It seems that Korean classical literature needs an independent research rather than applying Western feminism theory to that. In addition, Women need to be evaluated with an independent viewpoint on women growing out of man-centric one. A reason that the researcher selected 「Samgukyusa」 as the text of this study is because, even though it was compiled by a man, it has shown various aspects of life of women who had lived in the period of the Three Kingdoms. First of all, before going into a research of this work, the researcher would like to look over view of womanhood of Ilyeon, the writer of 「Samgukyusa」. It contains many various aspects of life of women who leaded free life, not being restricted by Confucianism. Apart from cases of leading conventional life as a woman, this study would be made centering around women who leaded a bit drastic life: politically conscious women: free love ones; open sex conscious ones. As a result, 「Sarngukyusa」 shows that there were women who leaded various aspects of life at that time in the period of the Three Kingdom.

"내 복에 산다" 와 "복진 며느리"의 여성의식 변모양상

As shown in the thesis, there were women who pursed the women's image that a patriarchal society hoped, while I saw also the image of women in which women sticked to their opinions against men in the private discourses of “One lives in being in my luck” and “Blessed daughter-in-law”. It showed the life of refracted women with the application of a confucian ideas to women's life under the patriarchal system. If such images were the traditional women's images as a virtuous woman image of leading a chaste life, a faithful daughter-in-law one, a mother one of sacrificing for their children and a women one of womanly wisdom and virtue, this would be the work showing that there was the women's image of dignified and reliable disposition in the patriarchal order, which would mean that there were also women who carried stately through their intention and faith in life of women refracted by men.(Daegu University)

The 「Hongkyewoˇl-jeon」is the novel of female hero. It is a work that puts emphasis on the identity and superiority of woman than the early women's novel and it has a characteristic that woman takes her major place. Hongkyewoˇl is a woman not who lives a common woman life but who disguises herself as a man and lives her life. A sexual conflict between man and woman is well represented by the thoughts and behaviors of both Kyewoˇl and Bo-guk. Bo-guk obeys kyewoˇl's order without discontent when kyewoˇl behaviors in disguise of a man. But after she is identified as a woman, he tries to gain an advantage over kyewoˇl only because he is her husband. By saving Bo-guk who faces a crisis, a conflict between man and woman at home is settled at last. Hongkyewoˇl-jeon is criticized negatively in terms of following the structure and form of the heroic novel. But it represents a new feminine image by recognizing a woman ability and reflecting the necessity of social and political activity. But it has a limit that this work used an equipment, male disguise and showed that she returned home after acting a heroic deed.
