The ignition characteristics of repetitive electric sparks into a quiescent acetylene-air premixture and LPG-argon-air premixture was investigated by using a home-made RepetitiveSpark-Generator(RSG) to elucidate the effect of fuel burning velocity to ignition ability of RSG.<br/> Results show that the optimum spark delay time interval is strongly related with fuel buming velocity, or implicitly with characteristic reaction time scale of each fuel.

Propane-Air Premixed combustible gas was lgnited. by the conventional current break syst-em lnside the open combustion chamber under the atomospheric preesure and the room temp-erature to measure the flame propagating speed and the burning speed, also to elucidate the history of the propagating flame behavior and wall effects to flame shape by using Ion Gap Method. and High Speed Schlieren Photography.<br/> The results obtained show that the maximum flame propagating speed and maximum burning speed are approximately 292cm/sec and 36cm/sec at the mixture ratio 4.6%, respectively.The cellular flame structures can be observable in the rich mixture region, moreover, the cellular structures become finer, with increasing the mixture strength.
