        현대 메이크업에 표현된 추(醜) 이미지에 관한 연구

        Since around 1990, some experimental and shocking ugliness images have been expressed in Fashion and Make-up as well as Fine arts. The purpose of this study is to investigate the trends of ugliness images expressed in Modern Make-up from 1995 to 2003, especially focusing on color, and to enlarge the expressions through formative elements and to anticipate the prospect of Make-up in the future. Ugliness is the most negative aesthetic value which is lack of beauty. The 20 century art trends representing the ugly shape have been distorted or deformed or destroyed and extremely exaggerated with yellow, red, black, blue, white, green. The image and color of ugliness can be summarized as historical, avant-garde, decadence, de-constructive, humorous, futuristic trend and Most of colors are the achromatic ones like black, white, dark gray and red, blue, dark brown and so on. These colors cause some negative attributes such as fear, anger, death, devil, pain, bad, ill omen, sorrow, despair and the like. At the turning point in 21C are to be extended the range of color according to the experimental attempts such as informal, collage, graphic and the forth. Lastly. The characteristics of ugliness images expressed in the color of Modern Make-up have been analyzed into formlessness and inaccuracy and deformation by Karl Rosenkranz`s theory.

        Balhae was an ancient Korean kingdom that existed almost 1,300 years ago. It was a dynamic time in the Korean history when the national strength was building up in terms of politics, economy and culture, thereby called as "Haedongseongguk, the powerhouse in the East". Balhae had dominated parts of Manchuria and the northern part of the Korean peninsula between the late 7th century and the 10th century, occupying the center stage of the northern Korean history. It serves as a window to the East Asia in the present as well as in the past. Yet, due to its geography spanning from the North Korea to Kilin Province of China to part of Heilongjiang Province and to the Littoral Province of Siberia, Balhae has been the center of historical disputes among neighboring countries that insist it is part of each of their own history. China argues that it was a prefecture of the Tang Dynasty, established by the Mohe, not a successor to Goguryeo, which is a China-oriented viewpoint of history. In addition, Russia recognizes Balhae as their first-ever medieval feudal state since the Littoral Province is now under their sovereignty. Therefore, the restoration of Balhae history is in line with the veritable establishment of the ancient Korean history. For this, it is necessary to embrace inter-disciplinary achievements and to continue efforts to adopt them rather than to blame the shortage of historical documents and the difficulty of the excavation of relics. If fashion is "a visual symbol" of our society, beauty culture serve as a mirror to reflect our civilization and culture directly or indirectly. Still, it is not easy to draw similarities by analyzing and comparing the attributes of various cultures and civilizations party because the essence of culture lies in diversity. Nevertheless, it is believed that cultural liaison as well as geographical liaison can be a medium to compensate for the limits of the foreign exchange history of Southeast Asia in proving the relationship between Goguryeo and Balhae, by examining and speculating beauty culture that reflect their period. It was confirmed by various documents regarding Goguryeo out of relics, historical sites and documents. Mural paintings showed how the people of Balhae wore and accessorized themselves. They also allowed us to speculate their way of living. As the contemporary historians can assert that Balhae is part of the Korean history thanks to the realism scholars in the late Joseon Dynasty, who rediscovered the Balhae history and conducted practical researches, it is expected that researchers who study beauty culture contribute to completing the restoration of the Balhae history by thoroughly examining our history, costume and beauty culture.

      • 현대 패션에 나타난 동양적 특성에 관한 연구

        A midst the tendency in an attempt to rehabilitate the coexistence of values in Oriental and Western cultures, along with centripetal attention through reincarnation of the Oriental culture, the modern fashion trend is also inclusive of such Oriental flavors even in the opposite Western fashion icons with an outlook for futuristic alternative. In this regard the study is to investigate the Oriental Characteristics shown in the contemporary fashion in a more profound and right manner by evaluating its spirituality and formativeness through analytical survey on preliminary literatures, whose key words are as follows; Fist, heterogeneity inclusive of the Oriental comprehensiveness through non-periodic chaos; second, imperfection in pursue of prefection through non-perfection; third, asymmetry caused by polarized historicity together with agility in the Oriental costumes; fourth, simplicity bridging into religious naught, and; fifth, spatial comfortablity shrouded by loose design. As a result, the study demonstrates that Oriental sensitivity implicative at the modern fashion, prior to its formativeness, shed out a clue of the Oriental profound spirits in its fashion style.

      • 전통정신사상과 복식색의 치료효과와의 연관성

        As the traditional spiritual idea, Um-yang oh-hang is the fundamental belief which was developed in China and have played an important roll in the other areas such as understanding of the universe and system of consideration. And focusing on Yurk, people lately began take a look the traditional spiritual idea differently in terms of the guidance which may be able to lead the future of the present science and technology. When it comes to the clinical medicine treatment and the color therapy, we can easily find that it is already a common phenomenon to connect Yurk with other fields. The specific purposes of this study are as follows. 1. Taking Yurk's stands on objective subject, not ideological or horoscope science, this study is about to explain the meaning of Yurk through checking out its color such as Blue, Red, Yellow, White, Black. 2. This study review and organize Um-yang oh-hang and further more the roles of colors which are implied in Yurk and can be found in traditional clothes. And the main results of this study are as follows. 1. The plants which are using as five dye-stuff have some medical efficacies for internal organs. 2. Many similar mutual relations were found in between the five colors in Um-yang oh-hang and colors which is used for the color therapy in medical treatment in western as to the classification of colors for its effect on human organs. 3. It turns out the fortune colors in Yurk was the five colors which strengthen and vitalize Oh-hang. As a result, through this whole study, a medical treatment using the fortune colors and the unfortune colors in the traditional spiritual idea turned out it is not anything which is nonsense or shamanism, rather it is an actually reasonable and effective method in terms of its medical efficiency.
