        Treatment of osteonecrosis of the femoral head by botulinum toxin type A injection to the psoas muscle -A case report-

        Osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) can cause femoral head depression and cortical discontinuity. Treatment for ONFH remains challenging. We performed botulinum toxin type A injection to psoas major muscle in five patients with radiological femoral head collapse (Association Research Circulation Osseus classification stage III) who were non-responsive after two years of conservative treatment (tramadol 200 mg/day, mefenamic acid 1,000 mg/day). At two weeks after the procedure, their mean hip pain was decreased from 88 ± 0.4/100 mm to 22 ± 0.4/100 mm based on visual analogue scale (VAS). The pain was maintained at a minimum of 20/100 mm and a maximum of 30/100 mm in VAS for at least six weeks after the procedure. These values were mean ± SD. These patients were followed-up for 6 months. There was no exacerbation of pain from repeated (three times) botulinum toxin type A injection to the psoas major muscle.

        우리나라 중소하천 코리도의 자연성 평가기법 연구

        The main purpose of this study was to develop a new method for evaluation of stream naturalness in order to appraise and prescribe for streams effectively in the process of ecological restoration of stream corridors. The results are as follows : 1) For this purpose six factors were selected on considering the spatial axes of stream corridor variation and total 20 descriptors about the physical structure were selected. 2) The calculation of S.N.I. for each segment was consisted of three steps, such as calculation of S.N.I.s of the individual descriptors, averaging all the descriptors's for each factor, and finally averaging the factors's for the Total S.N.I. 3) The evaluation unit was decided to be 100m size. The score system ranging 1~5 was adopted. Weighting parameters of factors were unified with each other. 4) A GIS model was adopted for classification, calculation, querying, analysing, and presenting S.N.I. information. And the format of S.N.I. maps including statistical graphs and other spatial watershed information was designed for the GIS odel. The naturalness of stream corridor was was investigated by the naturalness of habitat, and assessed by the descriptors focused on physical structure, therefore the S.N.I. can manifest prescriptions for restoration of the stream corridor. On the other hand because some evaluation factors such as water quality, water volume, fauna, flora, functions of stream exosystem has been excluded, S.N.I. could have some limits on representing the full aspects of stream naturalness. This evaluation method is hypothetical one, so it would be investigated through iterative applicatons.

        우리나라 보호지역 관리 실태와 개선방안

        본 연구의 목적은 우리나라의 보호지역에서 관리개선방안을 마련하는 것이다. 이를 위해 보호지역의 현장조사와 설문조사를 통해 문제점을 파악하였고, 통합관리를 위한 관리개선방안을 도출하였으며, 이에 따른 관리계획지침과 사후평가지침을 마련하였다. 본 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 현재의 우리나라의 보호지역은 지정 후 제대로 관리가 이루어지지 않고 있기 때문에 보호지역에 대한 관리계획 이 필요하다. 둘째, 관리계획 수립 시 관리기관은 관련 이행당사자와의 원활한 협의를 통한 자발적인 참여를 이끌어낼 수 있는 관리계획을 수립해야 한다. 셋째, 관리계획을 지속적이고 체계적으로 지속시키기 위해서는 관련 정책 및 법 제도를 정비해야 한다. 넷째, 보호지역의 중복지정 및 관리의 다원화에 따른 관리의 비효율성을 감안하여 통합관리전담기구를 신설해야 한다. 다섯째, 효과적 통합관리를 위해 관리계획지침과 사후평가지침이 절실히 필요하다. 본 연구 결과는 우리나라 보호지역의 문제점을 해결하기 위한 관리개선에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다. 향후 관리계획과 사후평가 부분의 지침에 대한 검증과 국가 차원에서 관련 법 제정, 정책 등의 체계적이고 지속적인 지원이 수반되어야 할 것이다. This research intends to suggest the ways to improve protected area management in Korea. To this end, the current protected areas appointed in the nation and their management has been examined, and the problems of management have been identified by means of a field research of protected areas and a survey. In addition, a scheme for an integrated management system has been suggested for management improvement, and a management plan guide, as well as after-evaluation guide, has been suggested. The outcome of the research is as follows. First, the protected area management plan is needed since the protected area in our nation is not managed in a proper way after being appointed as such. Second, when making a management plan, a management organization should make a management plan that can attract voluntary participation from stake-holders by means of efficient communications with them. Third, to maintain the management plan in a consistent and systematic way, related policy, law, and institutions should be (re)formulated. Fourth, an organization responsible only for management of protected areas should be established in consideration of management inefficiency due to the overlapped appointment of managing the protected area. Fifth, the management plan guide and after-evaluation guide can be used for effective protected area management. The results of this study are expected to be helpful for creating a management improvement scheme to address the problems related to the protected areas in our nation. But, it is required to review the guides for the management plan and after-evaluation, and consistent and systemic support from the government in such areas as legislation and policy are also in great need.

        Security Analysis of Ship Management Applications for Android

        The modern maritime industry is characterized by networked smart ships that incorporate 9 information and communications technology (ICT) for steering, navigation, control, sensor, and 10 operational systems. Smart ships are potential targets for cyber attacks for their network 11 connectivity and ICT application. In this study, we systematically deduced and analyzed the 12 security vulnerabilities of 30 Android-based applications used in the ocean and ships. We extracted 13 the Android application package file and used mobile security framework static analysis to analyze 14 the application’s permission information, privacy, certificates, manifest package files, code 15 vulnerabilities in the file, and password disclosures. The analysis revealed that security 16 vulnerabilities in Android-based applications applied in shipboard equipment could allow remote 17 hackers to gain control of ship engines and communication systems. Additionally, it evaluates the 18 security level of Android applications following the International Maritime Organization and 19 International Association of Classification Societies UR E27 regulations for ship cybersecurity and 20 emphasizes the need for cyber threat mitigation measures for Android ship applications, which 21 have not been studied so far. This study aims to identify potential cybersecurity threats when using the Android operating system on merchant ships, warships, unmanned vessels, and autonomous ships. The findings will inform efforts to implement enhanced cybersecurity systems for ships.

        가축에 대한 3차원 형상 획득을 위한 측정시스템 개발

        Smart farms are being actively developed to manage the growth of livestock. The quality of livestock is generally evaluated based on their body form and weight. Livestock of various sizes and appearances exist. Even within the same species, the appearance varies depending on the growth and pregnancy status. Live animals keep moving, and thus it is difficult to measure every single body part of them accurately. In this study, we propose a measurement system that can acquire the 3D shape of a moving livestock. A TOF (time of flight) camera is used to quickly measure the moving state, and multiple cameras are used to acquire the overall shape. A calibration work is required when using multiple cameras, and it is config- ured to be automatically calibrated using sphere targets. The accuracy and precision of the measurement system has been verified, and it is applied to pigs to obtain three-dimensional point cloud data.
