유아교사의 다문화감수성이 다문화교수효능감에 미치는 영향: 유아교사의 의사소통능력의 매개효과

This study attempted to explore the relationship between early childhood teachers’ multicultural sensitivity, multicultural teaching efficacy, and communication ability, and to examine the mediating effect of communication ability in the relationship between multicultural sensitivity and multicultural teaching efficacy. To this end, 360 early childhood teachers from 3-5 year old classes of daycare centers and kindergartens in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province were sampled. Descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, one-way variance analysis, and correlation analysis were performed on data.. The model 4 research method by Hayes (2017) was used to analyze the mediating effect. As a result of the study, first, early childhood teachers’ multicultural sensitivity, multicultural teaching efficacy, and communication ability were somewhat higher than usual. Second, there was a significant positive correlation between early childhood teachers’ multicultural sensitivity, multicultural teaching efficacy, and communication ability in both the overall and sub-factors. Third, the partial mediating effect of communication ability was verified in the relationship between multicultural sensitivity and multicultural teaching efficacy. This study suggests that a positive effect can be obtained on early childhood teachers’ multicultural teaching efficacy, by raising the level of multicultural sensitivity of early childhood teachers and improving communication ability.
