A progress has been made into the influence of the joint behavior of an automotive body on the elastic response of the body structure. The joint stiffness, which is called the moment, acting on the joint divided by the variables at the intersecting angle, is one of the key factors dominating the response of the automotive body. It is reduced to a value that exerts a influence on the body structure system because of such factors as service holes, spot welds and the complex forms of members. This report is a study about joint stiffness and strain energy density distribution of automotive a pillar joint using FE modeling technique to predict to torsional stiffness, bending stiffness, strength and vibration characteristic of the automotive body. And also the strength study of the header flange is presented. It is believed that joint design approach would provide designers with a tool in the design of joint structures and provide information to engineers regarding the structural regions at which high quality joints were required.
과급 디젤 엔진의 열응력 해석에 대한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션

Recently, high power and high efficiency are required in internal combustion engine. Therefore thermal loading and thermal loading and thermal stress are increased in the components of engine. This study is a thermal stress anlaysis using finite element method to address the issue of designing a low heat loss cylinder to withstand high cycle thermal fatigue. The diesel engine thermodynamic cycle simulation which uses a single zone in combustion chamber to find the heat transfer coefficient and ambient temperature was developed. The CAD data was transferred to model the componets of engine. CAD/CAE technique of engine data, diesel engine cycle simulation, and finite element analysis are unison to access the diesel engine development stage.
