기술 혁신과 인간 욕구 단계에 따른 산업디자인 역할 확장과 진화

Background The design that began with the Industrial Revolution has developed by connecting technological innovation with human beings. It is said that the 4th Industrial Revolution will have a great impact on the future society, and there are many discussions about the role of industrial design. Therefore, it is very important to find the meaning of design and redefine the role of design as a mediator between technology and human beings. Methods This study examined the theory of technology, human, and design change process through literature, and grasped the connection relationship between them. Based on this, the research proposed a design role model for each stage of change and applied design examples to the model, explaining the expansion and evolution of industrial design roles. Result Through the analysis of the case, it was found that the perspective and object of design expanded as the technology and human needs stages advanced to the higher stages. The role of design has evolved from focusing on aesthetic creations and usability to pursuing new meanings and experiences, and furthermore as the meaning of technology evolves and higher human needs to be fulfilled, it can be seen that design evolves in the direction of creating a new typology. Conclusion The meaning of this study is to provide a new model through technology-design-human multidimensional approach and analysis, and to explore the relationship between them and the direction of industrial design through case analysis. Through the research, it can be seen that the higher the level, the less the product occupies the initial market, but design leads to radical innovation, increasing influence on society and human beings, and expanding meaning of design. If quantitative research is complemented by continuous exploration and study on the role and direction of design, it is expected that it will provide new insights into the future role of industrial design. 연구배경 산업혁명과 함께 탄생한 디자인은 기술 혁신을 인간과 연결하면서 발전하여왔다. 4차 산업혁명은 미래 사회에 큰 영향을 줄 것으로 이야기되고 있으며, 산업디자인 역할에 대한 많은 논의가 일어나고 있다. 따라서, 기술과 인간을 중재하는 매개체로서 디자인의 의미를 찾고 역할을 재정의하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 연구방법 기술, 인간, 그리고 디자인의 변화 과정을 문헌을 통해 이론을 고찰, 이들의 연결 관계를 파악하였다. 이를 바탕으로 변화 단계별 디자인 역할 모델을 제안하고, 디자인 사례를 모델에 대입하며, 산업디자인 역할의 확장과 진화를 설명하였다. 연구결과 사례 분석을 통해 기술과 인간 욕구 단계가 상위 단계로 발전하면서 디자인의 관점과 대상이 확장되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 디자인의 역할은 심미성, 사용성에 초점을 두는 단계에서 의미와 경험을 추구하는 단계로 발전하였고, 나아가 기술의 의미가 진화하고 인간의 상위 욕구 충족이 요구됨에 따라 디자인은 새로운 전형을 생성하는 방향으로 진화하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 결론 본 연구의 의미는 기술-디자인-인간의 다차원적 접근과 분석으로 새로운 모델을 제공한 것과 사례 분석을 통해 이들 간의 관계와 산업디자인의 방향성을 탐색한 것이다. 연구를 통해 상위 단계로 향할수록 해당 제품이 초기 시장에서 차지하는 비율은 낮지만, 디자인은 급진적 혁신을 이끌어 사회와 인간에 미치는 영향력을 증대시키고 의미를 확장하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이에 대한 지속적인 탐색과 연구, 정량적 연구가 보완된다면, 산업디자인의 미래 역할에 대한 새로운 통찰을 제공할 것이라 기대한다.

Recently, the rental housing market in Korea has experienced substantial changes in preferred rental contracts between Chonsei and monthly-rent-with-variable-deposit. Until a few years ago, Chonsei has been a dominant rental contract. However, for the recent years, monthly-rent-with-variable-deposit structure has taken a substantial portion of rental contracts. In this paper, based on an investor's viewpoint, we attempt to analyze the determinants of the relative ratio between Chonsei rental contract and monthly-rent-with-variable-deposit rental contract. It is theoretically suggested that the rate of return on equity investment is critical to a landlord's preferred rental contract and that not only Chonsei-to-monthly-rent conversion rate but also the expected house price appreciation rate, the ratio of sale price to Chonsei deposit, and the ratio of sale price to the deposit accompanied by monthly rent are the important determinants of the rates of return on equity investment. Our empirical results show that the expected house price appreciation rate, Chonsei-to-monthly-rent conversion rate, and ratio of sale price to Chonsei deposit are statistically significant explanatory variables. While Chonsei-to-monthly-rent conversion rate negatively affects the relative ratio of Chonsei to monthly-rent-with-variable-deposit contracts, the expected house price appreciation rate and the ratio of sale price to Chonsei deposit positively influence the relative ratio between Chonsei to monthly-rent -with-variable-deposit contracts. It turns out that these results are very robust regardless of the regions under consideration.

