유아교사의 다문화감수성이 다문화교수효능감에 미치는 영향: 유아교사의 의사소통능력의 매개효과

본 연구는 유아교사의 다문화감수성과 다문화교수효능감, 의사소통능력의 관계를 탐색하고, 다문화감수성과 다문화교수효능감의 관계에서 의사소통능력의 매개효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울 · 경기 지역의 어린이집 · 유치원의 3-5세반에 재직중인 유아교사 360명을 표집하였다. 자료 분석을 위해 기술통계 및 독립표본 t 검증, 일원배치 분산분석, 상관분석을 실시하였고, 매개 효과를 분석하기 위해 Hayes(2017)가 제안한 model 4 연구모형을 적용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 유아교사의 다문화감수성과 다문화교수효능감, 의사소통능력은 5점 척도에서 모두 3.6점 이상으로 나타났다. 둘째, 유아교사의 다문화감수성과 다문화교수효능감, 의사소통능력은 전체 및 하위요인 모두에서 유의미한 정적 상관이 나타났다. 셋째, 유아교사의 다문화감수성과 다문화교수효능감의 관계에서 의사소통능력의 부분 매개효과가 검증되었다. 결론적으로, 유아교사의 다문화감수성은 의사소통능력을 매개로 다문화교수효능감에 영향을 미친다. 유아교사의 다문화교수효능감을 높이기 위해 공감과 경청, 반응과 기억 등 긍정적이고 통합적인 의사소통능력이 필요함을 시사한다. This study attempted to explore the relationship between early childhood teachers’ multicultural sensitivity, multicultural teaching efficacy, and communication ability, and to examine the mediating effect of communication ability in the relationship between multicultural sensitivity and multicultural teaching efficacy. To this end, 360 early childhood teachers from 3-5 year old classes of daycare centers and kindergartens in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province were sampled. Descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, one-way variance analysis, and correlation analysis were performed on data.. The model 4 research method by Hayes (2017) was used to analyze the mediating effect. As a result of the study, first, early childhood teachers’ multicultural sensitivity, multicultural teaching efficacy, and communication ability were somewhat higher than usual. Second, there was a significant positive correlation between early childhood teachers’ multicultural sensitivity, multicultural teaching efficacy, and communication ability in both the overall and sub-factors. Third, the partial mediating effect of communication ability was verified in the relationship between multicultural sensitivity and multicultural teaching efficacy. This study suggests that a positive effect can be obtained on early childhood teachers’ multicultural teaching efficacy, by raising the level of multicultural sensitivity of early childhood teachers and improving communication ability.
