최근 이동통신 기술의 발전으로 실내에서의 위치 획득 기술이 용이해지면서 실내 내비게이션 시스템에 대한 연구가 각광을 받고 있다. 최적화된 실내 내비게이션은 크고 복잡한 실내에서의 활동을 위해 빠른 경로를 제공한다. 그러나 기존의 실내 내비게이션 알고리즘 연구들에서는 공간 토폴로지 또는 실내 네트워크에 기반하여 대략적인 경로를 도출한다. 본 논문에서는 공간 토폴로지 분석과 실내 내트워크를 통합 분석하여 실내 경로를 계산하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안 알고리즘은 전문적인 실내지도가 아닌 간소화된 실내 지도 데이터를 활용하여 실내 네트워크와 공간 토폴로지의 혼합 분석을 통해 실내 경로의 길이를 줄일 수 있다. 성능평가를 통해 FT-Indoornavi 알고리즘이 기존의 엘라스틱 알고리즘과 iNav 알고리즘보다 더 빨리 실내 경로를 계산할 수 있음을 보여준다. Neural stem cells (NSCs) are the most primordial and least committed cells of the nervous system, the cells that exist before regional/functional specification develops. NSCs have the following functional properties: (1) multipotency, (2) the ability to populate a developing region and/or repopulate an ablated or degenerated region of the nervous system with appropriate cell types, (3) the ability to be serially transplanted, and (4) Self-renewal. Recent experiments have shown that NSCs can be transplanted in many neurological disorder models (ischemia, hemorrhage, epilepsy, Parkinsonism, brain tumor, Huntington`s disease, multiple sclerosis, peripheral neuropathy, spinal cord injury, and motor neuron diseases) and can ameliorate the pathogenic insult. This review focuses on the transplantation efficacy in stroke, and optimization strategy for achieving better outcome, considering the pathogenesis of specific diseases.

Neurological disorders induced by long-term exposure to organic solvents typically have a slowly progressive clinical course, which may be arrested or even reversed following discontinuation of exposure. We report an unusual case of rapidly progressive toxic leukoencephalomyelopathy in a 29-year-old man who had worked at a chemical factory that used toluene for the manufacture of nylon 66 for 5 years. He presented with progressive weakness of legs, recurrent seizures, and cognitive decline. Widespread white-matter changes in the brain and spinal cord, and myelodysplastic syndrome were noted. He died 6 months after the onset of his symptoms, and autopsy showed discrete multifocal demyelination and necrosis in the central nervous system, and dysplastic cells of erythroid, myeloid, and megakaryotic lineages in blood vessels. The co-occurrence of leukoencephalomyelopathy and myelodysplastic syndrome highlights the vulnerability of the white matter and bone marrow to injury from organic solvents. Intravascular congestion of dysplastic hematopoietic cells might have led to his unusually rapid progression of leukoencephalomyelopathy.
Anti-LGI1 Limbic Encephalitis Presented with Atypical Manifestations

Anti-leucine-rich glioma inactivated-1 (LGI1) limbic encephalitis (LE) is a rare neurological disorder that has a subacute course ofprogressive encephalopathy and fasciobrachial dystonic seizures. We report a patient with anti-LGI1 LE that presented with atypicalmanifestations that complicated the diagnosis. A 62-year-old woman presented with a chronic course of memory disturbanceand a subsequent relapse with an altered mental status after 10 months. The patient reported frequent chest pain of squeezing anddull nature, typically lasting 10–30 seconds. The chest pain was related to partial seizures, which were confirmed by video-EEGmonitoring. Anti-LGI1 antibody was identified in serum and CSF. The patient’s symptoms improved by immune modulationtreatment. Patients with anti-LGI1 LE can experience atypical partial seizures, and a chronic relapsing course. Clinical suspicions andvideo-EEG monitoring are helpful for the early diagnosis and effective immune modulation.
알츠하이머병 환자의 말초혈액 내 CD34 양성세포 수치의 변화

Background: Circulating CD34-positive cells constitute the endothelial progenitor cell population,differentiate into endothelial cells, and contribute to mammalian brain regeneration. Given the vascular endothelial pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), we investigated the levels of CD34+ cells in AD patients. Methods: Sixty-six consecutive patients with probable AD (clinical dementia rating scale 1) and 22 age-matched control subjects were enrolled. CD34+cells were counted in their peripheral blood samples and analyzed in comparison with their clinical characteristics. Results: The AD patients had significantly lower numbers of CD34-positive cells than control subjects. However, the number of CD34-positive cells was not correlated with clinical characteristics of AD patients, including Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE)score, Framingham risk score, body-mass index, and changes in MMSE during 3 months. Conclusions: AD patients have diminished circulating CD34-positive cells, suggesting the reduced regenerative support from the peripheral blood in AD patients.
