        이공계 유학생을 위한 과학기술문 쓰기 교육 방안

        This paper aims to present a teaching proposal of scientific and technical writing for future students majoring in science and engineering in universities. Academic purpose Korean has been newly centered in the field of Korean language education, since students from abroad have sharply increased within the past ten years. Many researches have been done and many textbooks have been developed for academic purpose Korean language learners. However, only a few researches were conducted and no Korean language textbooks have been published for Korean language learners majoring in science and engineering. In the field of academic purpose Korean language education, “writing” is mostly needed, but learners find it most difficult. Therefore, in this paper, a teaching plan is proposed for how to write scientific and technical paper, focusing on experiment report. As for this, output-oriented writing approach and content-based instruction are adopted. This is because scientific and technical writings have special frames and forms to be taught, and it is necessary to narrow the gap between the learning content given in Korean language courses and in lessons of ones’s major field of study for future science and engineering students.

        레드 비트의 첨가가 냉장저장 중 저지방 소시지의 품질과 발색 안정성에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 아질산염을 저감화 한 저지방 소시지를 개발하기 위해, 아질산염과 균질한 레드 비트의 첨가량을 달리하여 저지방 소시지(자비, 훈연)를 제조하였고, 품질특성과 냉장 저장 중 pH와 색도를 평가하였다. 레드 비트 첨가는 저지방 소시지의 품질에 유의적인 영향을 주지 않은 반면 레드 비트 1% 첨가가 저지방 자비 소시지의 적색도를 증진시키는 데 효과적이며, 특히 아질산염 저감화 조건에서 레드 비트의 첨가는 적색도 증진에 매우 효과적임을 알 수 있었다. 또한 아질산염 75 ppm 첨가구는 레드 비트의 첨가에 상관없이 대조구이상의 적색도를 보였으나, 레드 비트 함량이 1% 이상일 경우 황색도에서 차이를 보였다. 한편, 훈연소시지에서 레드 비트의 첨가는 아질산염 150 ppm 첨가 대조구에 비하여 명도를 감소시켰으나, 적색도는 유의적인 영향을 주지 않았다. 반면에, 저장기간 동안 색도의 변화에서는 레드 비트(1%)만 단독 첨가한 저지방 훈연 소시지의 적색도가 유의적으로 감소된 반면에, 아질산염(75 ppm)과 레드 비트(0.5%)를 조합한 처리구는 저장기간 동안 적색도를 유지하였으며, 아질산염 150 ppm 첨가 대조구의 적색도와도 유사하게 나타났다. 결론적으로 아질산염의 첨가는 저지방 소시지의 보수성과 색도에 영향을 주었고, 레드 비트의 첨가는 적색도와 발색안정성에 효과적이었다. 특히, 레드 비트 0.5%와 아질산염 75 ppm의 조합은 저장기간 중 저지방 소시지의 적색도를 유지함에 따라 아질산염을 저감화 한 저지방 소시지(훈연, 자비)의 제조를 위해서는 레드 비트 0.5%와 아질산염 75 ppm의 첨가 조합이 적당하다고 판단된다. This study was performed to evaluate the quality characteristics of low-fat boiled or smoked sausages containing sodium nitrite and various levels of red beet during refrigerated storage. Physicochemical properties of boiled and smoked sausages were not affected by the addition of red beet (p>0.05), except for the color values. The interaction between treatment and storage time had significant effects on redness and yellowness of boiled sausages, and on redness of smoked sausages (p<0.05). Boiled sausages containing more than 0.5% red beet decreased lightness and increased redness and yellowness (p<0.05). During storage time, redness decreased and yellowness increased (p<0.05). The combination of sodium nitrite with red beet was better than red beet alone for color stability. In the smoked sausages, addition of red beet decreased lightness, but redness (p<0.05), unlike the boiled sausages, did not change. Redness of sausages containing red beet alone decreased with increased storage time (p<0.05), but there was no change (p>0.05) upon treatment with the combination of sodium nitrite and red beet. These results indicate that the combination of red beet and sodium nitrite contributed to color stability of smoked sausages during refrigerated storage. Therefore, we suggest that red beet as a natural colorant may be used to reduce the content of nitrite during low-fat sausage processing.