주택임대시장 균형조건을 이용한주택매매가격 대비 전세가격 비율 결정요인 분석: 주택매매가격 변동성을 중심으로

Traditional approach to analyze the determinants of Chonsei deposit to housing sales price ratio is based on asset market equilibrium condition. However, this approach does not fully account for complexity involved in Korean rental housing market, where Chonsei, Monthly-rent-with-variable deposit, and pure monthly rental contracts coexist. In this paper, we utilize each rental type’s different rate of return structure and examine the determinants of Chonsei deposit to housing sales price ratio based on rental housing market equilibrium condition. We further incorporate housing price volatility into the analysis as a critical variable related to housing investment risks, which has been ignored in previous studies. Our empirical analysis using a sample of the apartment sales price and rent in Seoul confirm our theoretical predictions: Chonsei deposit to housing sales price ratio is positively linked to the rent-to-price ratio and housing price volatility, and the ratio is negatively affected by the expected housing price appreciation rate. The relationship between the Chonsei deposit to housing sales price ratio and housing price volatility was robust to different measures of housing price volatility. The long-run elasticity of Chonsei deposit to housing sales price ratio with respect to rent- to-price ratio was estimated to be 1.04~1.22 and the long-run elasticity of the ratio with respect to housing price volatility was estimated to be 0.15~0.53. which is about 50 to 100 percent of the long-run elasticity with respect to expected housing price appreciation rate. These results show that previously ignored housing price volatility is one of important variables to affect Chonsei deposit to housing sales price ratio and risk factors are needed to be considered to better understand Korean housing market.

다문화사회와 이주민 미디어:<이주민방송>을 중심으로

This research explored the role and potential of MWTV(Migrant Workers' TV) as a minority media. Based on critical multiculturalism perspectives, this work examined interactions and dynamics in the MWTV's production process and discussed both potentials and problems as a minority media. MWTV plays a significant role as a participatory minority media, in which marginalized migrants from mainstream media production and representation can participate as a main agent of broadcasting production. Also, MWTV serves as a mediated community as well as a real community for immigrants through diverse interactive activities, such as immigrants' film festival, annual meeting, media education for immigrants, multicultural education for Koreans, and so on. MWTV demonstrates possibilities for being a participatory minority media by allowing socially disadvantaged migrants to disseminate their collective voices and perspectives, as well as by making a collaborative space between migrants and Koreans as participants for media production. On the other hand, MWTV faces challenges, such as making more collaboration among producers, generating a more diverse participation, overcoming financial difficulties, and so on. In a response to these challenges, MWTV should take stronger innovative steps based on more openness and more ground-up approaches. 이 연구는 <이주민방송: MWTV>의 소수자 미디어로의 역할과 가능성을 탐구하였다. 다문화사회와 다문화주의에 대한 비판적 관점을 바탕으로 <이주민방송>의 등장 배경과 제작과정에서의 상호작용 및 문제점을 탐색하였다. <이주민방송>은 주류미디어의 재현의 대상에서 소외된 이주민이 직접 방송 제작의 주체로 참여하는 대안미디어라는 의미를 가진다. 방송제작 외에도 영화제, 이주민 대상 미디어교육, 일반인 대상 다문화교육 등 다양한 활동을 통해 이주민을 위한 매개적․실체적 공동체 역할을 수행하고 있었다. 이주민이라는 소수자이자 약자가 주체가 되어 그들의 목소리를 그들의 시각으로 확산한다는 점에서, 이주민과 한국인들이 연대해 참여한다는 점에서 참여적 대안미디어의 가능성도 보여주고 있었다. 한편 <이주민방송>은 제작진 사이의 상이한 시각의 조화, 더 다양한 이주민들의 참여와 이주민 주체성의 강화, 접근성 향상과 재정적 어려움의 극복이라는 도전들에 직면해 있었다.

산업디자인의 역사가 짧은 국내 디자인 활동은 이제 모방디자인에 의한 기법과 테크닉을 중시해온 암기식 디자인을 탈피하고, 보다 창조적인 디자인으로의 접근 방법을 모색하기 위하여 조형의 존재성을 규정하는 상황이라는 디자인 문제의 본질에 초점을 두어야 한다. 디자인을 한다는 것은 문제의 상황을 분명히 인식하는 것이다. 따라서 디자인 프로세스는 문제에 대한 이해로부터 시작된다. 문제를 이해한다는 것은 디자이너로 하여금 그가 디자인하여야 할 문제가 무엇인지를 정확히 알게 되어 해결안에 이르는 골격을 형성하게 한다. 본 논문은 문제를 이해하는 단계에서 발생하는 문제에 대한 수용, 분석 및 정의단계에 필요한 방법들에 대한 연구이다. 디자인을 수행하기 위하여 자신의 에너지를 어떤 목표 혹은 목적에 전념하여 문제가 내포하고 있는 본질적인 의미를 정확히 파악함으로서 문제의 핵심에 도달하는 것은 바로 창조적사고에 다다를 수 있는 지름길이라고 할 수 있다. 디자인 행위를 광범위한 확산과 보편화를 위한 하나의 평범한 진리로 인식하여 디자인을 보다 창조적으로 수행할 수 있는 방법들을 제시해 보고자 하였다.
