        국내 재배포장에서 수집한 뿌리혹병균(Plasmodiophora brassicae) 균주들에 대한 배추 품종들의 저항성 반응

        Clubroot disease caused by Plasmodiophora brassicae, induces damage to cruciferous vegetables worldwide. For control of the disease, many CR (clubroot resistant) F<SUB>1</SUB> hybrid cultivars of Chinese cabbage have been bred and released in Korea. In this study, we determined the race of 10 field isolates of P. brassicae collected from ten regions in Korea using Williams differential varieties and investigated the degree of resistance of 25 commercial CR cultivars of Chinese cabbage to the isolates. The clubroot pathogens were assigned into two (HS and YC), two (HN1 and HN2), two (DJ and SS) and four (GS, GN, JS, and PC) isolates for race 2, race 4, race 5, race 9, respectively. All CR cultivars showed similar response, resistant or susceptible, to each isolate and the P. brassicae isolates were divided into two groups. Among them, the DJ, GS, GN, HS, and JS isolates could not infect the CR cultivars. In contrast, the SS, HN1, HN2, PC, and YC isolates caused severe clubroot disease on the CR cultivars li ke susceptible cultivars. Even though they belong to the same race, the CR cultivars showed a different response to the pathogens. The results suggest that the breakdown of CR in Chinese cabbage has already occurred in cultivation areas of Korea and resistance source introduced in CR cultivars may be very limited. In addition, it is likely that resistance genes of Williamsdifferential varieties to P. brassicae are different from the gene of CR cultivars of Chinese cabbage used in the study.

        Phytophthora capsici 균주들에 대한 고추 품종들의 저항성

        Resistance of one hundred commercialized cultivars of chili pepper to four isolates of Phytophthora capsici was evaluated under controlled environmental conditions. The cultivars are commercialized as resistant (59%) and susceptible (41%) to Phytophthora blight in Korea. Mean disease severities of the cultivars on P. capsici MY-1, KPC-1, JHAI1-7, and KPC-7 isolates were 37, 55, 60, and 74%, respectively. In addition, 38 for MY-1, 48 for KPC-1, 56 for JHAI1-7, and 76 cultivars for KPC-7 showed susceptibility. To P. capsici MY-1, the weakest pathogenicity isolate among them, 59 cultivars represented high resistance. By contrast, only six cultivars showed high resistance to P. capsici KPC-7, the strongest isolate. Furthermore, resistance of most cultivars except for three cultivars was negatively correlated with the virulence of P. capsici isolates. And isolate-specific resistance of the chili pepper cultivars could not be found. Among them, six cultivars showing resistance to all the tested isolates were selected for further study. The development of Phytophthora blight on the six cultivars according to inoculum density (5 × 10<sup>4</sup> to 1 .5 × 1 0<sup>6</sup> sporangia/pot) and incubation temperature (25 to 30°C) after inoculation of P. capsici was tested. Resistance of the cultivars to P. capsici KPC-1 and JHAI1-7, moderately pathogenic isolates, was hardly affected. But to KPC-7 isolate, the highly resistant cultivars showed susceptiblility or moderate resistance when the seedlings were inoculated with inoculum density o f 1 .5 × 1 0<sup>6</sup> sporangia/pot and incubated at 28 to 30°C. From these results, it is likely that resistance of chili pepper cultivars to Phytophthora blight is affected by the virulence of P. capsici isolate.

        추나로 발생된 통증으로 오인된 만성 기침에 의해 유발된 늑골골절 1례

        Objectives: The purpose of this study is to discriminate the cough-induced rib fracture with chest pain occurred after chuna therapy. Methods: A 68-year-old female patient who is suffering from left chest wall pain with chronic cough was treated by Korean medical treatment and chuna therapy from November 11th 2014 to November 15th 2014. The improvement of the patient's pain was measured by 100 mm Visual Analog Scale (VAS). For diagnosis the rib fracture, we conducted the radiography, computed tomography (CT), and bone scan. Results: After treatment, pain intensity was decreased and the rib fracture was negative in radiography and CT. But, in bone scan, the 5th-8th rib fractures in left side were detected. Conclusions: When the patient with chest pain visit the hospital after chuna therapy, a doctor keep in mind the possibility of coughinduced rib fracture.