        In-Induced Variation in the Electronic Structure of In/Si(001)4 X 3 Nanoclusters

        We present our first-principles total-energy calculations on electronic structure of the In/Si(001)4 × 3 nanoclusters as the In doping changes. At an In coverage of 0.5 ML, the magic nanocluster Si7In6 is semiconducting with a band gap of 0.54 eV. There are two different experimental results for the further In-doped cluster: One is metallic [Kotlyar et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 91, 026104 (2003)] and the other is semiconducting [Ahn et al., Phys. Rev. B, 70, 113304 (2004)]. Based on the formation energy and the band structure calculations, we suggest that both the metallic (Si6In7) and the semiconducting (Si5In8) clusters can appear, depending on the experimental conditions, which can explain the different electronic properties between the experiments by Kotlyar et al. and by Ahn et al.

        전기자동차 AC 컴프레서용 IPMSM의 V-shape 영구자석 매입각도에 따른 특성 연구

        The development and supply of electric vehicles is recently leading the change of Air Conditioner (AC). The belt-driven compressor in traditional vehicle is connected to a crankshaft with timing belt to be operated. Thus it is not possible to be properly controlled at efficient operating point AC requires. In case of electric vehicles, however, by introducing IPMSM(Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) as AC compressor, it allows to control independently from traction motor and operate at the efficient operating point. This paper analyzes the characteristics of V-shaped IPMSM suitable for AC compressor with higher power density and efficiency and introduce the index of effective insertion angle.

        Effect of Kettle Bell Swing Exercise on the Body Composition and Lower Limb Muscular Activity

        Purpose: This study examined the effect of Kettle bell swing exercise on the body composition and lower limb muscular activity. Methods: As subjects, 26 normal adults in their twenties were divided randomly into the experiment group (n=13), in which Kettle bell exercise was applied, and the control group (n=13), in which bar exercise was applied. Both groups participated in the interventions for eight weeks with three sessions per week. Each group was assessed before training and four and eight weeks into the training to determine the effects of training intervention within and between the groups. The body composition was measured with a body composition analyzer. The changes in muscle activity were measured with a surface electromyography. An independent t-test was conducted to test the significance between the groups according to the measurement points and Repeated measured ANOVA was performed to compare the groups according to the periods with the statistical significance level set to α=0.05. Results: No significant changes to the main effects of time and the interactions of time according to the measurement points were observed in the Kettle bell and control groups in the body composition (p>0.05). The muscular activity of both muscles were significantly different between the Kettle bell and control groups according to the measurement points with the exception of the right lateral gastrocnemius muscle (p<0.05). Conclusion: These findings suggest that Kettle bell swing exercise can have positive effects on the development of lower limb muscles

        Quality of Life in Patients with Osteoporotic Vertebral Compression Fractures

        Background: This study aimed to evaluate quality of life (QOL) using the EuroQOL-5 dimensions (EQ-5D) index and to examine factors affecting QOL in patients with an osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF). Methods: This ambispective study used a questionnaire interview. Patients over 50 years old with an OVCF at least 6 months previously were enrolled. Individual results were used to calculate the EQ-5D index. Statistical analysis was performed, and factors related to QOL were examined. Results: Of 196 patients in the study, 84.2% were female, with an average age of 72.7 years. There were 66 (33.7%) patients with multilevel fractures. Conservative management was used in 75.0% of patients, and 56.1% received anti-osteoporosis treatment. The mean EQ-5D index was 0.737±0.221 and was significantly correlated with the Oswestry disability index score (correlation coefficient -0.807, P<0.001). The EQ-5D index was significantly correlated with age (Spearman’s rho=-2.0, P=0.005), treatment method (P=0.005), and history of fracture (P=0.044) on univariate analysis and with conservative treatment (P<0.001) and osteoporotic treatment (P=0.017) on multivariate analysis. Conclusions: OVCF markedly lowers QOL in several dimensions for up to 12 months, even in patients who have healed. Treatment of osteoporosis and conservative treatment methods affect QOL and should be considered in OVCF management.
