Objective : We present reference values of flow velocities of intracranial and extracranial cerebral arteries and relation with change factor. Method : We checked transcranial Doppler ultrasonography on mean velocity, systolic velocity, pulsatility index, and resistance index of 252 patients. We also compared differences of change factor. Result : The result showed a difference by sex and age and relevance between vessels besides mean velocity of vessels related with past history and social history. Conclusion : According to the above results, females showed higher velocity of all vessels. With advancing age, subjects showed reduction in velocity and increase in pulsatility index and resistance index. Anterior cerebral, middle cerebral, and posterior cerebral artery increased in proportion to velocity of internal carotid artery and basilar artery. Vessel velocity correlated with diabetes mellitus, hypertension and hyperlipidemia.
균기산(勻氣散)이 흰쥐의 국소뇌혈류량 및 평균혈압에 미치는 효과

Kyungisan (KGS) has been used in oriental medicine for many centuries as a therapeutic agent for treatment of stroke caused by deficiency of qi(氣虛). This study was performed to evaluate effects of KGS extract on the regional cerebral blood flow(rCBF) and mean arterial blood pressure(MABP) in rats. The result of this study were as follow ; 1. KGS significantly increased rCBF irrelevant to MABP in normal rats, 2. To prescribe KGS after pretreatment with indomethacin(IDN) decreased rCBF as compared with control group to administered only KGS in normal rats. But the change of MABP is not significantly as compared with control group. 3. To prescribe KGS after pretreatment with methylen blue( MTB) decreased MABP and rCBF as compared with control group to administered only KGS in normal rats. Especially, it significantly decreased rCBF. These results suggest that KGS increase rCBF by enlargement diameter of pial artery in brain. The active mechanism of KGS is related with prostaglandin activated by cyclooxygenase. So, I suggest that KGS has an anti-ischemic effect through the improvement of cerebral blood flow and can be used for stroke.

In recent years, the importance of terahertz waves (T-ray) has been recognized for detecting defects. With the characterization of Fiber reinforced plastics (FRP) composites the T-ray techniques have been applied. The present study deals with THz scan images of honeycomb sandwich composite panels using a refractive index (n) and electrical conductivity of glass fiber embedded epoxy matrix composites and carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) skin. A method of detection of FRP composites with impact damage is presented and also aluminum wires could be detected when woven carbon fibers are twisted with conductivity. Thus, a level of transmitted power of THz waves in CFRP composites was compared with that of glass fiber composites quantitatively on the basis of electric field (E-field) in the fiber direction to evaluate a level of transmission of THz according to frequency bandwidth. Based on the T-ray characteristics, a FFT scan image method is proposed, which could detect impact damage on the honeycomb sandwich panels and also a test valid region of THz waves is evaluated for detecting aluminum wires according to carbon fiber orientation when the aluminum wires were inserted with woven carbon fibers on the surface of honeycomb sandwich panels.

Important issues in the design of the vehicles could be represented such as reducing CO2 emissions and improving the fuel economy. However, vehicle safety is ensured in a state in which the design is to reduce the weight of vehicle weight reduction for the wings to be made. In this study, a representative of lightweight material CFRPs (carbon fiber reinforced plastic), thin-walled members using the CFRPs were studied after the collapse crash. Also, experimental investigations are carried out for the CFRP thin-wall member and in order to study the effect of various stacking condition. Static and impact collapse tests were performed with change of the interface numbers, such as fiber orientation angle. Collapse modes and energy absorption characteristics had been analyzed.

The actual condition is that environmental pollution due to the development of various industries has recently become a serious issue. An interest in improving the gas mileage is rising due to an increase in the number of vehicles in the era of high oil price in particular. In order to solve this problem, priority should be given to light-weight design of car body, However, at present, a design method enabling the conventional steel plate to be replaced is direly needed in order to guarantee passengers`` safety according to excessive light-weight design of car body. In this study, in order to apply a design method that could realize fuel savings and environmental pollution prevention through an improvement in gas mileage together with meeting the safety requirements for vehicles, it was supposed that CFRP/Al composites member would be used as primary structural member. And to this end, it was intended to obtain optimum design data by experimentally implementing external impulsive load applied to the car body. According to results of impact test of CFRP/Al composites member, a collapsed shape of folding, crack, and bending occurred. So, it was possible to find that energy was observed. And in case of specimen having an angle of 90° in the outermost layer and stack sequence of [90°2/0°2]s, its collapsed length was shown to be short. Therefore, it was possible to find that the absorbed energy was shown to be higher by 20% or above at the maximum.

In this study, the collapse characteristic of CFRP/Al compound square tube was investigated experimentally. The conclusions are as follows; The impact collapse characteristic of CFRP/Al compound square tube was found to be the most superior stacking conditions [90°]8. It showed that a very stable collapse mode was crushing. In the member with [0°2/90°2]s and [90°2/0°2]s, stacking conditions, 0° fibers were splayed to the external by laminar bending, while the 90° fibers were held between the folds of the aluminum member by laminar bending, local buckling and transverse crack. In the member with [45°2/45°2]s stacking conditions, fibers were held between the folds of the aluminum member by local buckling and transverse crack.

Objective & Methods : Irritable Bowel Syndrome is occurred frequently in daily life. Nevertheless. medical treatment of the Irritable Bowel Syndrome is almost dependent on western cure, but that cure is not effective enough. So we chose the oriental medicine textbook that were dealing with the oriental concept and the treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. we got these results. Results were as follows : 1. Irritable Bowel Syndrome is characterised by recurrent or chronic abdominal pain, with distension, disturbed defecation and psychic problems without organic lesions. 2. The etiology of Irritable Bowel Syndrome include stress. disharmony of liver and spleen, the coldness of spleen and kidney and the lack of qi or yin, etc. 3. The oriental treatments of Irritable Bowel Syndrome are warming spleen and kidney, easing liver and stopping diarrhea. 4. The internal medication of Irritable Bowel Syndrome was the most used 11 times Tongsayobang(痛瀉要方) and 10 times Yijungtang(理中湯). 5. The most many used herb were Atractylodjs macrocephalae rhjzoma(白朮), Gjnseng Radix (人蔘), Cjnnamomj Cortex(肉桂), Polyporus(猪笭), etc.

Carbon Fiber reinforced composite material can be designed for the optimized performances of structural member that have achieve appropriate mechanical properties with cross-sectional shape, fiber direction, stacking sequence and thickness. So there are needed extensive databases each optimal design of CFRP structural member by impact through the preparation of different shape, interface number, thickness and stacking angle. When pressure is applied to structural member, compression, bending and torsion is shown on the corresponding member. For the effective utilization of fiber reinforced composite material as main structural member, optimized design technology should be established to maximize mechanical properties for compression, bending and torsion. In this paper, CFRP prepreg sheet with different stacking angle is manufactured in CFRP and hybird(Al+CFRP) with circular cross-section. Strength and stiffness is gotten respectively by flexure test. CFRP structure and hybrid structure can be compared with each other. The best design guideline can be analyzed by use of this study result.

In guard rail crashes, the development of guard rail structure to ensure the maintenance of safety for passengers is very important. So, this paper focuses on understanding the possibility of efficient structural development considering crash strength of guard rail through computer simulation using the commercial code, LS-DYNA3D at the initial stage of guard rail development. For this study, guard rail structure was modeled using shell elements to represent major structural members and passenger car was modeled using plate elements of simple shape to do not have the drawing, and impact boundary conditions required by regulation was applied. In order to confirm the validity of the computational results, they were compared with the test results.
