodulin) bands were identified by the former and 30 nodule specific protein spots were detected by the latter method respectively. Some of the nodulins were detected differentially depending on the nodule`s developmental stages. For example, only three leghemoglobin (Lb)-like protein spots appeared at stage Ⅰ (d<2 ㎜), but two additional Lb-like protein spots appeared at stage Ⅱ (d<4-5 ㎜). pI value and molecular weight of nomomers of Lb-like protein were narrower and greater than those of soybean, ranging from 4.4 to 5.0 and 15.7 kd respectively. Northern blot hybridization of total RNAs from roots and root nodules using soybean Lb cDNA as a probe made it clear that Lb gene was expressed tissue-specifically only in the root nodules.
부산지역 설사환자에서 분리한 MRSA 균주의 다양성 분석

부산 지역 5개 2차 종합병원 설사환자 변에서 유래한 메치실린 내성 황색포도상구균(MRSA)에 대한 연구 결과, 분리된 황색포도상구균 142주 중 총 49주(34.5%)가 MRSA인 것으로 확인되었으며, 황색포도상구균 중 MRSA 분리율이 '04, '05, '06년에 걸쳐 각각 30.0%, 32.7%, 46.7%인 것으로 나타나, 지속적으로 증가하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. MRSA 균주의 항균제 내성 양상은 75.5%가 10종 이상의 항균제에 내성을 나타내었으며, 특히 11종 항균제에 대한 다제 내성균이 가장 많은 것으로 확인되었다. MRSA주의 장독소 유전자 시험을 실시한 결과 51%가 장독소 유전자를 가지고 있지 않았고, 30.6%가 독소유전자 A를 가지고 있었으며 그 밖에 C (8.3%), B (4.1%) 순이었다. MRSA 총 49주에 대해 PFGE를 수행하여 dendrogram을 작성한 결과, 크게 7개의 그룹으로 구분되었으며, 부산지역전체에 뚜렷하게 동일한 균주의 유행은 확인 할 수 없었으나, 종합병원 내에 소규모의 MRSA 유행은 있을 것으로 사료 되었다. We investigated the molecular epidemiological characteristic of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains isolated from stool samples in Busan from 2004 to 2006. Among 142 isolates of S. aureus, 49 isolates (34.5%) were confirmed as MRSA. With the antimicrobial susceptibility tests, 37 isolates (75.5%) showed multiple resistance to more than 10 antibiotics, but all isolates were sensitive to vancomycin. All of MRSA had enterotoxin A in 30.6%, B 4.1%, C 8.3%, D, C/G, A 2.0% and None 51%. PFGE of SmaⅠ-digested chromosomal DNA was performed on 49 sporadic MRSA isolates. Restriction fragment patterns consisted of 8 to 14 fragments ranged in size from 48.5 to 630.5 kbp. We could divided the isolates into 7 groups (Ⅰ~Ⅶ) by analyzing PFGE patterns. Group I subdivided as 2 subgroups and 17 (34.7%) strains belong to the group Ⅰ. Dendrogram of PFGE patterns showed that MRSA strains in Busan were heterogeneous but we could find out minor homogeneity in hospital.
설사환자에서 Campylobacter jejuni의 분리 및 항생제 감수성 특성

2005년 1월부터 2006년 10월까지 설사환자의 분변 882건에서 27주의 C. jejuni가 분리되어 3.1%의 분리율을 보였으며, 계절별로는 7월에 가장 높은 9주(11.7%)가 분리되었으며, 분리균주 모두는 catalase 양성, hippuric acid를 가수분해하였다. heat-stable antigen을 이용한 PHA법으로 확인한 혈청형은 HS2형이 18.5%로 가장 많이 분리되었으며 Hs1/44형과 HS2l형 이 각각 11.1%, HS4 complex와 HSl9형 이 각각 7.4%,그리고 HSl8형이 3.7%였으며, 40.7%인 11주는 본 실험방법으로 혈청형을 확인할 수 없었다. 항생제에 대한 내성정도는 cephalothin에는 100%의 내성률을 erythromycin과 imipenem에는 0%의 내성률을 나타내어 분리균주 모두 감수성이었다. 항생제별로는 trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole 63.0%, tetracycline 51.9%, ciprofloxacin 37.0%, ampicillin과 nalidixic acid 33.3%, gentamycin 25.9%, clindamycin 7.4%, chlorarmphenicol 3.7%의 순으로 내성률을 보였다. ln this study we isolated 27 isolates of Campylobacter jejuni from stool samples of 882 diarrheal patients. The seasonal distribution of patients was highest at July (11.7%). All the isolates of C. jejuni hydrolyzing sodium hippurate were serotyped on basis of heat-stable antigens, and identified with the use of passive hemagglutination assay. A total of 59.3% among 27 C. jejuni isolates were identified into 6 different serotypes, which serotype HS2, HSl/44, and HS2l were dominant. Antibiotics resistant rates of C. jejuni isolates were shown to be 100%, 63.0%, 51.9%, 37.0%, 33.3%, 25.9% and 7.4% to cephalothin, trimethoprim- sulfamethoxazole, tetracycline, ciprofloxacin, ampicillin, gentamycin and clindamycin, respectively. All isolates were sensitive to the erythromycin and imipenem.
